    I like.

  • Some of the numbers sound similar to the numbers in Swedish.

  • Fifty is spelled wrong, its supposed to be Fimmtíu, there's a missing "m" there. I also have the feeling that this woman isnt icelandic, since she sometimes has a weird dialect.

  • @Turpezor

    hún er íslensk dude

Farðu á facebook og leitaðu af henni

    Eva Natalja Robertsdottir ,

maður þarf víst ekki að vera Vinur til að skoða myndir af henni

    frá vestmanneyjum, Stendur í lýsingu

Bio: Eva Natalja Robertsdattir is a native Icelandic speaker and has given language and singing lessons for more than 5 years.

  • I like how "viking" is one of the tags.

  • 16: sex town !

  • Why does she have to look down at her notes? Does she not have the numbers memorized in her native language? =P

  • O.o is it just me or is six spelled sex?

  • @lpsrocks2007

    it sure is.

  • Does she really have to look down at the paper to see what number is next?

  • Bingooooo !!!!!

  • Np iceland

  • Pause at 0.21

  • 17 = SATAN

  • @d1daa theyre from the same root language, essentially... you gotta go back centuries tho

  • if you think these numbers are easy, just wait until the erratic declinations!

  • thank you for the video! I know Swedish and I never realized how similar it is to Icelandic~!

  • @janna25 Of course it's similar! Icelandic is the ancient scandinavian (viking) language that was spoken nearly 1000 years ago in the whole Scandinavia. It's the base of the whole scandinavian languages. It sounds different from other northern languages because the island wasn't influenced by other cultures and invasions that's why it preserved its originality. ( All the islanders are ethnic norwegians)

  • Sextán (16) pronouce as "Sex town".

  • Ok... So is there or is there not an SH sound in icelandic? 'Cause various sources differ in opinion on this particular subject.

And if there is, is it a Voiceless retroflex fricative [ʂ] or a Voiceless postalveolar fricative [ʃ] ??

  • ertu frá íslandi kanski?

  • I wish there were recordings of people talking(not for learning purposes) in Icelandic.I don't know why but languages are not only fascinating to me, but soothing as well

  • She couldn't say sex without smiling.

  • She totally wants to be our groupie. She says so, by counting to six.

  • wow what a bad ass country... six=sex, i bet like... 100 means suprise buttsex ore something.

  • @masterhroi98 Þú ert Íslenskur. Góður

  • @masterhroi98 still wondering why peope think 666 is the devil's number? :)

  • @masterhroi98 still wondering why people think 666 is the Devil's number? :)

  • I will make you a SIX that you would never forget!!!

  • sixty sounds like "sext you"... xD

  • @Antikeimenos23 Haha no she didn´t :D she said Sautján!

  • icelandic must have it's similarities with middle english

  • @devilred1971 Icelandic is basically Old (West) Norse, and English was influenced by Norse during the Viking Age. That's why they have those similarities.

  • LOL i love this language but this is funny... just keep pressing 2 for more sex

  • Six....SEX!!! Lmfao who knew?! XD

  • I love the fact that Norweigan, Swedish, Danish and somewhat icelandic sound the same. The numbers are nearly exactly the same.

  • I remember we met in Buford at a little coffee shop, You told me You taught Icelandic on line. At that time I had never gone on line. You asked me to do for you and rewarded me for such Natalja, look at your keys. The memories you bring back of my Amma are priceless. And the keeping of our Icelandic language too. Many thanks ! P.S. I am using my friends computer.

  • @spacerat17 já

  • 1:44 - Satan? :D

Numbers are more like the German order when you come up to 11-19 for example.

    Much alike though...

And i'm trying to find a Icelandic course here in Sweden but cant find any so i have to stick with this.

    Good videos though.

    Skàl !

  • I wonder how many people clicked this because "sex" is on the thumbnail.

  • Why does she need to look down? It's a sequence of numbers....shouldn't she just follow it, without the use of a script?

  • perfect teeth ftw=)

  • icelandic sounds like dutch-haguan speaken by 17th century people

  • @helgimar867 thanks

  • This is ridiculous. Didnt realize swedish had such a close resemblence to icelanding.

  • @peronkop icelandic is relatet to swedish, norwegian, finnish, danish and forean.

  • This is the wierdest language. It's germanic but it sounds so different from English. All the vowels are really hard to say and everything is really nasally.

  • Well Sex to you Too....2:31

  • @KingGingerbread5O

LOL. i bet u rather sex her up.

  • Lol, it sounds a lot like Dutch too. I love it when germanic languages really are looking a lot like each other :p

  • twenty=tühtügü XD

  • Sounds harder then estonian

  • @suurpunane

It depends on what your native tongue is. Since my native tongue is English, which shares the same Germanic roots as Icelandic, I'm finding a lot more similarities than when looking at Estonian.

  • How do you say "Iceland is exterminating certain Whale populations?"

  • @mrceebees14 íslendingar eru að útrýma áhveðnum hvalstofnum :D

  • @SGfannr1 Go eat a rotten Shark.

  • @mrceebees14

  • 666 the number of the beaast ooh girl XD

  • We icelanders like the sex xD

  • @Ferboman how often do you have sex?xD

  • Lol. There is a cut after five. How many tries did it take to say 6 while keeping a straight face?

And what are you reading between the numbers? Don't you know them by heart? Or is it to give a more authoritative impression, like teaching from the book?

    Anyway, these are excellent videos.

  • You know what's big fun? The way she looks up what to say next in the paper..

  • beautiful language! Just I don't know why "ll" is spoken as "dl" or "dly"

  • I think I'm alright with the icelandic r, because it's like the portuguese r, but all the other foreign sounds make this language seem really formidable - which is why I'll be throwing my spare time at it for a while now I hope.

  • Alomst like swedish!
