  • Thanks for posting this. Works good, and the pedal sounds much better. That was a very delicate solder joint to be sure.

If you are reading this and are thinking about attempting this mod, I would recommend using a narrow tip on your soldering iron.

  • I accedentally knocked off one of the microscopic resistors, FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

  • LOVING this! Thank You!!!! Danelectro should have you under contract! Respect!

  • I did it! I bought one just to fiddle with!!! Modded and rehoused, now it's a hell of delay!!!

  • @Renegadrian awesome dude!! glad i was of any help

  • i circuit bend keyboards and i have one of these pedals so modding it just seems so right lmao

  • im new to soldering is there a vid you can make to explain better??

  • @THEGUYD0WNTHESTREET check out the other video i posted under the same title. i broke it down into step-by-step. hope it helps you. im not sure if you know, Danelectro came out with a new Fab Echo Delay pedal after finding out about this mod getting popular with effects geeks.

  • does this mod allow for the original settings/sounds to be maintained if the new knob is at a certain point?

  • @tw926 absolutely, just turn the new knob to about 5% and you'll get the original FAB echo slapback effect. turn turn the knob any higher than that and you'll start to get a more lo-fi analog delay sound

  • Is the 100k pot linear or audio taper (A or B)?

  • @tw926 linear

  • damnit, I frickin hate SMd components.

Ruined my fab echo trying this frickin mod.

Guess I'll have to spend the 120 on a carbon copy now...

    Damnit to hell...

    Dm

  • Where did you find the diagram for this mod? I have this pedal and Im glad I have it so I can try my first mod and not take a loss.

  • yep works just fine but i broke the leg off so now im like fuck

  • @Ihavealltherightstuf no worries man, just re-solder a tiny piece of wire in place of the broken leg. a delicate job but possible. it might be a good idea to superglue the point where you solder afterwards so it wont come off. either that or electrical tape. anything to anchor it

  • @weerpool14 ya i use a hot glue gun for stuff like that and it works perfect, it surrounds it and keeps it completely in place

  • i looked this up right now cause i was messing with the fab echo and a dying battery simulator i built and noticed if i starve the pedal it adds little more delay time and a little chorus sounds cool and if you starve it enough it kind of oscillates.

  • It works just fine, man! Tks a bunch!

  • Yes, that's what's so cool about this little mod.

  • will it oscillate like an analog delay?

  • @omina3: no, you don't need a resistor at all. Hope this helps

  • Thanks a lot man! One question, from your diagrams, it looks like you are just wiring a 100K pot to PIN6. Another diagram I saw advised to put a 1K resistor between PIN6 and the 100K pot. So you didn't have to add the 1K resistor? Sounds phenomenal BTW, and if I don't need that resistor, even better! Please let me know! Thanks buddy :)

  • thanks dude, this mod works for me :-)
