  • the only thing he broke was the sound barrier. ;)

  • pyun, did something happen to this car? i have seen tons of parts for sale on teh forums?

  • @Mikesvr4 - Just moved on to another platform. I still think about her a lot lol... it's like I'm talking about an Ex-girlfriend lol

  • how did this get set up i need to put it on my stealth!

  • @c00345 - I custom made this setup. However, I have moved into another platform and my custom made manifolds are now for sale on ebay. Or you can contact me through brianpyun@gmail.com to discuss purchase.

  • can he even spool that?

  • @kittymeowbarkify

    A guy ran 10.3 with a gt42 on his 3000gt at 30psi+ of boost at 138mph I think that spools pretty fast and a 1.5 60ft.

  • @kittymeowbarkify - I see 5psi at 3500rpm and full boost by 4200rpms... yah I can spool it.

  • gives me the chills. very nice, yo

  • @3KVT - Thanks!

  • dude where`s you`re airfilter? you are gonna mess up the whole engine . that would really suck. It`s a nice engine!!

  • @michaeltheone1000 - I took it off for the video. Would you rather watch the turbo spin at idle or watch an air filter at idle?

  • @bpyun quick response!! Lol Ok i was just checking would be a shame if that nice turbo blew up right?

  • DAMN!!!! Great job on this one...

  • @MegaMarshal -Thanks!

  • wow so sick man

  • @Wpsuspension - thanks bro

  • "Hey stick your finger in there and see what happens"

  • @Mitsubishi3kgt hahaha made my day

  • @Mitsubishi3kgt come on dude, he would break the turbo, everybody knows that. lol just kidding

  • you make that turbo kit or did you buy it?

  • @krazyraver69 - I made this turbo kit from scratch. It is for sale right now.

  • @bpyun

how much and will it fit a 95 base model?

  • @krazyraver69 - $3500 for the manifolds and X-over pipe only.

  • @bpyun thats a pretty heffty price tag

  • @krazyraver69 - then you have no idea what you're getting yourself into when you try modifying a 3000gt. Take a look at IPS motorsports single turbo kit ...$8250.00

  • @bpyun well ik it takes a custon manifold for a single turbo but will the ebay single turbo kits not work?

  • @krazyraver69 - everything that deals with my turbo kit is custom. even the driver's side intake manifold to keep down IATs. If you buy a kit from ebay, be ready for some headaches

  • @bpyun well sounds like vr4 swap is much easier to do i guess

  • @krazyraver69 - I wouldn't say easier, but MUCH safer. do some research on 3si.org

  • @bpyun ive been doing alot on there idk i cant decide really but ill prob just go with the swap or maybe just sell it and buy a vr4 lol

  • no joke ..how many mpg and hp..im thinking of doing this swap to my mirage..dnt know if i should just do a conversion (dohc) depends on hp/mpg ratio ..dont want to stop every other day to get gas.. =P thanks

  • No filter?

  • man thats such i tiny turbo!!! you could of got one off of an earth mover, thats would have been better!! lol

Sweet looking engine mate!! good luck :)

  • mmmm northcarolina :)

  • @HKSSupraify - LOL. I just picked up a RB26DETT R33 tonight. Fully built with a 2.7L Nismo motor and twin HKS GT2835s.....plus allll the goodies!!!

  • @bpyun Hate? lol

  • Hey quick question! does your stock hood close over the turbo? or did you have to make hood cuts or get a cowl?

  • @FelipeFromColombia no hood cutting was needed. That's why I pain-stakingly made this kit to fit the stock hood :)

  • well thats alil outa my spending.. if ur serious about chopin it up how much for the motor or ur single t set up. i got a stock 95vr4 with a spun rod bearing im lookin for the best kinda fix cuz ima get a new motor probably but ima single it up when its fixed and that aint cheap

  • @Thug0000069 I'm going to sell the shortblock for $3500. It has JE Pistons, Crower Rods, Refreshed 2nd gen Forged Crank and built with a 9:1 CR. Also has ARP hardware. Built up by Ray Pampena from NY. Selling my heads for $2000. They have Ferrea SS Intake Valves, INCONEL Exhaust Valves, WebCam Racing Dual valve springs, 3rd gen Bronze Valve Guides, Ported/Polished and exhaust chambers knife-edged.

  • @Thug0000069 let me know if you want to know about anything else. Cams, cam gears, the single turbo kit, etc

  • how many hp ?? i love my car

  • @3000gtrojo sadly, after I forged and rebuilt the shortblock and heads, cut new camshafts, new adjsutable cam gears and turbo mods, I never got it dyno tuned and I've decided to part it out when I get a chance. I'm overseas right now for school so it's just sitting in a storage facility right now until I can chop her up. It's sad and I really don't want to do it, but I need the money now. Grad school loans are a bitch!

  • daaaaaaaaaaammn thats harsh.... but yoooo .. u said u had it stock tt? how much u putting out with the single and since its not vr4 i kno its laggin like crazy..

  • sn3RT3CH - yes, originally I converted , my SL to a VR4 TT motor. But gradually upgraded turbos and then decided to go for a 1 of 1 with the turbo system you see now. Actually the fact that its a VR4 or SL does not affect lag, and since I'm FWD I have less drivetrain loss (no power lost to transfer to the rear like in AWD cars). But I see 5psi by 3500rpms with a stock 8:1CR VR4 motor. I built my new shortblock with a9:1CR so spool up should be even quicker and more responsive for the street

  • impressive . thats tru tho less power loss wit the fwd. but lol i got a 92 prelude si looking to get a 93-94 vr4 dont get me wrong in most cases i heard convertig the tt to single still has some form of lag but what is the largest size turbs can u use with out doing a whole bunch of fabricatin in a set up thats like half street half track still having crazy top end power like a single big turbo whuld like in ur gt now?

  • @SNIP3RT3CH depends on your budget and if you want to customize anything or not

  • so can the stock tt engine manage bigger turbos or about 25lbs boost with out building it?

  • @SNIP3RT3CH - you can get about 500awhp on a stock motor

  • r u serious daaaaaaaammnn... thats equivalent to how much modifications plus boost?

  • @SNIP3RT3CH - Twin 19T turbos, stage 3 heads, street cams, MAF-T Pro and S-AFC setup, pre-cat eliminators, ported stock manifolds, 3.5" DP, 3.5" exhaust, FMIC, Dejon tool Intake pipes, Denso 660cc injectors, Hotwired Denso Supra pump, HKS BOV...should net you about 500awhp on pump gas @18-19psi

  • good info bro.. lol def gettin one of these

  • @bpyun hold up dont chop this up how much you want for it? and what state is it in?

  • @Thug0000069 - probably around $27-30k. The car is fully modified and the only thing that would be beneficial for the car would be to switch out my Speed Density E-manage Ultimate for a full standalone AEM. Name any other part of the vehicle and I can tell you what mods I've done to that part of the car.

  • @Thug0000069 - Right now it's located in NC

  • @corleone171284 - Its worth it if you want to work on your own car, want to know the ins and outs of your entire engine/turbo system so diagnosis is a bit easier...and pretty much if you want your own unique car. Buy a new car that's fast from the factory is the easy way out haha... it's all about what your hobbies and passions are... are you a car lover or a car DIYer

  • jesus gawd

  • sick gt ... lol basically the same engine as a tt but fwd with a single turbo. nice thats pushing like what about 290 hp?

  • what are you smoking?? I had more than that when I had a stock TT motor in there.

  • did ips do this kit?

  • No sir, I made this entire setup with my friend who is a triple engineer major (EE, AE, ME) who used to own a shop and do his own fabrications on 3000gts and stealths

  • brian, it's pure sex to my ears...

  • thanks man!

  • great job, How many horses you got now?????

  • With my direct methanol injection system (nozzle going to each runner on the intake), I should be around 700fwhp on 93+meth

  • nice cars how much do u spend ??? on that turbo ??

  • on the turbo alone....

    $1100 for new GT42

$150 for Ceramic Coating on the turbine housing

    $400 for the WOTM insert

$200 for the chrome and shaving

  • so... did u convert the stock twin turbo to a single big-ass one?

  • Nope, I took it even one step further...I went from a Non-turbo FWD 3000GTSL to what I have now :)

  • ohhhh, ok, my bad, thought it was a vr-4, nicely done btw

  • @jgkov49 thanks man

  • bravo

  • @corleone171284 thanks!

  • wuz that inline6

  • it's a v6.

  • @RandC48 i see that it has 6 cylinder but it doesnt form a "v" looks more like a stright 6

  • What you are mistaking for an inline-6 is actually my intake plenum which has 6 runners... the engine is mounted tranversely and it has 2 manifolds...front and back... each ridding the exhaust from 3 cylinders each

  • oh ok thanks learn something new everyday

  • Thanks for all the nice comments!

  • *liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicks * mmmm

  • nice engine and big turbo :D

  • it prob. spools decently fast it is a six cylinder, my buddy got a gt42r integra 4 cylinder and it spools up nice

  • damnn i wounder how much lag that thing has lol

  • monster

  • 99 is the best year...EVER! So hella sexy looking.

  • omg dude i bet that was a fukin bitch cause theres no room to work in those cars just like the 300zx had to pull the motor on one for a turbo upgrade guy originally wanted gt30 turbos but there was not enough clearance so he just went wit gt28s and barely had enoguh room...

  • were did you get the single turbo manifold!!!

  • it needs to be fab'd

  • does anyone know the measurements?

  • 36-34-32 Cute face, nice waist, body like a coke bottle?

  • what r the best engines u could put in those

  • the twin turbo engine it comes with

  • oh ok thanks

  • I wanna hear the woooosh as it goes down the road! make a vid of it driving! nice job on the car btw!

  • pure sex. Makes my 9b's look flacid. Got my wrx turbos waiting to be converted to 19t's, but still nothing compared to opening your hood up and seeing a big single staring at you.

  • damn thats a huge turbo lol

  • dude that is one nasty setup i wish mine was like that lol

  • Sick!

  • is this a vr-4????

  • It's a custom setup. I would sell my entire kit which includes, FMIC, custom Intake manifold and entire exhaust system for $10k...includes the GT42-71 turbo which has been fully modified by WOTM.

  • If you're really interested, I will send you pics of the finished look of the engine bay. It's really something...everything has been polished, chromed and thermal coated. I will also throw in my BADASS fuel setup for $1k.

  • yo what single kit is that and what was the pricing on it?? i am trying to get one myself but can only find the kit at ips for 6500 and thats w/o FMIC KIT

  • DOES THAT THING FLY?

  • nice set up, very big turbo. kinda looks like a piece of tape on the compressor wheel

  • I can't find a VR-4 anywhere.

  • i have the '97 base 3000GT. V6 SOHC 12V, 161hp. What it has in looks, it lacks in power. i've gotten it up to 125mph. i was wondering if i could install a turbo in it, but i don't know much about that kinda stuff. i wish i could get a VR4 though.

  • its like most of all, you pay for what you get...

  • well if i were you i would do an engine swap to a VR4 cause thats your best bet

  • i have a question!! is it possible to swapt the twin turbos of the vr-4 into and sl?

  • yea lol

  • umm... should i try? hehehe!

  • You need a lot more than just the turbos. You also need all of the wiring and piping that goes with it. You need an intercooler and it MAY not be compatable with your tranny.

  • then i should just buy the vr-4 engine equipped with all of that already think that will b cheaper and easier right?

  • You should really just buy a VR4 in whole. You will save a lot of money and you get more stuff. A VR4 engine may run you about $2000 all together unless you can install yourself.

My opinion is just to sell your car and put a little more money toward a VR4 so you can also have AWS, AWD, Active Aero and natural speed that you won't get with a swap.

And trust me, Twin Turbos on FWD isnt much fun.

  • yeah ur right u got a good point there its cus im so in love with my sl that its hard 4 me to change him 4 a vr-4. my sl is my first car.

and if now i cant race from a dead stop cus i dont get grip at all

    i cant imagine with TT's!!

    lol

  • Yeah, I know it's hard to get rid of your first car. But its time for an upgrade. Consider yourself lucky that you started with an SL. My first car was a 91 Dodge Stealth Base and gotta a upgrade to a 94 SL.

  • TT's are AWD if they got anything besides power it is grip and handling=VR4, on a full launch VR4's even when highly boosted barely spin wheels.

  • LOL! yea my cute sl lol! i love him! 1 week ago i beated a 2004 bmw 3251 and a week b4 thati beated a benz 250 i think it is! i love my black stalion!

  • lol , now that i read what u said before i know ur talkin about ur sl, well hope u find a descent VR4 soon.

  • my bad I MEAN BMW 325I NOT 1

  • A new VR4 shortblock will cost you close to 4000 after shipping.... Buy a beat to hell with the best body condition you can find and then have 3SXperformance rebuild the engine, reinforce the transfer case, and drop in td05 16g turbos with all the mods you need to make 'em work. Thats what I did and now i have a beautiful VR4 with nearly 600awhp that i spent less than 25K on TOTAL (including the car's inital purchase). Thats the price of a new Civic Si.

  • you got robbed, including vehicle purchase price I got a 95 stealth, dropped in a VR4 block and custom twin turbo setup and a full interior and sounds as well and it cost me $5,876 and I'm pushing over 800 awhp. again you got robbed.

  • u got 800bhp for 6k my ass bro, what u think people passin through here own civics? most are 3s owners and we know our costs for safe boosting!!!!

  • LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FYE UH!!!!!!!!!!

  • please tell me where you found all this for 5876.. cause i would love to know and 6 grand for 800 hp lol with all do respect but bullshit!! never will happen!! first off if its the TT version your more like 7grand for the car alone the Turbo kit no less then 3 grand and thats if your lucky not including FMIC.. interior gages alone if their good cost 60 plus!! 800HP bullshit!!

  • um.... try working for a turbo manufacture and getting it cause it "fell off the back of the truck" and getting the car from some 18 year noob who didn't know what they really had and how much it was worth.

  • you were correct 6 months ago about the transmission part....they're junk

  • naw getrag trannys are ok to a certain point stock tranny can handle 650 hp no prob i think its way better then any jetta ;)

  • lol ive been lookin for this video i made a comment about 6 months ago sayin some bull shit about havin weak trannies and the fuel injectors. dat was the stupid shit i was hearin from all the people dat where tryin ta convince me not to buy my 91 vr4. my bad sorry. now my 91 got a gto engine with TD05 upgrades runnin around 550awhp.

  • DAMN PPL GET HOSTILE OVER THE LAST YEAR OF THE GREATEST CAR EVER.... lol

well nice car bro.... but te hood yea ehhh... like th style but too big get it?

anyway it dont look stock for shit idk what he was smokin. lol nice stealth

  • is that a leakn gasket ??

  • lol my bad wrong vid and how the hell did i get on this vid when i was deffenetly on the otther 1 when i started typing

  • ya umm a hyundia couldent beat anything let alone a 3000GT running 36 PSI lol and other than that running 36 psi will fuck your shit up man be carfull u better keep a fire extinguisher in your car

  • Any Problems with the turobo yet? Maybe it's just me but it sounded like the bearing was rattling.

  • For the final model year 3000GT in 1999, the car received a partial exterior makeover including new front bumper, headlamps, turn signals, sail panels, rear garnish and specific for the 1999 VR4, a large wing to distinguish it from the rest of the previous 3/S and current 1999 non-vr4 models. Production for the Japanese domestic market finally ceased in 2000, with the last two cars sold the following year (2001).

  • 350znismo you're an idiot

there is no "2000 3000gt" they stopped making it in '99

but it's the stock '99 bumper if you must know.

But i heard single turbo'd gt's don't perform as well as twin'd. How's it run?

  • well dont ejagerate dawg theres no need 2 call me an idiot im a nissan freak not a mitsubishi plus i got the wrong info...

the car is beutiful but the only way i could race sum1 is by starting rollin, in other words on second gear cus i get too much torque and no traction but i love it!

on the freeway ill take mostly of the ppl

plus the TT's u got the AWD that helps alot than the regular FWD

i basicaly wasted my front tireds

but on the mechanic part fixing it is cheaper that the TT

  • Thing must rip

  • whats the name of the front bumper?

because im trying to find one for my car

  • you have a 3000GT or stealth right?

  • 95 3000gt

    XP

do u noe were i could get that bumper?

  • i think its called stock bumper , meaning from factory.

  • well i only seen that bumper on the 2000 version

  • hahaha 2000?they stopped making them in 1999.lol. thats a 99.

  • my bad 4 the bad info the website that i read said that the last 1 was made on 2000

i gues they r wrong and made me look bad lol

either way i found a junk yard of only mitsubidhis and i found the whole front imma conver mine into the 99 all i need now is the VR-4 spoiler

  • they actually made the GTO till 2001 but they stoped producing the 3000gt in america in 99

  • no, in Japan the model year is the year the car is sold.

  • u mean shippin to the US , u r right , the lastest 3000gt's ull find are 99's but the lastes GTO's are 2001 last and all made in japan( even dodge stealths) Nagoya ,japan, mitsu factory

  • oh my, thats a well-built 3S you got there. I've been debating whether or not to switch to a single turbo set-up. Personally, I prefer the twin turbo. Even though the turbos I have are smaller than yours (TD05 16Gs) I have virtually no turbo lag so I think that makes up for the decreased peak airflow. But anyway, great car man, I love the 1999 styling and I can't wait til I can afford it for my 3S. College is expensive!!

  • i bet you any money that thing goes like crazy lol

  • thats all well and good but your not thinking about the rest of the car when you puttin on a turbo dat fuckin big. first off for a 96 to 99 the fuel injection system can only go up to about 350hp. second on most 3000gts the tranny is the weakest link. they can handle up to 375-400hp until they need to be upgraded.

  • lol you obviously are talking out your ass and have never owned a 3s....

  • pretty sure the guys at 3SX are running a stock six speed in their 902awhp 3000gt turning 9.339 @ 159.23 in a 1/4 mile and replacing tranny parts less frequently than some guys I know who run "stronger" transmissions at lower horsepower(not in 3000gt's).

  • i was thinking my 1996 Dodge Stealth RT Twin Turbo is made by Diamond Star Motors(DSM). why is it GTO's are made by Japanese Domestic Market. When Stealth's, 3000GT's, and GTO's are basically the same car. What im sayin is they should all be made by the same company

  • they r all made in the same plant in japan, not sure which one, but take a minute and look it up and thats where every single 3kgt, gto and stealth came from

  • pretty sure stealth/gto/3000gt arn't dsm's i thought eclipse/plymouth laser/eagle talon

  • Eclipse (until 1999)/Laser/Talon are all DSM's made in Normal, Illinois. The 3000GT/GTO/Stealth are all made in Nagoya, Japan and are all JDM.

  • By "all JDM" I'm assuming you don't mean all were RHD because there were 3000GTs and Stealths sold in north america and those are LHD, but built in Japan as far as I know.

  • You assume correctly my friend. I meant JDM as in they are all imports from the Japanese Domestic Market, not that all of them are built to JDM specifications. I personaly own a '94 3000GT SL and it definately isn't RHD.

  • DSM was a joint venture between Chrysler Corporation, and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation the name Diamond Star is a nod to the parent companies logos Mitsubishi's triple Diamond and Chrysler's Star . to produce the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon models, all made in America. the Dodge Stealth, Mitsubishi 3000GT and GTO models were all built at Mitsubishi's Nagoya Plant in Okazaki Japan.

  • god damn...nice....mind telling how to make it single set up instead of twin...cuz i was planning to buy one but must know how to make it single turbo instead of buying 2 3sx 15g or watever they are

  • you make the car a single turbo by getting new headers, a new intercooler and piping, and a new downpipe. All of which obviously need to just support 1 big turbo instead of 2 smaller ones. Personally though I would go with 2 TD05 16g-20g turbos to decrease spool-up time. I have 2 16Gs that are lightly tuned and my VR4 puts down around 550awhp depending on the day. I'm thinking about going to 2 20g's so I can put down 750awhp, but believe me, 550awhp is extremely fast for a daily driver.

  • enough to pick up the kids from school lmao

    canada..."30km zone"

  • dammnnn gt42 garret gt sport turbo that thing runs up too like 850 hp + the stock engine thats like 900 hp , that things a beast

  • Nice work man, but get a filter on that thing before it eats some of our feathered friends :)

  • what you call a 3000GT in the us, is called a GTO in new zealand, same car bro...

  • "The Mitsubishi GTO is a sports grand tourer built by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors between 1990 and 2001, although in most export markets it was rebadged as a Mitsubishi 3000GT."

    They are the same car.

  • umm the GTO is the JDM (Japanese domestic market) Name for the 3000gt...google it man...I am in NZ and in NZ we keep the JDM names...not the USDM names

  • Big turbo, big piping, big airflow, big POWER!

  • and BIG turbo lag =(... I'll stick with twins.

  • Did you fabracate the pipes yourself? Welds look nice.

  • so i assume its just a single turbo now ? if so why not keep the dual turbo setup ? have the GT42 for higher rpm and get something smaller for quick spool? just a question of preference i guess, nice car and nice work btw
