I'm glad this issue of Pikey has been brought up. It is not acceptable for the word PIKEY to be banded about as an insult to somone. It is completely racist. Would Jonathan Ross use the Ni---r word, as a common insult. Thinking about his past history of gaffs, maybe. But he would draw the line. The word is used on the BBC quite often on Eastenders too. To Romanys this word is no different than calling people Pak-'s as a derogitory term for being a problem family.
