Also, whats interesting about Roxy Music is that at the time, 1972 they were considered to be amateurs by professional musical standards, an oddity even by Glam standards. Unphased, they and certainly Bryan Ferry went on to do great things.
The scene is hypnotic and literally takes me back to that era of the early 70s, the transition from Jr. High School to High School and all the implications of innocence colliding with adolescence, the birth of sexual desire, passion and love. They really nailed the essence of that space in time, causing my mind to spin off into memories of people, girls I knew at the time and music Right down to the wardrobe and Felicity Jones is wonderful!
Same here, it wierdly makes me sad.... mayby cause I've seen the end of the movie and the release of the emotion, this song caused. I would call it my "let yourself and also everyting else go..." song. And see how the world just drifts away, even if it is just for a moment. ; I
@lacarneinflamare Wow you captured it exactly. It does have that exact feeling. It almost takes your breath away. Its funny how certain movies can bring emotion like this.
i watched this movie at least five times in two days... its soo amazing... so moving... so touching... and the last scene with the same music is so gr8... i cried everytime i saw this it... lol
Great song, great scene, I get goosebumps every time too. I've done nothing but recommend this film to everyone, its so credible and no doubt reminds everyone of something from their own wonder years. Not a Daniel Craig fan but he did well as executive producer of this one. Did anybody recognise the old lady? She was the Union Rep in The Rag Trade TV sitcom back in the day, always calling "Everybody Out" . Its a gem of a movie with the great Roxy Music feel running through it.
Look like what a lot of people have said this Movie has to be the most profound and thought provoking one I have ever scene. The thing with it it relates to all of us on the same emotional level of having been a naive young person and having lost a loved one through sheer stupidity of the flesh, 5 Stars for such a fantastic movie that made me reminisce of my early years finding myself in the 70's!
Just saw the movie, fantastic scene and the girl (off Meadowlands). Movie really was a thinking movie about childhood and how it changes and molds your life, and how it really is probably the best times of your life.
This was my favorite part of the movie! this song is now my myspace song. I loved the movie, very original! I thought I'd try to find this scene on google but thought for sure I wouldnt be able to find it but I guess I wasnt the only one who loved this scene.
I love this movie. I had to watch it twice to tie everything together because I wasn't paying close enough attention the first time. I love this scene, my favorite part of the film.
