This phone sucks. I've had it for 2 years now, and it's basically rejected the original charger and my brother's charger. It won't charge AT ALL with those two chargers. But if I use my dad's, it works fine. Also, call quality is really scratchy. And the customization is non existent on this phone. I tried throwing it against the wall, but it survived. I guess that's the only good thing about this phone.
This phone is meant for kids who need it just for messaging / calling their parents. That's about all it's good for, and that's what I used it for lol I had it for 2 years and it saved me a lot of money and was useful when I needed it. Now i'm finally buying a new phone lol. At least the motorola rival saved me money :)

i had this phone before and it was horrible it broke like a couple days after i had it the slide thing came off, this phone is a peice of shit. the cheapest so called touch screen ever, lol.!
i've had mine for 3 years and i'm finally getting an issue with the screen, it doesn't illuminate, the touch screen buttons still work but you cant see anything, and on the odd chance it works for about an hour, the bottom left side of the screen is dark... never dropped it...

i hate this phone i went through 8 of them in 6 months and finally switched back to the phone i have had since 2007...6 out of the 8 times moto told me it was water damage but thats shiz....it worked fine for a month then the screen froze and i couldnt send messages for up to two hours...and then came the famed "white screen of death"...i finally ended up running over all 8 of the dead ones with my car...true story

I used to have this phone. The only thing I didn't like about this phone is that when I was on a phone call I kept muting myself as my cheek hit the buttons. I now have an iPhone and don't have that problem. I think for a teenager or a preteen this phone would be great,

This phone sucks. It vibrates and cancels out on your tasks. Web surfing is super slow. Never buy the cell phone games because the phone will eventually fuck up. I'm currently on my 5th replacement. Its a good phone if it didn't have any problems. Gee Motorola Rival is a perfect name for this phone....its my fucking "rival" alright....bitch phone.. i have this phone too and i love it!, plus if you tap the camera key on the side it goes to the camera but if you hold it for a second or two it goes to the video recorder and you can still do the whole photo negitive and stuff like that, i would recomend this for somebody that would want a phone for like a year or two, exalent for music and other stuff like that, has somewhat decent ringtones two

This phone blows dick. I have had 4 of them break on me and the one I have now which is brand new is the worst. The camera doesn't startup anymore, its slow and laggy as shit, when you open it or close it it will restart. The only good thing about it is its incredible battery life, it can last a good 3 days. If you can use it that long without smashing it on the pavement. Phones got a great design, best keyboard ive ever used but its functionality is absolute shit...

this phone BLOWS! the menue/ok soft key randomly clicks itself and sends like 30 txts by itself, it goes to the Vcast music and downloads things by itself. ive already gone through one phone because it randomly shut off when my txt inbox got too full. today i finaly got so frustrated and "dropped" my phone at the wall and now the screens all white. all in all the most horrible phone ive ever owned. thinking of upgrading to the LG Ally or the Moto Devoyr... i dont have very high hopes for Moto

@HardGravy Water damage can screw a cell up for a while. Whenever i accidently washed my chocolate 2 it would work fine for a while then it would act up. There might have been more damage than you originally thought. It could have been anything.

This phone has more bugs than the Amazon rain forest. Freezes, random restarts, fails to send texts, screen orientation sometimes does not change appropriately, ect. Motorola is sending me the firmware update cable for free so I can try that, but I'm not holding out much hope as people have already said the new firmware doesn't fix much.

this phones sucks dont get it i have had 3 so far and the first one some buttons didnt work or some touch buttons would be hit without me being near them and i had a red and white background and one day the background flipped upside down the banner and everything and the red turned blue :/ then after that the phones screen would turn white and after turning it off and on several times it would not go back to the original screen it was a neat phone better than my first but not as reliable

I used to have this phone. The only thing I didn't like about this phone is that when I was on a phone call I kept muting myself as my cheek hit the buttons. I now have an iPhone and don't have that problem. I think for a teenager or a preteen this phone would be great,

this phone sucks ass........mine worked a few months then it started freezing, making noise on its own, then finally the on/off button stopped working so i couldn't even turn it on or off..........like the all the other motorola phones i've owned in the past...just suck.......was also intrested in a droid but no......getting a verizon iphone FINALLY

i have this phone :( the screen goes white and it randomly restarts and freezes. plus sometimes the touch sensitive places go without you touching them..which is a pain. i'm getting the droid 2.

I love this phone! I have had it for almost my two years now and never had one single problem. I don't get how a lot of other people have this phone and hate it becuase of "bugs", or "freezing". I haven't had anything go wrong this whole time. But I guess I got one of the good ones :)

ok well this phone does NOT suck! it works really well and the battery life is amazing!!! there is a one year warrinty and ive had it for about 11 months and it finally freezes but verizon sent me a new one!!

This phone sucks. It vibrates and cancels out on your tasks. Web surfing is super slow. Never buy the cell phone games because the phone will eventually fuck up. I'm currently on my 5th replacement. Its a good phone if it didn't have any problems. Gee Motorola Rival is a perfect name for this phone....its my fucking "rival" alright....bitch phone.. I'm thinking about upgrading to the palm pixi..which i heard is also a shit phone. But I like the apps and games on the pixi.

this phone is horrible. the touch sensitive keys have stopped working. and the up and down buttons are like bipolar. (work sometimes and other times dont work). im on my 2nd one of these phones too. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE. of wait you cant from verizon.. they dont sell this piece of shit anymore.

i have this phone too and i love it!, plus if you tap the camera key on the side it goes to the camera but if you hold it for a second or two it goes to the video recorder and you can still do the whole photo negitive and stuff like that, i would recomend this for somebody that would want a phone for like a year or two, exalent for music and other stuff like that, has somewhat decent ringtones two

This phone blows dick. I have had 4 of them break on me and the one I have now which is brand new is the worst. The camera doesn't startup anymore, its slow and laggy as shit, when you open it or close it it will restart. The only good thing about it is its incredible battery life, it can last a good 3 days. If you can use it that long without smashing it on the pavement. Phones got a great design, best keyboard ive ever used but its functionality is absolute shit...

this phone BLOWS! the menue/ok soft key randomly clicks itself and sends like 30 txts by itself, it goes to the Vcast music and downloads things by itself. ive already gone through one phone because it randomly shut off when my txt inbox got too full. today i finaly got so frustrated and "dropped" my phone at the wall and now the screens all white. all in all the most horrible phone ive ever owned. thinking of upgrading to the LG Ally or the Moto Devoyr... i dont have very high hopes for Moto

Phone restarts when it wants to. When i send a text it restarts. I click the end clr button and it restarts. It randomly vibrates and calls people. I got the droid x now. Im done with the rival. this phone was taken off the shelves 2 weeks ago THANK GOD.

on my second rival and have to take it back again tomorrow. First time the touchscreen was being activated without me even touching it. Was sending messages without me pushing buttons.

@HardGravy Water damage can screw a cell up for a while. Whenever i accidently washed my chocolate 2 it would work fine for a while then it would act up. There might have been more damage than you originally thought. It could have been anything.

This phone has more bugs than the Amazon rain forest. Freezes, random restarts, fails to send texts, screen orientation sometimes does not change appropriately, ect. Motorola is sending me the firmware update cable for free so I can try that, but I'm not holding out much hope as people have already said the new firmware doesn't fix much.
