@DannysCam you have the cart holder in wrong, if you have to loosen the screws to get the holder to lock and unlock its not on right, you need to push it down and slid the holder on to the motherboard while still pushing the holder down as you move it forward, because if you do that the screws should go in all the way like they should.
can someone help me fix my NES? i plugged it in and it just flashes the red light and nothing comes up on the screen. i tried to clean the 72 pin connecter and nothing changed
@DannysCam i checked the mother board everything looked normal, i tried 2 other games, one time the screen flashed a pinkish color and another time if flashed a grey color..
@jeffr383 ok man if your getting color it has to be the 72 pin connector the CRC chip i disconected i think in this video. did you try pulling the pins a bit higher so they make a better connection?
@DannysCam that would be pretty nice.. i couldnt really see what you were talking about when you were pulling the pins a bit higher for a better connection
Weird thing: My NES' screws are suddenly very hard to screw in and part of the front of the bottom casing has warped inwards (under the game cartridge lid) further and further.
It's got the point where I can't screw in 2 of the screws for the metal plate and I also have to put the top casing on without screwing, with a bit of it sticking out (due to the bottom's inward warping).
Anyone else encountered this strange-to-infuriating phenomenon?
cheer smate got my nes working iam real u just need toothbrush and alcohol brush on the 72 pins and thats it its clean and working fine now mno flashing light no grey screen cheers mate for that all my love to fellow old skool gamer
i have a question, does this nintendo have a slick top and whats the serial number on it ? just want to know man because i"m looking into getting another one and wanted to know if the system matches the box it came in for future reference...............thanks man, good find by the way can"t believe someone threw that out
Hey man, good video. I just bought a replacement connector off ebay with the partial refund I got from the guy who sold me my "working" NES. It's a good thing modern consoles dont have such stupid design errors that give you blinking red lights......oh wait...
What happened in Nevada? The NES2 (a.k.a the toploader) was made by Nintendo in October, 1993. It looks weird but the controlers look like SNES', Go on google and take a look. It's hard to belive they made it illegal.
yep after clinton banned all automatic weaponds he thought toploarder was a type of gun. police wer forice to arrest people who had a toploader and charge them with a class 3 fellonie
I've seen people who have them. People show them here on youtube all the time, why haven't they goten arrested? The NES 2 was mechanically better than the 1st.
nice, I might try this some day on a rainy day. but I think I'll just buy a 72-pin connector. might not get that sliding thing on the tv. plus it would save alot of work with those pins.
thank you man. theres nothing like the feeling of playing zelda. it takes me back to the early 1990s lol. we use to have the best saturday morning cartoon line up. the kids now days have nothing good to watch
i have not tryed that but a other thing i did was cut the cic chips power so it starts up faster and does not blink i will be doing a other video on that i love nes

Great video, Daniel! :)
IMMORTALONE19 2 years ago
I hear using alcohol is not the best thing to use to clean it as it apparently causes more corrosion over time.
Thats just what ive heard though.
