Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Castlevania series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
Special move is accomplished by holding up then performing a quarter circle forward (a la the Hadoken in street fighter) followed by the attack button. It's pretty crushing.
I think the reason the SNES version sucked is because, back in the day, neither company wanted to shell out the big bucks required to make this game 'correctly' on a cartridge system. Aside from the audio, the SNES could have easily handled this game. It would've required a large capacity cart (those didn't really come until later), and possibly one of the add-on chips if they wanted to do fast real-time graphics decompression. Also, comparing the 65c816 to a z80 isn't fair, even at the same MHz
Maria's special move (alter-ego attack): Up, Down, Toward, Attack button. If that doesn't work, try Down Up Down Toward Attack. This move kills everything INSTANTLY and costs NO hearts.
Dracula X is one of the best of all the Castlevania series ever. I remember spending MANY hours trying to open up all the levels and saving all of the characters on this game. PCE rules!
Say it again! I'm a little shocked nobody's ever heard of the PCE and even the Turbografx 16 judging how many people asked what system it's for. It's time to for me to make a documentary to the NEC systems
Actually, it's the other way around - SotN uses a lot of the monsters from this game, and in fact, sprites from this classic are still being used today in the new Castlevanias for Nintendo DS.
True. For those who do not know, SOTN is under the Dracula X series in Japan; in jp it is called Dracula X: Nocturne of the moonlight, which is the sequel to Rondo of Blood.
This game should probably be downloadable on the Wii so there's no need for spending the cash unless you're a hardcore collector. You better believe I will download this game if it's available and is emulated perfectly.
Not necessarily, I've read that Turbo CD games will be supported. Now that doesn't mean Super CD2 games will as well, but it's not completely out of the question... especially if we beg hard enough!!!

Maria is so cool, but I think is the only dumb thing about this game. She shoundn't be as powerful as Richter.

If only I had a PSP, I'd get to play this (and the remake and SotN, sounds like the best Castlevania compliation yet!)

Do also note that she's not as durable as Richter, so you'd don't want to get hit.

PC Engine rocks! Maria could be called the Jun Kazama of Castlevania because of all those animals she uses as weapons to defeat enemies.
