I like this one. I've heard Bob Dylan's version maybe 100 times, including a few minutes ago. I like that he captures the exact "I told you so" theme in such a different presentation. I just now listened to the David Bowie version, but the music drowns out the lyrics.
I'm one of those people that's into the lyrics, and I'm old enough to have heard the Bob Dylan version several dozen times. I like this. I think Cabot captures the contempt and the gloating exactly. The "ya wanna make a deal?" line sets it off perfectly, too. The video is interesting and adds something to it.
@NJtoTX ...meh because he mentions homelessness and stuff I guess. This documentary we're making isn't just some cheap grade 12 powerpoint. This is going to be a legitmate project and we plan to have it recognized.
It would be a nice background song to be played quietly in the back.
Btw, does Sebastian have an english accent? Because he has an english accent in the Jungle Book. :/ he sounded so foreign in Jungle Book but here he sounds so American lol <3 :)
Actually... while I couldn't help but laugh a little bit (alot)
I think it's pretty cool, because the lyrics to this song are so awesome to hear them spoken out as if they were scene from a movie makes perfect sense.
Cabot appeared twice on the Golden Throats #1 (It Aint Me, Babe and Like A Rolling Stone) and once on #2 (All I Really Want To Do). Shatner also appeared twice on #1 (Lucy in the Sky and Mr. Tambourine Man) and once on #2 (It Was A Very Good Year).
you know... I am a huuuge Dylan fan, but this... this works. I like it.

pretty camp - made me smile until I saw the photos of Anissa and the homeless family in the car. The juxtaposition is so bizarre

All that's missing is Mrs. Beasley for the "Beware, Doll" line.

The figure at :041 is Roscoe Lee Browne, not Sebastian Cabot.

In religion were focusing on homeless and were going to make a documentary about it. I want to suggest this song for the background music :)

@nddlj Seriously? Why would you use this? Yeah, I spaced on Jungle Book when I put this together.

It's too bad Sebastian Cabot is no longer with us - he and Shatner would have made a good comedy team.

Good Lord, I love those hobo shots of Sebastian. Jaw dropping, to be sure.

I used to perform this as a dramatic reading at poetry nights. Learned it from the master. But I couldn't do it half as good.
