  • I resent that the computer makes you wait 20 minutes reloading when it knows full well it will give purple code. I'm out $400 from someone who was willing to buy it from me and I thought I'd be nice and sell it with a clean slate before handing it over..........and clean it is! no viruses, no porn links..and no OS!

  • get CD recovery for gateway and use it, my computer is Compaq hp and the gateway recovery CD worked with it just fine.

  • xD...wh00ps

all i did was delete partitions and reinstall XP ....the usual..i do it to all computers that get RAPED by viruses and spyware :D

  • i need a little help. i got an unsuspecting virus and deleted a boot file. so i did system recover. every thing is up and running. but there is a pop up that says new hard ware found. its for my monitor but it says if i install it this could disable my computer or lead to malicious viruses. but the monitor i need to install is the monitor that came with the tower. im not sure if i should install it. and im tired of getting the pop up every time i start up my computer. should i install it?

  • Depending on the manufacturer of the computer and monitor, you may simply visit their support web site and download the latest driver available for the monitor that is compatible with your operating system. Once you install the driver, the popup message for "Found New Hardware..." specific to the monitor should go away.

  • lol i said forget it and downloaded it my computer is just fine. lol that was 2 months ago. time sure flies by.

  • That happens to me..... I just ignore it :P

  • thanks dude

  • i need a little help. my computer got an unsuspecting virus deleted a boot up file i did my recover its all set up and running again. but there is a message that pops up, new hardware found for installing my monitor. not sure if i should install it. because it said if installed it. it could disable parts of my computer or malicious viruses. but the monitor i got is the one that it came with for the whole set. should i just install any way?

  • hey i put in my hp recovery disk and then i re-booted me computer and hit f10 to get the recover to start nothing came up?

    please help

  • tyler3006,

Your computer must be enabled to boot from removable media. If you wish to perform a system recovery from a recovery partition on your hard drive then press F10. Otherwise, check your BIOS settings to ensure that boot from removable media is enabled. Also while in the BIOS you might want to check the boot order of all devices found on your system and modify as needed. Alternatively, press the appropriate function key that allows you to view the boot menu during system startup.

  • cool like the compac thingy

  • im going to do it today, hope it works.......

  • fuck it new computer lol!

  • did you change the motherboard or install a video card? that can cause it. Also call 800-474-6836, hp tech support, they will likely give a freee bench repair

  • i got it 2

  • Have you ever seen the compaq recovery disk error message?

  • I have 100a and i dont have vista now guess ill have to buy home premium

  • i have and mine says systemroot/config32 somekinda file missing...my recovery harddrive messed up as well but where can i find the recovery cd? didnt get mine cuz i had hard drive for back up...

  • Upon receiving a new computer (these days), you should always take care to create system recovery media (CDs, DVDs,etc). Otherwise, if your hard drive fails then you will have to purchase recovery media from the computer manufacturer. Check the appropriate manufacturer's web site and request a quote for recovery media for your particular computer model.

  • where r the other parts?
