Leadership is important - but so is having a caucus full of equally interested and capable people. That is where I will direct my vote - toward personal experience, character, and simple good sense.
He's right that we ought to be worried about the Conservative cabinet's conduct in Parliament. Unfortunately, most Canadians are too scared of change right now, even for the right reasons. Making it sound like we've got to have our own revolution isn't going to win the votes of ordinary Canadians, whose political orientations don't extend further than their doorsteps. As much as Canadians ought to "rise up", Ignatieff could sympathize with Canada more.

I'm still undecided; but I tell you one thing. I would much rather hear the candidates talk about their policies than just attack another party leader because of a person who works for them. I was at that advance poll in Guelph. It was a non-partisan, positive experience. The line was long and over 700 votes were cast. As such we might get a majority Harper government with as little as 35% of the vote: projectdemocracy.ca. So rise up Ignatieff and support proportional representation and coalition governments.

I just became a Canadian last year, and I appreciate this country so much, with the freedom Canada gave to me I will vote for the Liberals because to me they represent what democracy is. I love Canada <3 :)

@Pabelseth They are filtering comments, but think of the many things that could or would be posted if they didn't. Ignorant people who have nothing better to do than write rude comments that have nothing in particular to do with this video or their political views, but instead aim to bash or attack someone. I mean, your comment got through, didn't it? Your political view, and although it isn't a positive comment towards the liberals, it still made it through.

By the way, my comment on this video was not posted and it wasn't offensive, anti-liberal or bias to any other party. Them not posting my comment WAS censorship, and frankly I'm disappointed in this party for not letting my voice be heard, while only accepting high praise to Ignatieff or harsh words against Harper. Also, I don't vote Conservative.

I was at that advance poll in Guelph. It was a non-partisan, positive experience. The line was long and over 700 votes were cast. But the conservatives want to play their games; they'd rather see those 700+ votes thrown out than protect the democracy we've come to cherish in Canada. How cynical, and how utterly evil you must be to want to see hundreds of students practicing their democratic right, silenced.

What a bunch of bull. It was an illegal student election, if you care to do the research or READ the elections act. It will be overturned on appeal. Those students can vote in the ridings where they 'normally reside' on the appropriate dates.
His chief of staff is not a criminal. That was an adviser.

Impassioned speech & I agree with him; but if Ignatieff wants to truly help our democracy he needs to commit to bringing in proportional representation & coalition governments. However, he is denying the democratic tool of coalition governments & said nothing about proportional representation. As such we might get a majority Harper government with as little as 35% of the vote: projectdemocracy.ca. So rise up Ignatieff and support proportional representation and coalition governments.
