You can get an RMA replacement or send it to a data recovery company where they can fix it and save your data. That particular clicking isn't a catastrophic head crash.
had the same thing happen to my brand new Samsung HD that I got from ebay after a power surge and all you have to do is contact WD to get an RMA and get a replacement.
This sounds exactly like an issue I had with a WD Protege (see my video response) a while back.

The sound is the arm slamming against the stop in the actuator assembly.
This usually follows from a head crash or servo trouble.

This happend in my modded Xbox. I sent it back under warenty and got a replacement for free.
