  • How does giving it soft food help prevent gum disease and tooth decay? I give my ragdoll dry food (and water), including the t/d that the lady shows in the bag in the video. It's a special one which scales his teeth. Saves him the trauma of being taken to the vet, being anaesthetised and having his teeth cleaned. By the way, neutered male cats can develop the serious Feline Urological Syndrome (FUS) and I understand that some fish can trigger this off.

  • @togetvj Did you read that site that I told you about? Enough said. You have to do what you feel is right for your cat.

  • OMG cutest thing eveeerrrr xD

  • @kharbootah100 yes, it's cute, but he does it with no meaning sometimes or at least, i don't understand the meaning. can drive me nuts. i loaded a video yesterday of him meowing at a bird in the tree - that's pretty cute.

  • Looks just like my Satan :)...except she is about 7 now and she meows like a kitten

  • @VermillionDevil does she have a blaze too? you might want to feature her on floppycats as ragdoll of the week - details are in the description of this video.

  • @steiff1001 of course :)

  • dry food is much better for him than canned.

  • @NunyaDammeBiznis Oh, I wish that were the case - sure would make it easier to feed them! Unfortunately it is not. I included a link in the description of the video, so you can learn why it's not. It's about the furthest thing a cat would eat if it were to fend for itself and dry food companies spray an attractant on the food to keep the kitties interested. Very sad. I think the link will provide the education and knowledge needed. Hope your kitties are off of dry food soon!

  • So cute!! I want one!

  • @lucrecia4590 yes, he's pretty great.

  • My ragdoll cat is the same way. She only wants to eat dry food. I've tried so many types of wet food, but she wants none of it. lol

  • @SuperKDot Oh, he is transitioned now! No more dry food. I will include the link that explains how we transitioned in this description of this video. No dry food anymore for my kitties - I want their kidneys to have the best chances.

  • @steiff1001 Thank you so much for this helpful info. I will definitely have to transition my girl, Dot, to wet food. I feel bad for not doing more research. :S

  • @SuperKDot You're welcome. Hope you find it advantageous!

  • Cat: Feed me! I iz hungry

  • @DragonSwordMagician Human: Got to film you first so you can make the people on YouTube happy!

  • My cat is the same way

  • my cat is a mitted sealpoint too but minus the blaze :)

  • @peanutmmss is he a meowing maniac too? you know you can share your Ragdoll kitty on Floppycats as Ragdoll of the Week?! Check out the info section of this video and there are links to the guidelines.

  • @steiff1001 she is very vocal, especially when she wants to go downstairs to explore. she gets very bored! i'll check out the floppycats, thanks!

  • @peanutmmss i call her (mischa) the wall scruncher, cus she does that scrunching against the side of a wall thing aaaaaaalll the time lol it's so cute

  • @peanutmmss my trigg does that - yes i love it and have to tell him how pretty he is.

  • @peanutmmss I do product reviews on the site and she might be interested in some of the interactive toys we have tested. Email me through floppycats and I can send you some suggestions.

  • @steiff1001 i have to tell you, misch hasn't shown an interest in toys much since she was 1 or less...she mostly wants to go outside badly and explore the areas outside my mom's smallish apartment. i feel so badly but she really can't go outside...it's VERY hard to get her to play. she will run with the other cats or by play games by herself!

  • @peanutmmss ok - this is more a puzzle if she is food motivated.

  • beautiful cat! I have a ragdoll myself, they are they are the best. too funny

  • @heathmo24 Thanks! I hope you'll share your Ragdoll cat as Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats!

  • Pleas help me understand this. When you say he has some Siamese in him, what do you mean? I thought a ragdoll is a cross between a Siamese and a Persian. I don't like Siamese cats. I have had bad experiences with them. But if a ragdoll may not have Siamese, it would work better for me. Please help me clear this confusion. Is it possible for a ragdoll to not have Siamese in them. Thank you!

  • @Desi4evah No, he has no Siamese in him. Siamese cats are known to meow a lot, so I said jokingly that Charlie is half Siamese. Ragdolls do not have Siamese in them.

  • @steiff1001 oh, phew! Thank God. I don't like Siamese cats. They just attack you and get all moody. I hate them. I LOOOOVE ragdolls. They are so calm and compassionate. :)

  • @Desi4evah I doubt all Siamese are like that. I have never known one.

  • @steiff1001 Oh trust me, my roommate's cat made me break the lease. It exhausts me to repeat the story again and again.

  • @Desi4evah all cats can be cats from hell. it has to do with their environment and also what they have been allowed to do. Do you watch the show "My Cat From Hell"? It's a good to know what brings on that sort of behavior.

  • @steiff1001 Thanks for answering my question. And your cats are so beautiful. They paws and hind legs are so adorable. And that fur coat and distinct colors. BEAUTY!!!

  • @Desi4evah thanks. they are very cool. i adore them.

  • when my persian wants treats he does this, and leads everyone to the cupboard where they are

  • Charlie looks so much like my ragdoll, Becker.

  • @TenPoundHammer I wanna see Becker! You might consider featuring him as Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats!

  • @steiff1001 I have some photos, but I don't have a video camera.

  • @TenPoundHammer oh, if you're willing to share, I would love to see them. you can email me at info -at- floppycats - com - I cannot write the regular email address here as youtube won't allow it, but hopefully you can figure it out from there. If not, there is a link in the description of this video where you can click through to my website and use the contact form there. Looking forward to "meeting" Becker!

  • Its better to have them on dry food... Why force him to switch?

  • @Alesija1 actually, you are mistaken. i will include a link in the description of the video so you can check it out.

  • rag dolls have Siamese ancestry

  • my rag doll Cleo does the same thing! She'll do anything for a bowl of dry food! and she meows a lot too!

  • Charlie is da bomb.

  • @treadman26 thanks, i tend to agree.

  • Cuuuute, it looks like a bit of cream has dripped into his face :3

  • What a beautiful cat

  • my cat sits in the middle of the kitchen or attack me

  • I want your cat.............he is so adorable

  • @diyajones haha that's awesome. i don't blame you. he's awesome and then some. i find him irresistible.

  • mix the dry food with the wet?

  • @freedomfun1 Thanks for trying to help - this was filmmed over 1 year ago. He's completely on wet now - no issues.

  • He is so beautiful!!

  • @BabsyAndMe thanks, he is a handsome devil - and knows it!

  • The white stripe down his nose is so charming!

  • @xorochimarusloverx thanks! that's called a "blaze". his is an hourglass shape, so it's called an hourglass blaze. i have a page on my website dedicated to Ragdoll cats with blazes - all cats that carry the white spotting gene can have a blaze. if you google, "Ragdolls with blazes" you'll find the page with tons of pictures of Ragdoll cats!

  • Beautiful cat he is so damn cute!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omg ur cat is sooooo cute :)

  • Girl: Charlie is a dry food addict. He wants dry food and meows when he wants it

Charlie: Meow!!!! X5 ( YESS!! I WANT DRY FOOD!!)

Girl: What do you want Charlie?? Do you want dry food?

Charlie: Meow (no I want that nasty ass wet food thats been sitting in my bowl all day)

  • Have you considered letting him free-feed? I got him the PetSafe station bowl, and it works great. Of course, my Ragdoll's not a pig, so I have no problem letting him moderate his own food intake. ;) There are also automatic feeders that dispense a preset amount at preset times.

  • @shannonkleiner Thanks for your suggestions. Charlie and Trigg do not get dry food. I am a big opponent to feeding cats dry food.

  • @steiff1001 dry food is sufficient. they do not need wet food at all...

  • @Shireen1986 unfortunately that's not the case. i would suggest reading catinfo.org - that's the best I can do - we will not succeed in having such a debate through the comment section of youtube.

  • he is adorable!

  • Yoou cat is SO much like mine, but I'm not sure if he's a ragdoll. Is he an "alpha cat?"

  • @dseeger2 at first i thought he was alpha, but i have since discovered that he is more just an independent soul that is on his own path and is NOT interested in being interrupted by others!!

  • cutie

  • My Ragdoll, Sammy, is very vocal too. He'll just start meowing non-stop for no reason. It drives my dad nuts. lol

  • @AzuraNagomii that made me laugh really hard about it driving your dad nuts! I'd love it if you would share Sammy as Ragdoll of the week on Floppycats! You can find the guidelines through the website (can't post a link here - but there's one in the description of the video to the website).

  • @AzuraNagomii My ragdoll is Sampson

  • My ragdoll does the exact same. He eats way too much and when he wants more food he won't stop meowing until he gets it!. haha

  • my Ragdoll/ Himalayan, Fluffy, cat squeaks for food too. It's really funny

  • Looks like my Ragdoll! It's cool how only the mitted kitties get the white blaze on their nose.

  • @jase7725 Yes, it's called the white spotting gene - and when a cat carries it sometimes their kittens can have blazes! I love blazes.

  • you have nice feet

  • beautiful markings on his face.

  • @potatochipXL Thanks - that's called a blaze...his is an hourglass shape, so called an hourglass blaze.

  • Sounds exactly like our ragdoll girly^^ She's a bluepoint

  • @luxfalsa oh! i wish you'd share her on floppycats as ragdoll of the week!

  • I have a seal mitted Ragdoll. He and his sister, a tortie, are my babies! They will lap up the gravy in wet food and that's about it. Charlie is gorgeous!

  • @missnino0220 yes, i have heard of that before- the gravy thing! Thanks for the compliments on Charlie! Woudl love it if you would submit your kitties as Ragdoll of the Week on my site, floppycats!

  • Aww... I used to have a cat that wouldn't touch his wet food either... he only wanted dry food. Even if I tried mixing the dry food with wet food he would only pick out the kibble and eat as little as possible of the wet food... Later I had a cat that was the complete opposite!

  • What kind of dry food do you feed your cats?

  • @sophieclair1 I don't feed them any dry any more and wish I would have never fed them dry! So glad they are off of it now! I feed them canned wet food - only premium brands and we will be switching to raw eventually.

  • @steiff1001

What are you feeding them now? Why'd you stop feeding dry food?

  • @sophieclair1 they are eating premium (no grains and human grade food) canned food. dry food isn't the ideal diet for cats because it is the furthest thing from what they would get in the wild. cats are omnivores and need muscle and organ meat in their pure form - dry food is the furthest from that. canned food is closer, but still not ideal, that's why raw is next. i can send you a link to a great website if you e-mail me through my website. i am not allowed to post website links on youtub

  • @steiff1001 But he likes dry food. I know that you are a good mom but I feel bad for gorgeous Charlie. Dry food keeps cat's/dogs teeth cleaner. Btw mice bones are closer to dry food than canned. My Ragdoll eats organic cat food (dry) and he loves can food from time to time. And Feline Greenies (2-3 pieces a day). Does Charlie have any problems with teeth?

  • stfu cat...

  • He's a cutie and a beauty!

  • There is something about a hungry Ragdoll.... They do all their little cute tricks to get food. They ack like they have not eaten in weeks..... not hours. My River will tell me when it is 3:00 to the second. Then at 3:05 he acts like he can go no further with out food.

  • I love the name you gave it! And wow, that spot on his face is so adorable. I really need to get one of these cats someday, if my dog doesn't mind lol

  • @Frisby2007 the name I gave it? Does "it" refer to my cat? I'm confused. The spot on his face is called a blaze. Because of the shape of it, more specifically it is called an hourglass blaze. Your dog will be fine with them, if you are fine with them. My cats growing up always lived with German Shepherds.

  • @steiff1001 Yes, I mean your cat, sorry about that. That blaze shape is nice, Hopefully the cat i get will have one (of this same species that is)

  • Lol I have a 100% Persian and she does the same thing

  • Koko is ok, with his, as he knows it's the ONLY way he gets to go out. He's even fine with leash on our walks. I will add that he was chosen by our breeder to be a therapy cat and she began working with him right off. So by the time I got him, the hard parts where done ~:)

  • Raggy's are the best! Koko does the grab your leg with big fluffy paws, too. Have you leash trained any of your's? Fun channel.

  • @KokoroPurrsVideo they are the best, aren't they? i love the grab the leg thing! no, i haven't leash trained them. i put harnesses on them to have them with me in the front yard, but they aren't fans of the harnesses.

  • I breed Ragdolls, hes gorgeous, if your ever loking for a kitten , find me on facebook at socal ragdolls

  • i've got a ragdoll too. since years she's talkin talkin talkin^^

sometimes when she wants too eat, shes movin backwards wriggling her tail^^ does ur cat do so too?

  • @DjOxymoron that's adorable - no, my ragdolls don't do that. one of them will grab your leg with both paws because he's so hungry and so excited.

  • i want a cat SO bad!

  • Such a wonderfully inquisitive face! And the white mark down the center is really charming. Thanks for sharing!

  • @Sethrezin That's his blaze - I love the blaze too - that's how I found him, I was looking for his coloring, but I got a whole lot of personality too!

  • @Sethrezin I got this message in my inbox, "Ragdolls are the largest cats around? I haven't seen much for scale, but how big is Charlie? I have seen some ragdolls reach almost monstrous size. Larger than some small dogs." - but cannot find it here on YouTube - I think Ragdolls are a large breed, but Maine Coons are known to be the largest of the domestic cats, I believe.

  • He is so cute. I want to have a ragdoll cat now. :( Is it a half breed of siamese and persian cat? thanks.

  • @yourrandomestgirl No, Ragdolls are believed to be descendants of Birmans and Burmese - not Siamese at all or Persian. He is a cool cat, so thanks for the compliments. You can learn more about Ragdolls on my website.

  • same thing with cat that lives in this house .. i just mix the dry food with wet food and cat eats it all ... problem solved.

  • Dallas does the same thing. Maybe its the blaze?

  • @FergusonTO35 i think we've talked about it before - the ones with the blazes seem to be more outgoing for some reason. Although the other blazes I know aren't as talkative as Mr. Charlie Man.

  • @steiff1001 Ragdolls are the largest cats around? I haven't seen much for scale, but how big is Charlie? I have seen some ragdolls reach almost monstrous size. Larger than some small dogs.

  • My Raggie is also very talkative - especially when it comes to food. I often tease that he channels his inner Siamese quite well! :)

  • Awww, precious!!

  • AWWWWWWW
