I have seen many specialists in the UK since I developed what has now (after 16 years) been diagnosed as Thoracic outlet syndrome as a result of my profession as a Violinist. I was shocked at some of the responses....disbelief...all in the mind, stress related etc etc and sent off to a pshycologist! Now... I am having an operation. It is extremely difficult to get any support and I only wish there was more education, awareness and recognition for musicians injuries.

It's a shame the medical profession in the UK don't have an understanding of musicians injuries.
