I was so fucking depressed today, and finding this song completely turned my day around. That's something only amanda palmer can do..and I knew it was her voice right when it came up on stereomood. Oh. My. God.
Whilst reading all the people who wrote 'it made me emotional' I thought "Bah humbug!" - until near the end, when it smashed through my icy shell like a freight train of emotion. Good stuff.
Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman belong to a cult that opposes free speech and free movement. Scientology runs prison camps for its members, litigates enemies into silence and is responsible for suicides and suspicious deaths worldwide. Gaiman grew up being audited and intimidated himself and is used to lying. He may not even realize he’s a hypocrite. Scientology persecutes gay men and woman, by supporting Prop 8 in CA along with so many crazy scams and crimes I can’t list here.
@GarthAlgar567. To me her voice is quite perfect actually. I'd rather not hear another christina aguilera or beyonce or mariah carey or what have you for this particular voice part. She sings it in the exact way that makes it actually reach my heart.
What a beautifully real song for the day. I found myself looking at it as a modern version of The Who's character Tommy. In this case there's no boy left deaf, dumb, and blind. He's gone - With a mortally chilling sense of never coming back. And after "they" left his room "Exactly" you could taste the precision of finishing the thought with the line "like Origami". But it was perfectly never spoken.
This song now belongs in my TOP favorite best if of history in the whole wide world. Can't expect less when two of my favorite musicians make a duo. :)
It is so hauntingly beautiful, the helplessness and the painful hoping is so perfectly matched by both the lyrics, the tune and the vocals... Nothing has touched me the way this song has
i was very sad and angry all day, than i heard this... i'm still very sad,but it doesnt matter, this song is so good and beautiful that i cant stop listening to it.... its almost 4 am,god i cant stop:D
Check out my video if you get a chance covering this song. I actually posted before this one haha lol My version is nothing compared to the amazing Ben and Amanda though. Great job you two! :)
You forgot to mention Ben Folds...as it is HIS voice. :) He is one of the major contributors to this album as well. Gotta love when my favorite artist works with one of my favorite authors. :)
@Drjanalori I'm a huge fan of Ben and his voice is amazing. Soemdays I wish I could be in his shoes. I try to play and sing as best as I can like him but nothing compares. If you can check out my cover of "Because the Origami" and pass it on that would be cool. Go to my channel it's there both in video and studio mixed audio version! :)

I LOVE this song. It was written in only a few hours for the Rethink Music Conference in response to the question: A way that love goes wrong?
