ok im just wondering is it a 305 or a 350? and do you have to smog it in Virginia? cause here in California it is a bitch to smog and i would like to put a bigger motor in it with out having to worry about smoging it.
It's a 383 stroker motor. 400+ hp. Virginia has some smog emission testing but I've never had a vehicle to undergo the test. It must not be mandatory for every vehicle.
My 1st wife bought the car in 1978 and passed away in 1980. I restored the car as a tribute to her. My aim is to keep it stock appearing. No other modifications planned.
No such thing as a cheap unbroken lower valance. There are reproductions out there but I don't think they have the molded in center spoiler. Check ebay. From time to time an N.O.S. valance will show up. They're pricey though. Good luck.
I got my first car 2 months ago when I turned 16 and I got a 77 camaro like I've have always wanted.. Just got it painted yellow with black stripes but still a work in progress
Glad you like the "big bumper" Camaros. They've always been kind of shunned amongst both the car enthusiasts and Camaro enthusiasts alike. They are beginning to be just as popular as the 70-73 models now. Good luck with your car.
I've had no problems. State inspector said if it's supposed to have converters on it then they should be there all the time. It passed inspection because he said hardly anyone enforces that.
Thanks for the comment and for the product. It fit perfectly and I couldn't ask for a better look and sound. The polished tip option makes it very stock-looking which is what building a "sleeper" is all about. Thanks again.
That could almost pass for my old car... Only differences are mine was all black with only chrome window trim, door handles, and beauty rings on black Z rims. I sold the car back to my uncle who bought it new in 1977, so I still get to drive it occasionally. Lol Beautiful car bro
Thanks. It's a 383 Stroker built on a 4-bolt 350 block. Comp cam, Holley 670 dual feed, Edelbrock intake, aluminum heads and Hooker Super Comp headers. To look at the engine, it looks stock till you notice the angle plug heads and headers. It's even painted GM blue and I'm using the original air cleaner. I had to modify the base to make it work over the bowls on the carb, but it looks stock. The transverse muffler came from Pypes also. It's called a RacePro.
We bought it in 1978 as a black "plain Jane" sport coupe. Added the Z wheels, scoop, and added the guage package as time went by. I still have the original engine and tranny even though neither are currently in the car. I didn't do the body work myself, but over the years, I did acquire the NOS GM panels to do the car.
I'd have to find the tag in my garage to know for sure. All I remember at the moment is that it's a Comp cam. Sorry

TheChoisington1 6 months ago
@TheChoisington1
Not sure if you mean millage, which is bored .0030 , or mileage, which is 10 or less m.p.g.
seventy7camaro 6 months ago
@seventy7camaro o sorry the mpg, wow that isn't very good but it must be worth it having all that power and torque

Are you going to try and modify this? If you are it would look nice.

Do you have problems with the emmissions standards in your state?They are pretty brutal here in Illinois.
