I can't believe he is using the edge of the D.A. sander, the first thing they teach you is not to use the edge on any flat surface as this heats up the metal and makes it warp...
@Demolitionist007 Most likely it's solvent pop. If the paint isn't allowed to cure properly before you apply clear coat, the solvent that is trapped underneath the clear has to come out. It does this by forcing its' way from the paint through the clear and leaves pinholes. If you put your nose close to the affected area and can smell solvent then you know that's the culprit.
i can tell a bunch of the kids commenting on this r pretty much still in high school and in auto collision classes. lol. they state random facts that ppl already kno to sound lyk they kno everything. and btw yes i am a girl, i work in a body shop and do custom and show quality work. i kno what im talking about and if anyone has a problem with me or wat i do then u can get over it. ~~mellyybooo
wow someone has no clue how to feather edge he tilted it way to much, used way to much air pressure and to fine of sandpaper. he also had to big of an area and way to much metal showing. there should never be that much metal. at the most there should be 1 square inch showing
Using 80 will make a bigger repair area. Then you will be working your 80 scratched extending the feather edge even further. The ideas is to keep the repair as small as possible.
only one tip I would like to add to this video he should keep opening the edge to reach the 2nd repair area... so this way to keep only 4 sides sanded & feather edged instead he has 8 sides going now..Just my experience

Wrong grit at .49 NOTHING finer then 80 sould be used to feather edge all that crap as it will just take to long and cause warpage (IMHO)
Cut it down FASTER and COOLER with courser grade.
