The cafe shown at the start was much the same when I used it in the 1960s. The food and drink was awful even by the standards of the time. There was also a cafe on platform 14 (I think) which was the only place in York where you could get refreshments after midnight. At least some things have changed for the better!
I'll probably look at the station differently from now. ^_^
