Merlin was hilarious in this week's episode. I laughed so hard when Uther asks him if he's suffering from some mental affliction. Priceless.

Arthur's mum was the Lady Igraine, who was raped by Uther Pendragon, disguised by magic as her husband. Morgana (Morgan Le Fey) was the daughter of the Lady Igraine. Morgan Le Fey was supposed to be the evil one. She seduces Arthur (he doesnt know they're related) and gives birth to the son of Arthur (INCEST!) who's called Mordred, although Arthur himself marries Guinevere (meaning blondie in old english lol. seriously).

Watch the merlin miniseries with Sam Neil. That was the best ever merlin.

The character Merlin seems to be a mix of Dumbledore and Frank Spencer.

It will probably turn out Numueh is Authur's mum.

I really enjoy the programme but it just seems that every episode is too similar - new person appears, the king suspects nothing, someone realises they're a 'sorcerer', king doesn't believe it, merlin saves the day...

Reminds me of every episode of house. Person gets sick, gets better, gets sick again, almost dies from treatment, almost has operation, has some stupid little thing wrong and is fixed to go home for tea.

True but this doesn't follow some of the other versions of this fable, for example, Mordred was Arthur and Morgana's child.

maybe they just haven't revealed it yet. Maybe morgana was doing the shrooms for a year in her early teens (possibly because of her father's death), she drugged and boinked Art under the influence, and popped a baby into the woods. The shrooms were enchanted, making her forget everything. It also explains why Mordred turns out to be a crack baby

It's great to find another fan of Merlin. Everyone else in my family says it's crap, but I love it. Have you seen every episode so far? Which was your favourite? Mine is still the first episode, especially our first sighting of Arthur.

I really liked episode 4 'The Poisoned Chalice' and I think that this weeks was amazing aswell. The show seems to be finding its stride now and I love it :D next weeks looks even better!

ok, not many will agree, but I liked Lancelot the most.

The Poisoned Chalice was very good too.

I absolutely hated Arthur at our first sighting of him, couldn't stand him I wished that Merlin would turn him into a toad or something :D

I'll be honest- I didn't like him at first. Then Morgana slagged him off behind his back in Valiant. I have overheard people slagging me off when they think I can't hear, so I know how Arthur felt. Then I looked at Episode 1 again, and found my perspective had changed- I now find the target scene HILARIOUS!
