Did you try out Twittelator? I prefer it over twitterific :)

hint: I saw you insert the fullstop via the old fashion way. Just a trick i learnt from the iPhone 3G guided tour - You can Tap the spacebar TWICE when you want to finish the sentence. iPhone will insert the fullstop and capitalize your next word :P
