In my opinion if you know Spanish or Catalan you can easily learn Italian!!

Some words, the pronunciation and the grammar is very similar.

in italian, you say "organizzazione" which you pronounce the 'e' at the end. ("eh"). or-gan-eets-ats-ion-eh. but french is also similar to italian. manger is mangiare, rester is restare, parler is parlare, trouver is trovare, chercher is cercare, porter is portare, tete is testa, jambe is gamba, genou is ginocchio, table is tavolo, encore is ancora, plus is piu`, jour is giorno, demain is domani, matin is mattino, soir is sera, and there are more. all those words are dissimilar in spanish.

@ragazzoshitfuck409 that's true but a lot of other words are similar. Besides, spanish and italian have a high degree of mutual intelligibility when speaking unlike french and italian. If you know spanish you can understand a lot of italian when speaking without having studied italian.

Language and ethnic are two differents things.

French are celtics and germanics.

@yotuve87 Culturally and by language,yes,but by DNA,it's clearly not the case.French(by dna) are closer to british,germans,austrians,belg­ians,etc...And attention,north italians have several keltic and germanic input(longbard,gaulish,frankis­h,normandish,etc...).

@olbodala that very much depends I am french canadian and I look like an Italian my forefathers have been in Canada for hundreds of years already and I have the indo-european dna thus I believe original french folks are more closely related to the medeteranain caucasoid peoples

@lucy9359 Après,je ne nie pas le fait que nous avons également du sang romain,grec ou ibère,mais le plus grand apport(génétiquement parlant) est celto-germanique(65%),ce qui nous rapproche des britanniques,des allemands et de nos voisins belges.A l'opposé,en se plaçant d'un point de vue linguistique et principalement culturel,il y a plus d'affinités avec les italiens ou les espagnols.

@elchami743 but that's not true for every hispanic. some hispanics get very overwhelmed when they hear italian and fail to pick up anything more than basic similarities. it's not extremely hard to understand, but deffinately not very easy.

I read some articles in Catalan without having learned the language before and was no big deal to understand the general idea of the article.Catalan is incredibly related to other romance languages.

Yo creo que hay muchas más palabras del catalán similares al francés que al italiano (aunque al italiano también se parece muchísimo), y la fonética es más parecida al italiano igual que el español.

A mí como española no me cuesta trabajo (a pesar de no tener ni idea de italiano ni de catalán más allá de palabras sueltas) entender a un catalán o a un italiano mientras que a un francés no le entiendo igual de bien (si no hubiera estudiado francés en el cole no entendería ni papa XD).

@lyllith69 Si, el francés, aunque es una lengua romance, cuesta entenderlo. Supongo que es por el tipo de pronunciación. El portugués, italiano y catalán, por otra parte, parecen mucho más faciles de comprender para una persona que sepa español.

@OscarP282 Effectivement,le Français notre langue est latine,mais à l'exception de l'extrème-sud de la France,la Corse,etc...nous ne sommes pas latins,mais plutôt celtes et germains.Nos ancêtres à nous viennent du nord de l'Europe(Europe centrale,scandinavie,etc...),e­t non du sud.Bien entendu,la plupart des patois de France sont latins,à l'exclusion de l'Alsace et une partie de la Bretagne,mais génétiquement,nous sommes plus proches des peuples britanniques,autrichien et allemand.
