With 1.17 bar it was just faster than BMW E46 343hp ( tested from 40km/h to 210 km/h)
On track I only use 1.05bar to be sure to be safe and to keep my GTR engine and Gbx in good health ;-) I only went 2 times on track: 323GTR is more fun and efficient to drive on small mountain roads ;-) I don't wan to destroy it on track. I still drive it (in 2011 ! ) I really love this car. But to drive on track I dream about lotus elise or exige every night lol ;-) A fantastic choise to have fun on tracks.
That is a series 1 Elise with the slow Rover engine. No longer made.
The mazda 323 is very popular with the high school kids around here. Not sure I would want to run that car on a track.. you have guts to push that eco box that hard. ..
Your car seems standard, doesn't sound like there was much boost. Didnt hear much lag. wind up the boost to 1.1 or 1.2 bar. You'll be able to smash most cars.
i am the video amateur of this movie ;-) and i assure that the elise it is a 111R :-) We see the elise then... It was on the track of Ledenon in France. Byeeee

Hi,
lol !! I didn't know this video was on the net !
I am the 323GTR driver. This French track is Ledenon near Nîmes, early march 2005.
You'r probably right about lotus elise: a 111S ? Elise owners can see that better than I can ;-)
For this track session, my 323 GTR had road tires ( Eagle F1 DS-G3), the boost was near 1.05 bar, stock exhaust with catalyst.
This 323 GTR was just faster than sub WRX STI 265hp stock using only 1.00 bar
Using 1.05bar this day means ~25'5sec in 1000meter stop&go

Sorry mate that car CANNOT be an 'R' it must be an S or similar Mk1
OddballRS 4 years ago
It is NOT a 111R. This is a Series 1 Elise and judging by the additional spoiler it is a 111S. Only the S2 Elise has been made in a 111R variation.

111R is only S2 Elise.
This might be a 111S S1, but judging by the acceleration it isn't. And the driver isn't really driving very solid and quick too.

That is not a 111R, it seems like a standard series 1 Elise.
