I love everything about the 1979 "Dracula" -- the literate screenplay, the casting, the music, the sets. Frank Langella is mesmerizing, sympathy for the devil, not just scare-the-kiddies fangs and gore.
The thing about this version of Dracula that makes it so good is that this love story has an excuse to be disturbing with the love story. In Bram Stoker's Dracula, Mina and Dracula are like a ghostly Romeo and Juliet that come together because of reincarnation and destiny. In the 1979 version they just plain fall in love and wanna fuck which is creepy as Hell but very beautiful at the same time. Like when she looks sadly at his body flying away at the end and she carries his child o_O
