If I had to name my all time favourite scene in any period drama, or in any romance, this would almost certainly be it. Just exquisite.

How I wished there were still parties like that..

I believe this to be my favorite scene. The acting's just splendid. But then again the acting's amazing thorough the entire miniseries.

The way Mr. Knightley looks at Emma.. JLM convinces us of his character's love for Emma by nothing more but the blinking of his eyes. The most perfect Mr. Knightley ever! And Emma's laugh contains all the subconscious feelings she has for him.

I can't imagine they'll ever top this and I don't expect it either!

I just had to float in and watch with my fan rapidly waving across my person... This just makes my whole body tingle... I am in raptures once more and no doubt in deed of a Physician once more... I really must be sitting too close to the fire again, for it truly cannot be because Mr Knightly fluttered his eyelashes towards me... *sighs8

From 0.41 to the end of this clip... I have THE biggest grin plastered all about my face.. I now go off to work filled with happiness and wonderful visions in my head, the tune will sustain me till 10pm when I finish on check-outs... *phew long day awaits me thinks* :0)x

@trilingual28 ... All of it apart from the 'check-outs' part I will wager... EMMA just makes me really happy, the little looks, eyelid flickers, dimples, soft voice.. All of it just turns my inside to a mushy mess... 'But it is so lovely... the music sends me into raptures I must say'.. *I', getting all old fashioned in my language again*

Really a very beautiful scene- love Emma here with innocent giggles, her look- and Jonny lee Miller- is there anyone like you in my part of the world? Beautifully delivered, that love in your gaze- it did make this scene so much more romantic, and sweet. Will treasure this.

I absolutely LOVE this scene! Almost more romantic than the proposal! And what's so ironic is that though it's not obvious, Frank Churchill is actually dancing with Jane Fairfax (1:03-1:05)!

I said to my husband while watching the Mr Knightley / Emma dance that here she falls in love with Mr Knightley but doesn't even realize it. What a beautiful scene.

@jules no no no! why has he been going over to Hartfield since page one? maybe you are right about "realizes" but they have loved each other for a long time in fact in the book he says (I think) since she was 13 (that was OK then) but it is lovely isn't it!

this is the best adaptation of Emma. I love Johny lee Miller as Mr. Knightley. His face and eyes can express all feelings without saying anything.

@RachSaysHi .. Mansfield Park 1999 ... So we will let the most gorgeous Jonny Lee Miller off, he was after all slightly younger (10 years) as Edmund Bertrum he was a shy creature... And destined for the clergy too.. Mr George Knightley does make my heart swoon and beat a little faster in my chest.. Lovely indeed... *sighs happily and watches again* :0)x
