  • i made a back to school inspiration collage on a cereal box! so instead of looking at my cereal box i could be looking at things that inspire me before going to school!

  • she looks like katy perry

  • I make unique jewely.......I crochet different colored crochet cotton threads together in a single crocheted chain..Im going to make one of these from a very long strip of fabric making a crocheted chain..using a K hook i think would work fine. Watching all these making jewelry projects gives me my own ideas..Thanks for your idea.:)

  • ^_^

  • what does here tattoo say?

  • i like it ^^

  • really cool idea, and you could use every kind of fabric, even old clothes! Love the idea, how did she came up with it? And I think she looks a little bit like Katy Perry :P

  • sillly bands!!! Everyone at my school has them so do i but u said to mention something. SOOOOO>>>>> silly bands. Everyone loves them!

  • @laikara000 Me 2

  • 1 hours?

  • ugly

  • @rameen007 this is ugly but it's creative

  • Omg... This was uploaded on the exact SAME day of the NZ earthquake THIS YEAR :(

  • i miss you guys.........

  • this one is way cuter and more awesome than the new TB banger video with the new host with this same thing.

  • She kinda looks like Katty Perry

  • Vigaga provides unique necklaces and pendants, please drop by and take a look

  • she sounds like Mila from project runway (she doesnt look like her though...)

  • you're really pretty

  • she's doing it the hard way.

  • isnt it if you cant buy it, make it?

  • Christopherrobin this might help... sometimes I use a chop stick to get it started. But you have to put the pin in and sew the tip closed then use the chop stick. Hope this helps

  • Hey everyone - if you want to buy fashionable necklace check out the donnaliza collection - it's affordable and looks real! Just search donnaliza on google and youll find it.

  • love the idea. thanks!!! surely will try:-)))

  • gee, im about to kill someone.

these straps are pissin' me off.

    they wont turn inside out

    idk what im frickin doing

  • try a bigger safety pin. it will be easyer to work with. its still very annoying and hard though.

  • or you could always just sew it wider, to make it easyer to turn inside out.

  • Great, i'll try it as soon as it's possible:)

  • u kinda look like katy perry

  • very couture! love it!

  • I would use rat tail cord to turn and fill the little strips.

  • its funny how some people say its horrible & ugly but yet those people will probably wanna wear one when they see people are catching on with the style

    it always happens

  • This is horrible!!! n FREAKY! :Q

  • I'm almost done with mine!

  • Great idea for those long skinny scraps we all have. My suggesteion would be to invest in the quilting roller cutting tool and the plastic big ruler mat thingies that would make this much faster and percise. Also make the strip wider, fold both sides in to the middel, iron then sew 2 seams down the middle and cut between them. Faster and less waste.

  • Could you guys do something with a Masquerade feel for halloween please?

  • could you show how to make fairy wings that droop down sort of like a cloak??

  • oooh I really like the idea for this, But I would make it so that each strand is near the same length so it doesn't look uneven or tangled. Thanks!

  • i agree. i think it would also look good as a scarf and not a necklace

  • i agree penchem. i'm probably gonna make one of those and sew it on to a scarf. then it would be like a scarf/collage necklace... haha i'm so smart =D

  • she looks a little like katy perry :)

  • later could you guys make a tutorial on working with fake fur if you havn't already? My Halloween costume has ALOT.

  • i love it! :) def. trying.

stupid trends at my school. they're all aberzombies.

  • @vcav22 I know right? its soo annoying to get weird looks while wearing something you really like or made >.<

  • Why cut the strips 4cm wide and then cutting off half? Why not just cut the strips 2,5 cm wide and sow near the edge and you don't need to cut!

  • can you show us how to make a little red rideing hood outfit ? thank you

  • yuck

  • Imaginative. However, everything that involves scraps is *not* "collage", all right?

  • looks like she's got a few dreads.

  • This is really cool. I think if I did it, I'd line the different lengths up so they draped naturally, though... I'm not so into the "tangled" look.

  • I didn't care for the tangled thing either--looks like she messed it up.

  • awwe she is really good! 5 stars! I love her clothes!! good for herr!

  • LOVE it!=)

  • i want to be Pocahontas for halloween :)

    any DIY suggestions??

  • get a giant brown shirt, make a bunch of two-inch-long cuts along the edges of the sleeves and bottom, cut a v-neck into it, and tie a length of brown/black fabric around your waist

    tada?

that's the simplest thing i could think of...

  • i just made one with scraps, thank you so much for the video! great tips!

  • I'm inspired. Looking through some scraps...

  • COOL :)

  • very nice!

  • hey threadbanger can u make a video showing how to create distress jeans look plz :)

    thnks

  • omg ..I LOVE THISSS SOOO OH SOO MUCH!

  • I really want to go as "Columbia" from Rocky Horror Picture Show. I would like to know how to make the gold jacket from the Time Warp dance. I thought maybe it would be cool to make one out of an old suit jacket, but I don't know how to get started. :(

    Help me, please? :)

  • you could buy an old suit jacket in a charity shop and fabric spray paint it so that it gets the gold look...then you could spray the lapel black. sequins can be expensive :)

  • The jacket I was thinking of has a tail, and I'm not sure how to go about making it.

  • Buy it?

    Haha.

    Or sequin it in gold.

  • The point of threadbanger is to make your own stuff, instead of buying everything. Plus, I love making my own things, because it's fun.

  • bahaha! my cuz was Columbia from rocky horror for her 21st, she wore a hand made costume

  • police costume for halloween

  • A trippy Alice in Wonderland dress or costume would be amazing.

  • zomg! yesh!!!! I would love to see an alice in wonderland costume vid!!! not exactly for halloween, but I need an idea for an upcoming cosplay event, so it would really help

  • i would wear this(: thank you!!!!

  • I kno this has NOTHING to do with this vid, even tho i thought the necklace was awesome. Heres my pitch for an episode idea, Smocking! Theres a bunch of different techniques that i use, infact Shirin From PR won the maternity challenge with a cute smocked out dress. Ive never done the style Shirin did, but i'd love to learn. Also some people mistake ruching for a style of smocking im not sure why. Either way, theres my pitch. =]

    ~AJ Flo

p.s. THANK YOU MEG FOR REPLYING TO MY LAST COMMENT <3

  • For halloween, could you please do a segment on how to look like a puppet?

  • I second this! I'd love to see something like that!

  • ahhh it's alright but so not worth the work imho

  • An Alice in Wonderland costume is a must for Halloween! Please do a tutorial!

  • I request a Alice in Wonderland costume tutorial please!!!!! I could wear it for halloween aaaand also wear it for the premier of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland next march! Pleasseeeeee pretty pretty pleaseeeeeeee

  • Holloweeny Wednesdays!!!!! WoooHooo!!!

  • you can also make a turning tool out of a coat hanger. just make a mostly closed j loop on the end of a piece of coat hanger with a needle nose plier.you can pull the clothes pin with the loop (or if you are very deft, you can hook the fabric with the loop and pull the fabric through without a pin on the end...you get more fabric onto the clothes hanger and it goes much quicker.

  • Thank you for sharing this technique!

  • i'd like to see a tutu tutorial for halloween.

  • HINT: i do these with jersey , and you dont have to sew them, just pull your strip until it curls.

  • heck why not i kinda like it. i think i'm going to make one. with the right colors and the right shirt with it i think it could be really cute. its nice to have different things.

  • if it was more layered and the colors mached better, it'd be cooler. but, i gotta admit, it is VERY unique!

  • That... looked like crap.

  • I actually think that looks pretty neat.

  • i wanna see a sweater dress tutorial! perfect for fall!

  • SOCK MONKEY!!

  • Blazers are a good back to school item and they're in at the moment but how can I alter the sleeves (like to crop) without ruining the linning at the cuff?

By the way, interesting project but not something that will earn you any fashion points, far too tatty (and not in a good way).

  • I love meg....and her little dog too!!!!

  • Dude you guys should totally make a video on DIY headbands. Like those really cool feathered ones dulcecandy wore in one of her videos? love em. DIY!!!!

  • i think it looks cool man.. :O it kinda reminds me of a snazzed out scarf but still cool

  • A rag....ugh-no.

  • reminds me of dreads o.O

  • yup i enjoy this

  • That is possibly one of the ugliest things I have ever seen in my life..... no really. I love threadbanger, but this was a bad bad project...

  • um no thnx

  • I would really like to see an animal suit much like the ones Harajuku girls wear but in the form of a cat or ferret or something like that

  • it would be so cool if you show us a tutorial about

how to make a pen case :D, you know back to school ;]

  • That's pretty snazzy!

  • lo0ved the turning inside out thing.

    so usefull

  • I"m totally going to try to do this. IT's very nice.

  • it might not be for everyone but i actually like it alottt, the great thing about it is that you can switch it up a bit to make it your style, maybe you might only want like 5 strands. i'm totally going to it for me and my friends and get rid of alllllll my scraps thanks threadbanger

  • i think its quite cute

i'm just gonna use less strands in colours that go nice together and add stuff like metal beads and charms

  • hell yea, beads would look way kool!

  • yeah, I've got to admit it... kind of lame.

Maybe if the strands were tubular and there were less of them. Maybe if you braided them into a belt. At least now I know how to make spagetti straps.

The skirt in the beginning was cool.

  • her studio looks really cool

  • listen to all these haters... i think its a realy cool easy project that is great because you use your scraps, it also looks great if you choose the right fabrics to put together. great project.

  • i think it'd make a pretty cool headband actually.. i mean obviously not using AS MANY strands.. but yeah

    threadbanger is the shit :)

  • awwh it's pretty cute :)

    thanks threadbanger!

  • I think I'm going to make myself one of these necklaces.

  • Despite the overwhelming "that's ugly" I've been seeing, I actually kinda like it. But I don't think I could do all of that in an hour. Maybe 3.

  • The point is not to wear things that look like you made them yourself...least of all a first grader.

  • i would love a native american halloween costume!

  • ummm, this one is kinda craptacular...defiantly not one I'll be .

  • for halloween: a ninja costume! :D

  • I second the nija costume!

  • That is very time consuming for such a boring looking tangle of fabric.

  • thats not really my style.

    its just looks to...idk.

but i dont like it much.

    just my opinion.

  • Not bad, but I think it's too time consuming, with the safty-pin thing.

  • yo tube socks, the clothes you got from last year, and a smile. Straight from Brooklyn.

  • Im sorry but that was very ugly

  • I like this idea, it's very versatile. Wish I had a sewing machine at school with me!

  • coollllll!... but there is no way you can finish that in an hour!!!!!!!!!!

    Love it!

  • really cute look.

  • how about teaching us how to make a military vest?

  • turning 15 to 20 strands right side out with a safety pin= Very time consumming!

  • it goes a lot faster if you have a turnaround tool. they come in sets of different sized metal tubes and then you use a long metal wire with a curl on the end to turn them rightside out.

  • Can you please make a how to sew netting tutorial for Halloween? That would be awesome.

  • she looks a little bit like zooey deschannel...

    cool necklace!!

  • either her or katy perry

  • holy dam :\ 1 hour ..

Try like 3 if you want like 25 good strands !!

  • This would be cute if you used a solid and one that has a design, and make it smaller and more layered looking so it doesn't look like a mess. I do like the urban look of it though ^-^

  • I haven't liked the last few how-to's =\

I kinda want to see more clothing how-to's. Most of the back-to-school stuff they're showing isn't really anything I'd ever want to wear =S

  • this thing is so time consuming and so not worth it . It really is not cute at all!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very veryyyyy true.

  • johnny depp mad hatter!, yay

  • ... That is hella ugly... hahaha and it just bothered me alot that it said "1 hours". It's not plural -__-

  • i would like to know how to work with PVC / Vinyl materials for Halloween can you do a tutorial on that?

  • ive made one actually is not cute AT ALL!

it kinda just looks really messy and ugly

  • shes said it backwards its if you cant buy it make it

not if you cant make it buy it..

  • She said "If you can't make it, buy it" because she wants people to buy them from her Etsy shop.

  • I LOOOOVE it!!!! Amazing idea, I've seen necklaces like that at Urban Outfitters but it would be nice to make your own with the colors you want. Thank you and great job explaining how to make it, I'm gonna check out the etsy shop!

  • Can you do Mrs. Lovett costume!!! From the movie!! Please and thank you!

  • i think this would take longer than an hour. kinda looks like electrical cords.

    It is pretty original though.

half of all the the fabric when into those seam allowances!

  • okay so...

i dont have a sewing machine...

but i just made this neclace out of T-shirt

i cut the tee into the long strips and pulled them tight so they rolled up and look kinda like the strands she made.

then i finished it by handsewing the ends.

    it looks seriously bomb!

    thanks!

  • can u make a powerpuff girls costume?

    or an 80s inspired costume?

  • DISNEY!!!! Please do something with a disney theme! Actually Disney is the theme of my homecoming dance haha

But I think some disney prnicess outfits would be cool.

    I love the necklace! =)

  • 1:04 says 1 Hours!

  • I flipping LOVE the idea for and Alice in wonderland/ Where the wild things are costumes...if you did those, I just might have to virtually serenade you....

DID I EVER TELL YOU YOU'RE MY HERO? .....I could go on, or you could just show us how to make those costumes...either way, it's a win win..:)

  • that's so cute!

and i agree with the alice dress!

    i plan on being her!

  • There is a terrific tool called a "fast turn" that you can turn those tubes of fabric in a zip.

  • YAY!! DIY Friday!!

This project looks fun. I'll have to try it!

  • Very nice! I'm so going to make that during my long weekend! Thank you! :D

  • I mean, alice in wonderland would be great--but what about a wolf suit for Where the Wild Things Are?

  • YES!!!!!

  • hmm i tottally agreee with the ppl who suggested alice in wonderland dress ^_^

  • Alice from Alice in Wonderland dress!!!!!!! :D

  • oo a cute victorian costume would be great!!!!! or mod :D

  • wanna try this out! thanks

  • i would love to see threadbanger do a project that was rated at the "death" difficulty LOL

  • haha yeah i don't think i've seen them doing anything more difficult than DIYer4life

  • I think they've done a death one before, I don't remember which one.

  • 1 hours

  • Alice in Wonderland

    And

    A Newspaper dress ;D

You guy's rock, keep on keeping on

  • can u show how to make a hippie like fortune teller person?

  • In bright colors, this necklace would looks stellar. :) also in black and white patterned strips, methinks.

  • i would really like to see how to make a dress like the type that alice wheres in alice in wonderland witch could also be used for dorthy and snow white.

  • Oh yes! I second missmasterman request! I've been searching for a Alice in wonderland Alice's dress tutorial but I can't seem to find one!

Please make a halloween video on Alice's dress from Alice in wonderland !!!!

  • btw, her tattoo means "truth".

I'd like to see some costumes from other time periods, i.e: flapper, victorian, mod

  • I appreciate Desira Pesta showing up a new design, but I must say it looks like the bad kind of handmade.

I would love to see tasteful and creative accessories that I could were to the office.

  • well,isnt it just ugly...............?

  • it would be really cool if you did a cave person costume =]
