its strange that you dont see the smoke come out of the exhaust pipe like other diesel trucks do, and also that is one nice H1 I wish I can get rid of my deuce and a half and get a H1
I didn't think the gov't would allow citizens to operate a military hummer on any public road? Is there a way around that law? My understanding is that u can buy one but u can't register or anything. Basically a back road buggy or lawn ornament.
@ThePaulgregg I have a Military AM General deuce and a half and I drive that thing around a few days a week and I have no trouble driving it around. But people ask me all the time "why do you drive that around" I kinda waht to tell people to fu** off and mine their own business but Im not that kind of person.
6.7 won't fit and a 5.9 would have been 7k more. much more work and modifications. 4bt fits in stock spot and with a few upgrades and it runs like a top. Plenty of power.
@lacrosseman706 With that long stroke crankshaft and mods, it'll pull that beast along nicely. The 6.2s only had 130-145hp and 280 ft/lbs of torque. That 4bt has probably 500+ft/lbs with the mods and at a lower rpm. Excellent swap.

I'll bet. I've read that it puts out around 130bhp and around 400 ft-lbs of torque @ low rpm. That's not bad for a vehicle like this Hummer. Anything that it fits comfy into should have that engine in it. I can see something like this driving a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel It gets better torque and it gets better gas mileage than a gasoline engine.
I can't imagine a 4 litre 4 cylinder engine driving a vehicle that originally had a 6 litre diesel driving it. Just listening to the engine isn't enough. How about going for a drive, eh? I'd love to see how she performs.
funny thing is that "little" 4 cylinder has 3.9 litres compared to wut 6.2 or 6.5. but that 4 cylinder with a little work will make more power than those 6L anyday.

why a 4BT? I would think a 6 cylinder b series Cummins would fit.

the 4bt has no horse power but a really good amount of torque..its good for a jeep..but the hummer is too damn heavy
lacrosseman706 2 years ago
Negative amigo. 2.73 gears and 2/1 hubs it has plenty of power to get over anything. The bigger injectors and turbo helps.
