I've never understood that statement from Robert Plant when he said Nirvana was America finally getting Punk? The English love taking credit for music. The Beatles, The Stones, The Who all copied the first American Rock and Rollers......Chuck Berry, Elvis, Muddy Waters, Eddie Cocrane. Then the English punks copied the Stooges, MC5, The Dolls, Ramones, Richard Hell, ect....who all came out a few years before the English punk scene. I think Robert's crazy. America invented Rock and Roll and punk.
Who gives a shit where it was at? It's just music. Besides, we brits are the ones who are suppose to hate anything foreign so way to steal another thing from us america.
hoooly shit. i recorded this program when it aired as well. and this is the exact same portion that sticks out in my brain. thank you for putting this up here so i don't have to sort through hundreds of unlabeled VHS tapes to find this clip.
robert plant really says something really dumb. Bad Brains 1979, Black Flag 1976, Beastie Boys, Minor Treath, 7 Seonds etc.... its more important to me by now then Nirvana. Grunge has been a huge influence before I got into this other shit though
