@hls1108 not all roommates showed up at the same time. You will be allocated an apartment and roommates. You will not know these things until you arrive, at least that was back in 2006 the case.
It was from Aug'06-Jan'07, and the room I stayed in was the one on the front door side. The room of which the bathroom also connects to the hallway. Don't know if it was 1 or 2. When were you there?
@gpturner0924 Hope you didn't find yourself in a huge mess. I recall not leaving the place as clean as it should've been, not my fault though. And I forgot my Stitch-Polynesian Resort magnet on the refrigerator :(
@davidhabnit I was the last roommate to arrive, so the others took care of cleaning before I got there... They said it was a mess and one of them just told me to thank you for the magnet... It was a staple in our time there... You leaving that reminds me of my Disney College Program hoodie, which I left on top of the car after I got home and it flew off on the road...
@gpturner0924 really sorry about the mess (really couldn't help it though), I was quite worried when I left. Glad you enjoyed having the magnet around, I guess leaving that was in part paying my debt then. Sorry about your hoodie, it is always a sad thing when you loose something fun and unique I guess.
Wow, this conversation just made me really melancholic for those good'ol Disney days. :)
@davidhabnit I'm planning on doing another DCP... I'm not sure if you are or not, but you seem like a cool guy and I would like to get to know you and become friends...
@gpturner0924 I wish it was that easy for me :) Since I am European (Dutch actually) I do not have that easy access to living and working in the US. I am almost done with my Master program (in Sweden) and I am hoping to get a job with the Mouse. Perhaps the future will bring me back to the US, but I think I first need to try to work in Paris, which could be a very interesting challenge. So, maybe our paths will cross eventually :) you never know.
I'm totally excited to start this program. I live in Daytona Beach but I'm always in Orlando so I'm a local kid but I was wondering where is Patterson Court?? Im going into a 1 bedroom apartment and I heard that Patterson is brand new... so I'm really excited. There werent any 2 bedroom apartments left and living with 5 other people was like too much lol so I said 1 bedroom 1 room mate, which is fine with me :)
im going to vista way this january and im going to get a 1 room apartment with my friend and i was wondering if the 1 room apartment are like in the top part of the building or its next to like the more than 1 room apartment
All the standard stuff like the bed, and the couch, but also most kitchen utensils are already there.
Cleaning equipment you can borrow from the club house.
Pretty much most things have been taken care of. All you need is bedding and stuff like a personal reading light next to your bed of you'd want that, or an alarm clock. The basics are there.
when i was on my program i def lived in 16302.. right across the HALL! :D hehe and we had good friends who lived right below you... well they dont anymore... but lol :)
Cool!! thanks for posting!! Im going there this summer as a Culinary Student, I really cant wait man! Wich "dorm" would you prefer?? that one or Vista??
Well, Vista Way is always busy with people (so chances of it being loud and crazy is bigger than at Chatham). It is a little older than the others as well.
Ahhh, this video brings back memories of my program! Our apartments are identical, except you lucked out and got a balcony. (Ours looked like they took out the balcony and just extended the living room.) What building is that? I was in 30. Good times, good times.
cant find my old address exaclty but it was definiatley 16 something, second floor, left hand side as face the front stair well from the street.. 2005 or 2006 was the year.. stayed in the second room, non master..luckly all of my room mates were quite neat, non rowdy, and respectful of otehrs needs and such as far as lights out, sleep, etc.,... I foolishly cut mine short, but left on otherwise good standings I beileve...
As you walk up the hallway from the stairs, there were 2 apts on each side. Those in the front had balconies, as they were facing the front and had a view. Those in the back, however, were built with an extended living room because they faced the fence that marked the boundary of the complex, therefore not offering such a good view. That being said, I believe you lived in 16203...

I think we got a Fairly good TV from property control for 50 bucks. I sold it back for a profit at the end of my CP too, so it worked out. lol

I am leaving in two days for the CP and this has been really helpful. Which complex did you film this video?

This was Chatham Square, definitely my favorite complex :)

Well...Chatham for sure. Vista Way was a little to crazy for me, though it wouldn't have been a problem if I'd lived over there.
davidhabnit 4 years ago
what do you mean exactly??

Well, Vista Way is always busy with people (so chances of it being loud and crazy is bigger than at Chatham). It is a little older than the others as well.
davidhabnit 3 years ago
Chatham is the way to go. It is a lot nicer than Vista. Also they have a new complex next door to Chatham. Check that out if you can!

I think I've decided that I REALLY want to do the CP when I get into college of course. I just have to learn more about everything.

The apartments with the extended living rooms never had balconies. They were always extended living rooms. I stayed in this very apartment, 16301...
