  • her voice was dubbed...but I wonder what her real singing voice sounded like...I think I read that she said that she could not sing and so the studio dubbed her voice in.

  • Today is her birthday. She would have been 90. Happy Birthday Virginia!

  • She looks good in stills, but she looks captivating in her movies. Underrated beauty indeed.

  • She's related to me!!!!! :DDD i found out on ancestry(dot)com

And no i'm not advertising im just sayin!

  • Who could ever forget that scene in "A Song Is Born" when she extends her gorgeous leg for Danny Kaye to check out? VM had great legs, every bit as good as Betty Grable's, another blond gorgeous star.

  • A nice tribute to one of the most beautiful ladies ever to grace the screen. As a child, I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, on TV. My infatuation with her never waned. I doubt we'll see her type of unique beauty ever again.

  • You too, eh? Ms. Mayo-along with Priscilla Lane (Arsenic and Old Lace) and Ginger Rogers (It Had To Be You) - comprised my "Big 3" movie sweetheart crushes when I began noticing the birds and the bees. Virginia Mayo was the most alluring hottie, though.

  • yes, Virginia mayo was a big star....Why isn't Peggy Lee mentioned in the above caption...

  • there were a lot of beautiful and talented actresses in the fifties

but I don'know why virginia mayo attract me specially she was not just a pin-up girl .she seem to be a nice woman in real life

never heard or read a bad thing about her

    jmb

  • A true screen legend. She could do it all. What a gal...with we had more like her.

  • She's gorgeous

  • Mayo was a parle vous* from Vancouver Canada.

  • She was born in St. Louis Missouri in November 1920

  • Great tribuate to one of my favorite actresses, Virginia Mayo. People don't realize that Mayo was Paul Newman's first leading lady on the screen in "The Silver Chalice." She was called "the screen's most beautiful blond," and that was during Marilyn Monroe's time. She should have been Oscar-nominated twice: "The Best Years of Our Lives" and "White Heat." But critics could see anything except how beautiful she was.

  • Great Job!

  • Marvellous work on this - a great tribute to my all-time favourite female movie star and the most beautiful of Hollywood's actresses.

  • You certainly have a real talent to combine the pictures with the appropriate music and feel to the star you are featuring; so glad to have met you.
