Just because a sport is tough doesn't make is amazing to watch, I don't particularly love rugby. Although saying NFL hit harder is total BS, since I watch both on a regular basis, plus we havn't ever needed steroids for our players.

The US didn't give up. They just never really bothered with the sport because they had football (US football, not soccer) which they found a lot more interesting. In poorer nations, they play soccer because they don't know any better and it's easier to play since all you really need is a soccer ball to play it while football requires a lot more equipment.
It's kind of like video games. In poor nations they play bootleg NES games because they don't know any better (again, lower standards) while in the US, we have the xbox 360, ps3, etc.

Once upon a time that was true - over the last few years rugby players have got so much bigger there is actually talk of padding having to come into rugby! - as it stands now (given that the tackling styles are entirely different) the rugby players would probably be harder hitters (IF you allow for the fact the tackling styles are different)

Wow. I laugh everytime I watch soccer because the players fall on purpose and act like they're hurt to get a foul, only to get up and sprint 5 seconds later. Soccer players are the winey pussies. All they do is kick, no skills with their hands. In a fight, unrealistic that a fight would ocurr, football players would send futbol pansies gasping to their grave.

Also, I've watched Rugby and rugby sucks ass. Football is an improved version of Rugby. In Rugby when someone gets tackled they just pick up the ball and keep playing which removes the whole strategic aspect that football has. Not to mention, they can only pass the ball backwards which is also a dumb rule which makes the game even more boring.

And '2', it's just YOUR opinion. I can say my Math class is interesting, can you prove me wrong? What you can't do is say football is not a real sport. Look at all the nations poor at football, yet still consider football as the number one sport. They didn't give up, ignore the sport and pretend it never existed, then using the name for a new sport.

The US didn't give up. They just never really bothered with the sport because they had football (US football, not soccer) which they found a lot more interesting. In poorer nations, they play soccer because they don't know any better and it's easier to play since all you really need is a soccer ball to play it while football requires a lot more equipment.

This time it was Erickkson and Beckham. Isn't it funny because the goals in wc 06 were mostly set up by becks?
