@electrichand1234 This is an old .44-40 Winchester. But I've only shot what they call 'cowboy action' loads through it. Not as much kick as a full .44-40. From what historical data I can find the original .44-40 loads that were shot through it were even more powerful than the rounds they make now. And I wouldn't even attempt the light loads except that it's in such perfect mechanical condition. It was manufactured in 1904.
@9SidedOctagon There are numerous stances a person can use when shooting a pistol. This is called a Bulls eye stance or point stance, one of several that used to be taught by military instructors. for more info do a search for pistol shooting stances.
anyone knows if there's a bb gun replica of this weapon??? This gun is sweet, but I can't own the real version in my country (IF I ever find it). So is there like a bb gun or something that you can shoot, but not real bullets???
i have 100 yr old bullets, the tips are wood :O or Cork :O Dude help me out here i dunno wtf i got, 3 LIVE bullets, and i'd Rather not risk an eye just to take em appart.
heh, back when these pistols were brand new the people living in that time probably would Shit Bricks if they saw the insane prices of guns now.. back then you could walk into a place and buy a gun for like 1-2 dollars...
You can order them at about any gun store, or through Davidson's Gallery of Guns (google it). They run $1000 to $1400 depending on the finish.
If you want a modern (new) gun made EXACTLY like the original, in the same factory, check out US Firearms (google USFA). These guns are slightly less expensive. However, they are original, in every way. Every part is CNC'd to the 2nd generation spec. The only difference is USFA uses modern, stronger steel.
It's an old gun and doesn't have a transfer bar safety. So you keep one cylinder unloaded for safety. (The firing pin is directly on the hammer and if there is one in the chamber under it, a hard blow to the hammer will set it off)

There is such thing as a double-action Peacemaker, right? The only ones I've seen were all Singles.

Actually, a peacemaker in the 1880's cost about 2 months average wages. They are much more affordable, today.
