  • I just heard that Gene Daniels has passed on July 29, 2011. RIP Gene and thank you sir for the great music!

  • These girls had no idea who this man was and by not knowing could not enjoy the beauty of his music. His voice is beautiful. You could hear the same voice in him but just in a lower tone. BEAUTIFUL.

  • @RaptorKiller0Dunno, they looked like they were enjoying it fine, no they don't have the point of reference of it

being a huge hit in '61.

  • just saw the death notice at wicki .. it happen's like that sometime's and it alway's make's me feel slow. it's as if i wasn't hearing properly or didn't pay attn to what's important.

    bless,you sir and rip.

  • Man, what a singer and what a song! God bless him, the one and only Gene McDaniels. Let's not forget Tower Of Strength. Just great!

  • Lovely guy, R.I.P.

  • RIP Gene, thanks for the music....

  • My favorite of your early hits is "Tower of Strength." Your genius for song is shown by the improvised (or perhaps not?) vocalization you do as the song fades out. Though I only ever knew two of your records, when I came to be seriously interested in music and looked to the past, you immediately stood out as a true master just because of what you did in that fadeout. (Oh, please check out my OWN melodies in my channel, and if you like them do let me know!)

  • To Gene:

You are a phenomenal singer and songwriter to say the least. "Tower Of Strength" and "A Hundred Pounds Of Clay" are two fantastic great masterpiece pop songs of all time. And I very much also enjoy your other albums too. Your music is uplifting and spiritual as well and I would like to know when you are going to perform in New York City or even Maine because I would definitely like to catch one of your live shows.

  • Half of those girls are made of clay, the rest are made of high fructose corn syrup and too many video games.

  • I am so happy I found this. What a voice!!

  • What is the situation? ARe these girls in some special class? What was this for?

  • Maybe good God could have saved the clay for those girls. No enthusiasm at all!!!

  • You are the best Gene!!!!

  • Love your stuff, Gene! Glad to see you on YouTube! :D

  • great then GREAT NOW! that be talant!

  • This is really a great version to a song I've played and enjoyed since it came out. Gene's secret weapon ( if somebody can find it) is his BOP masterpiece "Straight no Chaser"...talk about a smokin' hot artist!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shame about the girls!!

  • Bring back '61 again

  • God bless you brother. Have been playing your song for many a years. Nice to see you still keeping on, keeping on!
