  • Edward James Olmos is so awesome in everything he does.

  • @ChriosM

    Well, ALMOST everything.

...Have you seen Dexter lately? New season sucked, and EJO was pretty bad in it (Thanks to the script mostly).

  • Nice quality.

  • star wars- epic movie, groundbreaking, great storyline, you wanted to find out more about the characters later, and a Kurosawa ripoff (Hidden Fortress)

blade runner- epic characters, you learned their past/present./and their hopes in 1 movie.....great StoryTelling......best single movie (sci-fi or other) ever (that isn't Kurosawa)

  • Blade Runner, FFS. The only film which prompts me to shout at my mother about how she just doesn't appreciate how much more there is to this film than a typical sci-fi jaunt. Yeah, it's futuristic, it's part of a genre whose fans are typically die-hard, but I'm not a sci-fi fan, really. I'm not into Star Wars or any of that stuff. Blade Runner, however, is a genre all of it's own, and it's called 'A FUCKING MASTERPIECE'. Blade Runner made me realise there's more to some movies than the main plot

  • @warriorofwrestlingv3 You don't need to be a sci-fi fan to love Star Wars. I think it falls along the same lines.

But I see your point, too. Blade Runner is a fucking masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful in its craft.

  • @warriorofwrestlingv3

My friends and family don't like this movie either and I never get tired of it.

  • I hope you got an '+A' on the fucker.

  • I watched the 1992 Director's cut version of the film and I don't seewhat's so amazing about it. It's hard to understand and nowhere as good as the book.

  • @Voesyy

it's obvious you haven't checked out any of the other comments on other blade runner vids or simply neglected them out of your own arrogance. anyone with only shred of understanding of movies recognises blade runner is simply one of the most breath-taking and thought provoking films of all-time. not the mention the fact that is was way ahead of it's time. back in 82 there were many layman just like you who didn't like it cos they simply weren't capable of embracing such a masterpiece.

  • @dsdan83 OBVIOUSLY you have NO respect for ANYONE else's opinions and will simply have someone because they don't totally agree with you. I wasn't saying that I hate the film; I was just saying that I found it hard to understand and that I enjoyed the book SO much more.

PS. Just because other people love the film doesn't mean that I also have to be obsessed with it.

  • @Voesyy

It is need almost impossible to take nitwits such as yourself seriously. Especially when you discredit yourself further for obviously being a fan of ridiculous, teen-orientated, pseudo-Vampire movies. Nosferatu is a true masterpiece about vampires. Twilight and shit is a parody. BR has not specifically been designed for a target audience for exclusively those with a Phd, for example. It is for a general audience. If you don't understand it first time, watch it again until you do.

  • @dsdan83 At least I don't resort to outright insulting people who disagree with me. Many poeple like Twilight and it is good when you want to enjoy watching a movie, rather than dissecting and analysing everything about it, but I don't see how this has anything to do with this argument. I like many different movies, including TItanic.

And a movie isn't meant to wached multiple times. It is made to be seen once and enjoyed, especially back then, when movies were harder to go see.

  • @Voesyy

No honey, there's where u are gravely wrong. Anyone has has a particular likening to a movie, especially when it is a favorite movie, would typically have viewed it dozens if not 100s of times. whereas thought-provoking movies tend to be viewed at least twice for it not being deeply intriguing then for it having raised an issue or issues that leave a lasting impression. BR left a many pondering and is certainly worth viewing multiple times. Entertainment is only one factor of a movie.

  • @Voesyy And also movies don't have to be thought provoking. Sometimes you just want to enjoy watching a film. I like many very different films and liking Twilight doesn't discredit what I'm saying. It just shows that I like to watch enjoyable films as well. After all, films are made for entertainment.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Ta doesn't make them stupid.

I don't need to insult other people's intelligence to make my point valid.

  • @Voesyy no

  • @Voesyy I'd give it another try, personally-I didn't fully get it at first, either, but once I did I uncovered a masterpiece of a film. You can talk about your Godfathers and your Citizen Cane but Blade Runner belongs up there with them. I don't think I've seen a more thought-provoking film.

I won't insult your taste or anything heh-you're welcome to your opinion, but I hope you get the chance to check it out again some time and appreciate it on it's own merits, aside from the book :)

  • incredible!
