@yak55x This is being driven from a microcontroller just to show the algorithm works, I have used it in stand alone systems without a PC at all but it could potentially be used with a PC via the USB that is true.

Nothing to show really, the propeller just provides step and direction signals (two wires) to a commercial stepper driver. That requires only power (24dc in this case) and there are four wires from that to the motor.

This is cool. do you have a list of the hardware you used? I was thinking of creating a slider like that but I don't know where to start other than the stepper motor.
