Blackfoot's version is much better! But must asay that Siogo is a GREAT record!!!! I wish I could talk my band into doing 4-5 covers from that record!!! That is rock'n'roll!!!
"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing NO allegiance and acknowledging NO responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." PRESIDENT THEODORE ROOSEVELT, 1906
Hensley is the co-writer of this tune. Definitely prefer the Blackfoot version. As for Blackfoot going pop with Hensley aboard, that was not until "Vertical Smiles," Hensley's second album with them. "Siogo" is very much a Blackfoot album, at least to my ears.
@uriah768ok Have we succeeded? We think so. Before long we shall have covered with our narratives an enormous period of time; between the "Comtesse de Salisbury' and the "Comte de Monte Christo" five centuries and a half are compresed. Well, we assert that we have taught France as much history about those five centuries and a half as any historian. This passage is from The Companions of Jehu which was written by Alexandre Dumas pere.

I enjoy this version of the song too but I am not sure I like it better than Blackfoot's version because Blackfoot has a better edge to it..
Having said that I am glad Rick and Ken went separate ways because when Ken joined Blackfoot, the sound of the band changed from the Southern Rock sound to mainstream pop. It was not Blackfoot.
great this guy is agreat musician, , ex Uriah Heep, also great compouser!!! this song is excelent also with Blackfoot, is he still alive, anyone Knows, GRAN MUSICO DE ROCK DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS,
@woolybearrrr And he's still alive. I saw him 2 weeks ago, when he came in my country to give a concert.. That was amazing ))) Had a chance to meet him personally... He is hard smoker, drinks a lot of coffee and is always reading something ...
Love both the Blackfoot and Hensley solo version. Ken alters the lyric slightly here altering the meaning of the song.

Ken Hensley is currently touring with the band Live Wire I believe. They just released a CD as well. You can check his website for details.
