@stiles201 Does your notebook have any kind of third party graphics?Like Ati or Nvidia graphics?If so,given your cpu and ram you should be able to run Oblivion fairly decent.If you do not have any kind of third party graphics it may lag considerably.

It's an AMD Phenom 2 Six Core Processor, 1.5 terabyte hard drive, AMD Radeon 6450 512MB graphics card, and all my friends said my pc won't even have to breathe to play Crysis 2. I didn't build it myself since I'm all about instant gratiication, and plus I have no idea how to put a pc together. So honestly, i'd recomend going along my route, especially if you....

Oh and by the way, when I say I recomend that you go along my route, all I'm referring to are the specs. So if you decide to build it yourself, don't cheap out. Get a six core processor ;) and a decent graphics card.

@crailberry I got a Six Core, Baddass Motherboard, GeForce GT X460 1GB Video Card, 1 Terabyte Storage, 8GB of Ram, and I built it myself. It runs Oblivion on high settings with LOD Mods like its nothing, and I got it for around the same price as yours. Actually less if you exclude the monitor I bought with it. Usually getting the parts yourself is more bang for your buck, but I did think about buying it pre-built.

@XcrazyX10 every aspect of the game is better than the console versions, draw distance is insane on the PC version.

Look at a few of the visual enhancing mods out there for PC oblivion like 'OGE' which makes oblivion look like crysis with god rays, depth of field, motion blur. Then look at quarls texture pack which increases the resolution of texture rediculously and it's a completely different game.

The console versions fail.

there is a few versions of it.

I believe the redimized version made it easier on your graphics card, and so was better, but then there were files found in the download which were unnecessary, and so a FURTHER version was released which trimmed the filesize down. Read the download comments on Nexus to find out more though.

@xFYCNxTATTIE I have HDR and AA enabled. Enable HDR in the game but go to your Nvidia control panel if you have it. In there, look under the Manage 3D settings tab. Look for Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion in the list and in the box, select Anti-aliasing- Mode Override application setting and under it, choose how much AA you want.

Game looks great maxed out but shadows could look better, and i found how. if you go to your oblivion.ini and look at the shadow res or texture size or sumtin like dat and change it from 128 to like 4096 it's a HUGE difference. TRY IT
