Just had one of these for a rental in WA. My findings: steering was ok, the turning circle is hideous 42 FEET TO TURN AROUND!?!?! The interior quality was pathetic, cheap loose fitting plastic that scratched easily. The power sliding doors were nice, when they worked. With a little over 32K on the van, the power sliding powers would open halfway and get stuck. Powertrain: it strained to get into passing gear, and it shifted with a shudder. Do yourself a favor, get an Odyssey! This is junk!
He can't say anything right. It's Rou-ton, not Rou-tan. Anyway, this was a mistake of VW's part. They should have created there own van, instead of using chryslers crap.
basically what the Caravan and Town & Country should have been (aka nicer interior).......don't blame VW for eliminating risk by using an outside source to test the waters. On my 2nd VW and love it........don't want them to become the next Toyota but would love to see them make some money in North America. :)
@pezzy669 maybe your right but its still lazy of VW to do a such a crappy badge swap and not even keep the best aspects of the dodge like its great steering feel and stow and go seating,VW is like apple its not really better just marketing jargon u can find something better for less.VW and apple use good advertising to feed off the uninformed masses, this vans not made anywhere near germany or even by Europeans, just like apple uses cheap Chinese labor and charges top dollar.the real VWs are great
Finally, an HONEST REVIEW for this piece of shit, this rip-off, this Cadillac Cimarron/Lincoln Versailles of minivans rather than reviews in which the presenters skirt the truth because they are so fucking paranoid about losing their jobs!!!!! I mean, what was VW smoking to actually believe that we would be so stupid that we would not notice that this shitbox, just like the aforementioned automotive travesties, is a simple case of badge-engineering gone HORRIV
give me a break its a dodge grand Caravan, with the VW parts on it. beside she's right it is a Grand caravan but with different feature, and a pimped up caravan with all standard features.
No 4 cylinder van on the market? Ever heard of the Mazda 5?
