an european car magazine (EVO) tested the 997 GT3 and the nissan GT-R and the GT3 was actually .4 of a second faster? what gives? or what happened is anybody's guess, both are very capable cars, but I will take the GT3, call me shallow but the porsche has that "got to have it" factor

It's not surprising that the GTR is slightly faster than the GT3, after all the GT3 is a naturally aspirated 3.6 liter 6. The GTR is a 3.8 liter six with two monstrous turbos slapped on it. No doubt the GT3 handles better. And there is a new GT3 that I think would best the GTR.

Nissan..... Need I Say Something About Nothing? I'll take the Porsche regardless of what the GTR can supposedly do. It looks like a giant G35. And that's saying a lot because I drive a 2009 Corvette; I'm supposed to hate Porsches. LOL!

In my country, I can exchange my 996GT3 with GTR and get some changes back.. but I don't think I'm gonna do that...

Another friends of mine own GTR and 430Scuderia. He modified the GTR computer chip to get 530 HP and claimed that it is faster than his scuderia... but he didn't give dam.. he loves his scuderia a lot more.

Being faster is easy.. I can modify a honda civic to beat GTR too...

Well nissan may have won this time. But if you know Germans you'll know that they'll be pissed and make somthing 3 times better. 4000lbs and 480hp...right?? it has a quick 0-60 but all that HAS to slow down at certain speeds- I don't care how good nissan engineers are- you can't fight the law of physics, thats a big car! and butt ugly too and nonetheless what ever happened to driver involvement?

Some test have recorded a 3.2 seconds 0-60, that's quicker than a GT2 and under 80K. Hell I spent just over 70K for my 05 997 4S. I really want to drive the GTR and compare the ride to my 997 4S! I'm interested in the ride and feel of the car, cabin noise, just everything. I know I know, hate to leave the Porsche club, but this is too impressive!!

The GTR is faster and better than the best Porsche 911 ever made and it will be less than half the Porsche's price here in Australia when it arrives. I wonder how all you Porsche owners feel right now! Short changed. And don't give me that bull shit about "how can you compare a Nissan with a Porsche". Nissan beats the Porsche, so Nissan is clearly superior!

Very nice. Although I don't agree about the "tie". GTR would be clearly declared the winner by miles if it came from Audi, Aston, Ferrari, or BMW.

R35 is at the top of my wish list.
