South led ruthless raids several times into the north & attacked civilians. Some like to lie about the civil war. The civil war had one cause. One group of Americans wanted to end slavery. One group were willing to tear apart our nation over the "right" to hold humans as beasts of burden.  The war needed to end & the south refused even though they were beaten. Sherman cut them in half & severed supply lines. He ended the slaughter that the south wanted to continue. Haters 145 years later.

Gen. Sherman took the war to the Rebels and gave them exactly what they had dished out to others in Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.

And guess what ... the Rebels didn't like it and lost their taste for war along with their capacity for it. That earned him the hatred from such Rebels as didn't like being humiliated. Tough, but no cause for resentment.

Sherman said he would make Georgia howl and he did. He hated war he said war is hell and knew that he must take the war to the civilian backers of the war in order to break the confederate armies.The South was correct on states rights, the North correct on abolition-no man has the right to own another. The entire nation was scourged by the war for profiting and turning a blind eye to the horrors of slavery.Let us learn. Stop abortion before the LORD requires this blood of us. REPENT!

Seriously dude. You obviously haven't been studying your Confederate generals that well. Jubal Early burned and pillaged Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Quantrill, Mosby, and Morgan all led raids against the North aswell. So to call Sherman a coward would be to call Early, Quantrill, Mosby, and Morgan cowards aswell.
