its all about the gaa, "the grab all association" what about other sports? cycling, running clubs, tennis ect, and do you have to pay membership ? to use the "playground" is gaa /soccer , the only sport in cabra for the young/adults, go on give the kids back their free sandpit,,,,,,
Thats the playground where so many kids played all year round, then it was sold to fin bars, know it has bars and gaa. Know theres no playground for any of the ordinary kids in the area. Great for members, but what a shame for ordinary kids who just want somewhere to go and play soccer, tennis, rounders, draughts, table tennis, play in the sandpit and just hang out all day, any day of the year. SAD.
Lest there be any doubt - the kids who play in Naomh Fionnbarra are also "ordinary kids". A Juvenile Club operates from the premises throughout the week where the younger members can enjoy computer games, pool, art and other activities under adult supervision. Add to that the regular special events such as Hallowe'en and Christmas parties plus trips organised by the club's dedicated mentors and you begin to get some idea of the value of Naomh Fionnbarra to the young people of Cabra.
