  • Anybody reads the description before posting a comment?

  • The YouTube policy doesn't make sense, as you say, if it isn't consistent, but you saved the day with a great musical score. Well done!

  • Wow! People really cannot read... Anyway, frankensplean thanks for sharing. The dancing is great, no matter the music.

  • ARE YOU SERIOUS!? WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO THE MUSIC!?!?!?!

  • @dpnowell You can't read

  • WMG gets a big fail all around. The purchased soundtrack off of iTunes has several terrible edits and mislabeled tracks. If the dicks are going to be so crazy anal as to prevent third party internet postings, the least they could do is a little quality control on their own product.

  • Leave the original music, moron!

  • @1962HILTON read the description, idiot.

  • this sucks , the music distracts you from the actual video , could u atleast either cut the music out and put the words underneath or choose a weaker song . thankyou

  • "addendum: Why in blazes is this a "featured video" now??"

    hhaha i know right!

  • I don't understand why people like them had to go so early, having all the strenght in their bodies, with all that exercise, and people who don't live forever. How is that?

But they will live forever through these videos.

  • i think that gene kelly might have a future in dancing!

  • @jeryd2003 *LOL*!!!

  • I actually like the music....it sounds like a score but also kinda classical, who is it by?

  • Thanks for the waste of time!

  • oh you know the clip ' say, say, say from: Michael Jackson & Paul MCcartney?

    they got it from this!

    I didn't knew that

  • Can anyone tell me what the move from 1:33 to 1:37 is called?

  • Preesyadkee. It is a Cossack dancing move.

  • it's a step done in a lot of russian cossack dancing. i have no idea what the actual name is. it's probably something in russian

  • That was mezmerising, frankensplean. Brilliant work. How did you know your choice of song would work so well over their dance sequence? Was it by accident?

  • FUCK the WMG FUCK

  • Fuck you WMG. Let us listen to music you fuckers.

  • When people are looking for a video like this, they are searching to watch AND listen. I think we should rate this badly because it serves only half of it's purpose without the audio.

This is the equivalent of youtube poop.

  • DizzyHips is right. You Killed It

  • what's the point without the real soundtrack? Congrats- you just turned one of the greatest music and dance routines of all time into crap

  • Actually, Dizzy Hips, if you read my description, the video was going to get pulled if I didn't remove the copyrighted audio track. i figured video alone was better than nothing. Thanks for the unnecessary criticism.

  • there are other videos on youtube of this. just pull it, and stop wasting peoples' time.

  • So that would mean it's not your's to post?

  • @frankensplean might as well just remove it, the video alone is NOT better than nothing

  • @frankensplean i dont think DizzyHips can read :)

  • @frankensplean I'd rather not even have it on youtube

  • @DizzyHips This is ridiculous, as you say, what is the point, without original music, like showin Judy Garland singing over the rainbow, but having stairway to heaven playing,,, too too stupid, this video, needs removing

  • Screw copyright laws, though this new music is hilarious with the choreography :)))

  • 1:28 so good

  • Trivia:

Astaire and Kelly (5'7"or 8") had different builds but weighed the same, Astaire,140 (5'9") would do anything to "knock off five pounds" before filming. On Singing in the Rain, (Gene age 40) Donald O'Conner said, "I weighed 118, Gene was 145." Kelly stated he "arrived in Hollywood twenty pounds overweight and strong as an ox," after his long cross country Honeymoon car trip following the run of Pal Joey. He quickly knocked off 20 pounds to get back into fighting trim 138-140.

  • I love that scene. Of course now in order to be an actor you have to be good looking, with no talent! Very few actors today are talented, but there are many that need to retire early.

  • I agree. Talent - what the heck is that these days? Just pretending to act like someone else - big deal. Not that hard for most of us.

  • You can see Gene's training..his upper body doesn't flinch at all - all the strength is in his lower body - the mark of a truly pro. One of a kind, thank you for posting.

  • 1:11 - 1:16 OMGAD i've always loved that part :D

  • actors in those days were DEFINATLY more talented than the ones now :D

  • I wonder how many takes that took to get

  • Yes, I think a lot, but you must think, they are great... I would love to dance like that...

  • only 3

  • Whats with the freaky voice at the end that is NOT Gene Kelly's? XD

  • i slowed down the end bit because the crowd was inexplicably booing. :)

That's what Kelly sounds like at 50% speed (or so).

  • OH! wow.

  • This is the effin' best thing in all musical history.

  • Why would people boo this? I would pay lots to see this show

  • well i don't think they were really playing.... so that must have been weird for the audience to see some great dancers...but people who really weren't playing the instruments.

  • me too!!! It is fantastic!!

  • Damn I like the 1:11 part!

  • my fav part 2!

  • the entire thing is amazing!

but yeah that part is awesome

  • haha their fingers aren't moving!!

  • their cheesy grins at the end are so funny combined with the boos, but then Gene Kelly's grin is always adorable. I don't know what is wrong with that audience! It was awesome and fun. I like when they are on the floor kicking their legs out.

  • ha ha they both equal each other here. It's remarkable how their steps and movements match each other so well! But then Donald O' Connor is a talented dude for the great Gene Kelly to partner with. A lot of times Gene is so much better than his partners and he has to work with them.

  • i luv Gene Kelly and Donald O' Connor and this is my number one favorite movie....omg Gene Kelly rocks my freakin socks off and Donald O' Connor is amazing

  • lol it really sounded like it xD

  • Could Donald O'Connor play the violin? His fingers seemed to move sometimes on the chords while Kelly's were immobile. If not, he does a good job fooling everyone that he can. :)

  • i *think* Kelly was more the man-with-the-plan (and a jazzy tap dancer, of course), while O'Connor's more the white version of Sammy Davis Jr, a multi-talent on a truely vaudevillian scale, as his family history suggests.

Growing up in a musical Irish family? Yeah, i bet he could play violin! :)

  • Actually, I read in GK's autobiography that he actually did play the violin when he was younger.

  • @frankensplean apprently O'Conner grew up in a vaudevillian family were the parents use to work for a circus , so explaining his dancing in 'make em laugh ' check out Imb

  • donald o' conneer is much better than gene kelly i just prefer his style. and he is a much neater dancer

  • lol it's actually "feel like a feather floating on air."

  • Maybe I'll do a duet to this song...

  • so funny at the end that the audience booed them, its actually sad to me.

anyway, great song and choregraphy, great musical, 10000/5 stars!

  • Sad and yet a wry observation on public tastes. There's also the intention to display the unbridled optimism of Kelly's character.

  • The whole movie is a wry criticism of some of the same problems we have with the entertainment industry today. Sometimes I can't tell how minute of a detail was leveled as a criticism. I love this movie.

  • I like the dance for the song! :D

  • The cool thing about this is that its all real, there is no computer generated graphics, its all real people dancing. But neither of them actually played the fiddle, all they did was dance and pretend to play, but still their dancing skills are phenomonal. Truly a gold mine of talent.

  • This IS my favorite Singin' in the Rain number. I wish I could dance like they could!

  • Their choreography is incredible, so smooth and well done, I mean at 1:10 they are so smooth with what they do it almost looks like they are floating as they do that square step. Such a good movie with great choreography.

  • Yeah 1:10 is AMAZING love this film

  • That's right. I just watched this so that I could be the first to comment. Terrible roommate am I.
