  • I've followed Allen closely since '77, own every DVD & book, have seen every film at least a few times... and absolutely ADORE Whatever Works, which I find one of his funniest and one of his smartest.

Thanks for sharing this glimpse behind the scenes.

  • I think he is a good actor, despite what he says

  • When you look at really funny films by Woody Allen such as Sleeper, Bananas, Love & Death, Annie Hall etc this is total rubbish. You can actually hear the camera in several of the scenes, something a good director would try & do something about and an unknown would be called an amateur for if he didn't. Ever since Bullets over Broadway Woody Allen's films have to be graded a terrible green & yellow colour, it's like suffering from a kind of colour-blindness brain disease.

  • One very grim very unfunny film indeed. WA should have stopped years ago.

  • One of woody's best. Really. If you don't like it, you had better to have a foot massage.

I'd like to hear what's the "true" wisdom.

Maybe the un-mystic girl has it in her pocket.

  • @FRK64

the man has been making this same movie for over 20 years so every accussation and analysis is printed on film many times over.

when someone has no ground for defending what they're defending, they always opt for cheap jokes and personal attacks. i think you can do better for the "director" and "writer", if you want to defend him publicly.

  • @mysticgirl1000

    the point is:

if you don't like Woody's film, why do you put your comments in many other uploads of this movie? do you want to found a political party? do you have a personal war to fight?. On the other hand you can do better fo the director and writer if you want to attack him publicly.

  • @mysticgirl1000 - Come on ... don't beat about the bush ... say what's on your mind

  • @nellac2007

    LOL

  • @mysticgirl1000 You I like.

  • Larry David being directed by Woody Allen in Battery Park New York City.... that is the most Jewish thing I've ever heard. They probably wrapped up the shoot by stomping on a champaign glass.

  • Woody Allen looks like he's trying to look like Akira Kurosawa.

  • pretty pretty pretty good

  • Thanks for posting, nellac2007. Great to see 2 geniuses (David and Allen) working together.

  • No problem ... just realised ... it's one year ago today that I was in New York and lucky enough to stumble across this. I think the film is coming out this month or next?

  • In the end of the Oscars this year they had forthcoming features and I was excited to see Larry David in a main role, but I didn't know it was a Woody Allen film. It'll be interesting. But I bet no improv like Curb :-)

  • I had no idea woody allen slept with his girlfriends daughter. That's so badass!!!

  • Yeah he's like a war criminal (1)

    ---

    1. Ironic

  • It was her adopted daughter, so it's not like they were related.

  • still sick though, no?

  • I guess it's all in how you look at it.

  • If you can tell me in what world or light it is not extremely offensive and wrong, i will forever stand corrected...

nurturing your baby, child, teenager, to later run off with it? Nobody should sleep with anybody whose diapers they changed and read stories to. It's highly confusing for the kids and a severe kick in the stomach for Mia Farrow. (rant over)

  • How 'bout this; anyone who gives a fuck is an asshole? Works for me.

  • nontheless brilliant at what he does

  • Fuck you mr moral.

  • Read books, papers. Watch movies. And, you make your opinion.

  • No bra no panties.

  • LOL**

  • The no bra no panties is a reference to Thirteen not just some perverted statement.

  • Dios vuelve a New York!!!

  • Nothings sacred anymore.

Wheres the youtube video of them first waking up in the moning? How about their first piss of the day? Lets watch it all and pretend this planet isn't sinking lower and lower everyday.....

  • What are you talking about? They're filming in public.

  • This was very interesting to watch. It's a clip that captures an acted scene, the way you don't see it in a movie. Not in a fancy widescreen frame with great lighting and superbly clear sound and cuts and closeups and all that stuff that makes up film language and strips away reality. It's just like watching two people in a park from a nearby bench. And how does Evan Rachel Wood come across? Well, COMPLETELY UNNATURAL. If wonder if the effect will be the same in the movie. Thanks for this clip!

  • What's interesting is that Larry David looks like he's really having a real conversation. But she...she's terrible. One hopes that exceptional editing makes her otherwise second rate acting easier to swallow.

  • Yeah, he seems a lot more natural, although he is facing away most of the time... I really hope this scene stays in and that we get a chance to see it in the movie when it's out, it will be most interesting!

  • Comment removed

  • it must be hard to act in a park like that...

  • i fear this movie. Woody's latest stuff has made me hate actors. But He's old friends with Larry so it should be good I;'m hoping. When he casts his buddies it usually works. And Larry is really in a groove right now so I'm curious to se what the fuck the movie is even about. Woody still has some sleeper ( no pun intended there ) hits left me thinks. Or I thinks.

    Yo

    Later

  • I have been following Woody for over 30 years and I have never heard , read or seen anything about he and Larry David being old friends. Just curious where you got that from ?

  • goddamn larry david is so fucking fantastic. i can't wait to see this movie, i hope to god it isn't pg or something, larry needs his FREEDOM!

  • its with woody so he'll prob get more freedom than hes ever had working on another persons project

  • This is great. The only problem is that without the dialog, I imagine Larry just rambling about who played quarterback for the Giants in 1972. What is she eating? I'd kill for some ice cream but I'm literally 5,000 miles from my home in SC. I think she is improvising the script so she could eat ice cream, and just nod and say mm hmmm. Too bad it's in a cup and the spoon is so little. A girl her age eats more, and where's the chocolate?

  • larry david's argumentative gesticulating as ever.

  • I hope this film he's doin' won't impede plans on CYE season 7 coming this year...

  • This is a dream collaboration. Huge fan of both, and Larry David, while hugely talented in his own right, does owe a nod to Woody Allen. Alot of people do.

  • great video! I wish we could hear wht they were saying tho

  • Thanks for posting this vid! i cant believe woody allen and larry david. amazing. cant wait to see this film. when does the next season of curb start?

  • started filming in december!

  • Awesome, I saw this being filmed that day- on my first visit to New York. Couldn't believe my luck, I absolutely adore Larry David.

  • Larry David AND Woody Allen?!?!?!? This is to good to be true.

  • i want to see both larry david and woody allen talking in a scene

  • lolita2 ?

  • No probs. Looking forward to film and Season 7 too

  • Sorry, you're wrong ... it IS the new Woody film. I was there and I spoke to the film crew. Curb is filmed 3,000 miles away on the west coast. This is in New York. Just type "Woody Allen Larry David" into Google and count the references to this film.

  • It is about time these two work together again. It looks as if LD has a much bigger role than in the last Woody Allen flick he was in. I think it is fitting since Woody was such a huge influence on Larry's work with Seinfeld. I can't wait to see this movie. It is called Whatever Works and comes out sometime in 2009.

  • It's like the worst but quickest released pirate ever.

  • I always thought that Larry David and woody Allen would work great together!

  • Can't wait to see it!

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks very much

  • wow, jewish neurotic new york heaven

  • so cool!

  • cool! did you get to meet him?

  • Afraid not. They kept us at a distance of about 40 yards. Luckily my videocam has a good zoom!

  • Thanks for posting this!
