@hellscan As Euronymous was explaining in this interview, Black Metal is about more than the music. It is a lifestyle and a personal commitment. Presumably, as you dismiss him as a 'fucking clown' and a 'big dick' you have failed to grasp that concept, thinking it is only about the sound that comes from a stack of speakers. You're the kind of Black Metal listener that Euronymous despaired of. He shaped the whole scene with his presence - music is one aspect. There's no fuck him - but fuck you.

To me Dead remains the epitome of what a true black metal artist ought to be...distanced and secure in his own perversions (not that I would like every black metaller to commit suicide...)

I think he didn't care whether or not people believed that, as long as discussion of his beliefs stimulated the scene he was crafting. But I agree with you that Dead was a perfect icon of Black Metal - may he rest in peace.

I don´t know much about the BLACK METAL scene in norway, i haven´t go there and i think i never will, but well, i have a lot of respect for mayhem you know, it takes a lot of courage to be able to pull the trigger of s shootgun, and even more to kill a close friend, anyways, i think at the time the ideology of Euronymous was a little childish, they started doing what they did because they idolized another band (Venom), not because they really where in all that misantrophic state of mind.

mmm I actually do like wolf's lair abyss, and I like maniac because he fits Mayhem's image better than Attila and I loved the lyrics when he was on Mayhem... you know.. war, misanthropy, anti-christianity... but beyond that I think it's a good album, actually the best album since Mayhem returned after Euronymous died.. the only Mayhem album I don't like is GDOW... Maniac really sounds like shit
