  • @MU113RS haha classic. Great video mate cheers. Please check out my original and cover songs on my channel. Thanks again mate

  • Holy shit balls i never knew what that little hole on my string winder/cutter was for!

  • How do u tie the gitar string at the ridge not the neck

  • do you recommend bronze alloy light? if you ever have tried them, or do you think they can be work?

  • what about electric acoustics coz iv been working on it for half ann hour and it still isnt working

  • Can I pull the pin out using a plier?

  • @telhacerta that's what i did, but be careful though, it might scratch your guitar and the pin... and it makes your guitar look ugly...

  • Oh right I also already know the note which are E A D G B E

  • Anybody out there... Recently I got a new acoustic guitar and I want some tips please. My guitar is the second best yamaha has so it was pretty expensive.

  • my martin guitar strings are actually really tasty!...

  • @malexsop agreed.

  • That's really funny because Thats exactly what I do, I put then in a soda bottle because they always come unwound in the trash and stick out

  • Oh and I have a tip. When you change strings, instead of curling them up, just put them in an empty old plastic soft drink bottle. That's what I do. Saves me a lot of time.

  • My strings go bad after a week. I wash my hands before I play. Why do they do that? Anyone?

  • "Kink" my asshole. You're method is a piece of shit, my string keeps coming loose from the bridge end.

  • what can i use to take out the bridge pin if i dont have a tool?

  • Just broke my higher E string. Never changed a string before in my life...

  • thinest string snapped first time haha, and freakin pierced my finger

  • @SockMonkeySaysHi loosing the string when cutting it. and whilst tuning ,well it takes practise lol

  • @JadeAqua100 queer

  • @nice1centurion @JadeAqua100 Totally....

  • Great video, nice to see that even after years of playing there's nice little things to learn ..

  • Well done, hopefully I can get it on my first try and not have to buy another pack.

  • @mb8605 right on, I hear ya. If one of them out of the pack doesn't take, you can buy the string individually, if you just need to replace one; however it's good if all the strings sound appropriate together

  • @JNdigital So like i can buy individual exlir web strings or w/e they're called? All the strings need to be replaced but it'd be great for budget reasons if I could get that individually for now and then get the pack when I can

  • @mb8605 yeah, I've bought individual strings b4, may not be a bad idea to call the music shop b4 you go to make sure it carries that particular string or one that's similar individually. Sometimes if a string breaks, I just replace that individual one and every once in awhile replace all of them at once

  • uploaded on my b day of 07; thanks for sharing info bro

  • Just tried to change guitar string... while winding I broke my guitar string again and peg just flew out. Feel like crap don't know what I did wrong

  • @8lackStar7 check out part2 perhaps for the tuning peg/ winding section

  • You can change strings?!?! I buy a new guitar after a string breaks !! Damn!

  • @FatJudith HAHAHAAHAH

  • That's a great explanation, really. Compare that to fucking expertvillage stoned idiots

  • my main problem is that when i get the strings in the hole and i start the tuning proccess sometimes the string unwinds it self.....ii ve managed to change all the strings and tune them but im afraid of they might slip and undwind and i won't be able to use them again...

  • 6:00 .... I've been playing guitar for over 9 years and I never knew an easier way to get the guitar pin out of the guitar than to just use a butter knife. I can't believe how stupid I was. I'm so glad I know now what the hell that little doohickey at the end of my guitar clipper is for. ^_^ LOL!

  • why is it that when i tune my strings, the top 3 frets make a buzzing noise when i play them. How come?

  • @ZxOxMxBxOxMxB your guitar neck could be warped, how old is it?

  • @musiclove291 I think my strings were buzzing cause they weren't changed properly, but i fixed that. I think my strings are to close to the neck because im having fret buzz on the 13th fret. So it might be because my sattle is to low, so i might have to get that fixed too. Btw i bought my guitar brand new just last year

  • just in guitar

  • I just left an old guitar string in the living room! Good thing I watched this video and my cats are in my room with me!

  • =_=" i just broke my "G string" few minutes ago....what a coincidence...

  • @RoseknightMasafumi me tooo!!!!!!!!!

  • @RoseknightMasafumi LOL, I did too...

  • @RoseknightMasafumi so did I lol

  • Is that DR rare?

  • my guitar does not have a pin? :( my guitar wraps around a hole on the bottom but i cant seem to put it on

  • my fucking pin keeps poping out when i am trying to put the string in.

  • Always using this video when changing strings:)

  • Comment removed

  • You know, he wasn't very clear on saying: DO NOT HAVE THE BALL SITTING ON THE END OF THE PIN!!

  • my g string broke too, really lol

  • @WeepBeforeYouSleep +1 This things just don't want to hold up

  • nice string cutting, u really taught me something

  • i swear only my g string fucks up :(

  • I dont even wanna watch this video now after listening to these comments.. fuck breaking my new strings

  • Thanks for posting, appreciate it

  • Aahha guitar strings are fucking lethal, after changing strings once i stood on a discarded B string and it went about 2 inches into my foot, not nice

  • ouch for your cat.

  • FUCK YOU, I did EXACTLY what you just did right now, and my string broke.

  • I'l try not to be too aggressive on my g-string next time O.o

  • nice jaguar behind you

  • I've changed my G string now thanks...but how do i change the others?

  • i can't put the pin back in!! D=

  • instead of winding the strings up, just put them in a plastic bottle. that's what i do.

  • @ZeppelinFloydRoses Great idea !

  • thanks, john lennon

  • Jagmaster?

  • you ROCK man!

  • Thanks for the video!

  • My strings loose the color in a few days. Is it just ''wrong'' to change strings every week? Because you see I play alot and it can be really annoying and difficult to play when the strings doesn't feel good. I use 12-54 on a Martin acoustic.

  • @LuXguitaR You shouldn't have to change every week. Serious players who play for hours professionally usually change their strings every 3 weeks and before a gig. Maybe you should invest in slightly more expensive coating strings if you haven't already.

  • @Telecasterpunk I've had the same strings for a year, and now the coils actually slide around on a couple of them. Is it really necessary to change them, or will I be ok if I just wait until they break

  • @LuXguitaR I don't think it's wrong, it's just way too expensive. If you see my other comment, I haven't changed the strings since I bought my guitar, and it doesn't really affect my playing.

  • @Eifler121 Your string will break a day if you dont change it.

  • @4321seb I know, thank you. I have the extra strings, but not the extra cash to get strings every three weeks or whatever.

  • @Eifler121 your strings are probably rusted now... or full of gunk... the string is now heavier and harder to play, also feels gross and when moving up and down makes a horrible squeaky sound... change your strings every couple months to get that fresh new feel and make u enjoy your playing more (=

  • ty.my e string broke so.ty agian

  • guy talks too much he needs 2parts lmfao

  • dam this is the 2nd g string ive gone through this months..

  • you make videos for practically everything related to guitar do you?

  • Thanks for the advice Justin

  • thnx for the help. mine broke as well.

  • fuck my high e string broke for the third time. every single fucking time i tune it to drop c and then try to retune it to standard tuning it breaks, fuck

  • @ReTr093 Maybe if you try a thicker string

  • @ReTr093 You cant use standard and Drop C on one set of strings... get another guitar

  • xD i just broke my e string by tightenin it...i went the wrong way. xD....i was tryin 2 get it 1 a d again..an i just loooose. lol so thanks

  • umm.. I'm thinking about buying a acoustic for hopefully under $300 (I'm gonna try and haggle becuase he said he would go lower on the price) ... it's like from 1948 it's a harmony cremona H1300... It's super hard to find on the internet nothing really comes up and it's not hooked like a regular acoustic.... How would I change strings on that is their another vid?

  • Regarding strings and tunings..would it be possible to use 13 gauge strings tuned to standard? I'm trying to get a really thrashy/crunchy sound and I want to use the lowest gauge possible without overdoing it

  • @KissMeImPunk

Of course, I always use mediums (13s) on my acoustic as I get a ton of buzz if I don't. As well as the not as solid sound. You might have to get a proper set up though, as the nut and truss rod might need help.

  • @EvilBenson Well I've heard from a couple of people 13 is a little much for a standard tuning at least and they recommend 10s/11s. Would they be lowest to go without having to adjust anything with the stuff you mentioned previously?

  • @KissMeImPunk

Some guitar players think the guitar can't handle the 13s, and that is sometimes true. So, if you're afraid of the 13s, I suggest trying the 12s then. It all depends on your guitar. 12s are considered the "light" gauge for acoustics. 10s are considered "extra lights."

  • @EvilBenson Well I'm not sure what my RG120 can handle, definitely don't know about the King V's limitations either. How heavy are the 10s for electric?

  • Gay

  • @Vuino Changing strings is gay? So every musician, and guitar store employee is a closet case? Wow, you learn something new every day.

  • @seetroo It's not gay changing strings, but the gay joke "Today i'm gonna change my G String"

  • today m gonna change ma *g string*....i got that ;)....hahahahahahah

  • LOL poor kitty

  • i got a epiphone acoustic what would be the best string to use on it

  • Why did he smirk when he said "change his g string' o.o

  • @solemnsoul17 "A G-string is a type of underwear, a narrow piece of cloth, leather, or plastic, that covers or holds the genitals, passes between the buttocks, and is attached to a band around the hips, worn as swimwear or underwear by women and men. It is also a style of thong swimsuit whose rear area can become so narrow that it would disappear between the wearer's buttocks." - Wikipedia

  • @martinrosssmith Really? I thought it was just a thong :s

  • @martinrosssmith in other words a thong

  • @solemnsoul17 Because it was a joke...knock knock...

  • @solemnsoul17 Do you know what a "G-string" is?

  • @solemnsoul17 you don't get it. "G" stiring. look it up. Google Images

  • @aguileogonzalez good idea

  • @solemnsoul17 omg

  • @solemnsoul17 girls call a thong a g string.

  • @solemnsoul17 You're taking tha f***ing piss right?

  • @solemnsoul17 BECAUSE CHIKS WEAR THONGS CALLED G STRINGS XD

  • @solemnsoul17 Lol he had FINGER JUNK on his G STRING... i hate when that happens

  • @solemnsoul17 haha :D

  • thank you sooo much!!!!

  • My bridge pin keeps wanting to pop out whenever I start winding the strings at the tuners..help?

  • that poor cat!

  • great. thanks for the tip. good teacher

  • Very good lesson, and very gay nailes

  • How do you change the strings if you have a different acoustic guitar?

  • hey retard what if u dont have either crappy lesson

  • The numbers represent the gauges of the string. The gauge is how thick the string is. Usually the thicker the string the deeper the tone.

  • this looks dangerous

  • How do u know which guitar strings to get???

Theres different numbers on each packet that contains a string

    Example:

    guitar strings #1: 11 15 22 30 42 52

    guitar strings #2: 12 26 22 32 44 54

    Whats the difference?

    Which one lives long?

    How is it better?

  • @jackassqwe1 The numbers refer to the 'gauge' of each string, i.e. its thickness. The larger the numbers, the thicker the strings are. Generally, acoustic guitars will use higher gauge strings (standard is 11), while electric guitars normally use thinner strings (9 is standard).

Generally thicker strings give a fuller sound and longer sustain. They also last a bit longer but that depends on other stuff like how much and how hard you play them. Thinner strings are prob easier for beginners

  • My guitar doesnt have a pin...?

  • @lif3isMUSIC dude mine either

  • @lif3isMUSIC If your guitar doesn't have a pin, then it's most likely a Classical Guitar,

  • sheeesh ! I lost the pin ! do you think shops sell them ?

  • yes

  • @liyannAlive yeah they do, and they're pretty cheap too.

  • @Lennard388 me too

  • Hey Justin !

Great job! Imo your vid. here , explaining how to change strings on an acoustic guitar...is the only (!) good, well made and comprehensible instruction on YT.

And me too, I always change all strings, when it's time and never had a prob.

So again, thx so much ! Greetings!

  • how can i take the pin out without one of those guitar cutter things

  • Hi, when I was changing my string... My high e broke when I was tuning it! Any suggestions on how to change the high e?

  • hmmm ... cant get my string out ...

  • wow thank u!

    5 stars

  • what about elixer acoustic strings. i use elixer on my les paul and they last for ages and sound really good are the acoustics any good?

  • They are -insane- I cannot emphasize how good of a decision it is to get Elixir for Acoustic. I've personally spoiled myself by getting one when they were out of D'addario (or however the hell that is spelt) and I haven't regretted it. Hope this helps! ~STC

  • Elixirs are terrible. Flat tone, dull and dead. The only thing they're good for is lasting a little bit longer. And they have to do that by flaking coating all over your floor like dandruff.

  • DR strings are boom

  • thanks my g string broke to lol

  • @MCCOLM1982 too

  • @MCCOLM1982 mine too! Lol

  • very usefull thanks!!....a tip for what to do with those old strings to stop them getting your cat!...I put them in an empty Pringles tub and put the lid on before putting them in the bin....good excuse to finnish the Pringles too : -)
