I drive Isuzu FVM and they use a lot of fuel. Testing has showed with Isuzu's you have to use heavy acceleration to reach road speed as their engines lack torque, usually jap engines need to be reved hard and using the engine brake doesn't use fuel but reduce brake wear, come to think about it on the FVM the engine brake is useless.
