  • IL 7 GIORNO DIO SI E' RIPOSATO.-IL GIORNO SUCCESSIVO DIO HA CREATO SERGEY RACHMANINOV

  • I listen to this when I play Madden.

  • lil' wayne who?

  • Maravilloso.

  • Thank you!

  • I love this concert!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so beautiful and comforting...you feel like no matter what has gone wrong, if you listen to this...everything will be just fine

  • Bieber?...whats a bieber?

  • I grew up listening to my mom play this so beautifully. She was suppose to be a concert pianist but gave it up to raise a family. My whole childhood I was so blessed to have been able to have a concert of this beautiful music in my home. Now that she has dementia and only recognizes music but doesn't remember being able to play it...it breaks my heart & now brings tears to my eyes...especially Warsaw Concerto by Richard Addinsell...my favorite piece that she used to play.

  • I have been in such a bad mood lately, but then I listened to Rachmaninov and I feel at ease again. Thank you ftopkavip.

  • This is actually the music that significantly means something. Unlike "artists" such as Bieber and Gaga, "composers" are able to create a kindling fire within you. Something special and untouched.

  • @oomjos I think that such comparations are out of order, when I listen to this often I forget about ordinary and mundane things, such as those.....

  • @20jklm 'comparisons' excuse my grammar

  • @oomjos don't compare, gaga and bieber are mass entertainers and catch a different feeling than rachmaninov. Its just different

  • As a clarinetist, I love how the piano and clarinet blend.

    :)

  • one more that suffered some kind of illness was Glenn Gould.. that tryed to match Rach's league...

  • some kind of odd, unexplainable thing bout rach, everyone who have got into his kind of pieces. has became schitzo or brain damage on some level.. first you got David Helfgodt, and then martha she's abit schitzo in her intervjues...

  • i can only figure one alive that got as great hands as rach himself and that would be Martha Argerich.. as big as "John lid's"..

  • 9:27 , top five best moments in all of music

  • @aronsar3927 Only rach himself can play this piece of the song correctly due to his enormous "space" between his fingers...

  • This is identical to "All By Myself" and here I thought Eric Carmen wrote it himself :(

  • @magpieeye I guess he didn't write All By Myself all by himself. ;)

  • Does anyone else think this is a bit too fast?

  • @parkxi Yeah it is, but at least the quality is nice, we can't have everything I suppose.

  • My love, that sweet melancholy of yours drives me to the core insanity, wish to be insane, wish to be frozen in a place in time and space, to love, to feel, to enjoy that delicate beauty of yours, hear my soul that cry for you, my lovely girl. haven't tell you, haven't you notice? there is no one like you...

  • None compares to Sviatoslav Ruchter's version.

  • totally masterpiece!

  • Too fast!!!!!!

  • I am so emotionally affected by the music that it physically pains my heart to listen, it's so beautiful that it is almost unbearable. This song is a part of my being - it makes me feel so complete, yet so empty at the same time.

  • @thumble360 That's a bit gay it's just a song.

  • @thumble360 beautiful words my friend, I guess it got a meaning for each in his own way, and for each in his own time, for me is the reminder of love true love in every key, reminds me of a woman which I love, but is more, is a love that transcend the ethereal human boundaries, and for me has a meaning who goes far away beyond this words.

  • I start crying at 0:00 and continue till 10:46...... I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Tender splendor.

  • 8:58 The phrasing + ensemble!! Awesome!!

  • sorry most amazing piece of music I have heard in life

  • must amazing piece I have heard in all my life

  • if it were in my power to choose a song, for a spacial probe like the Voyager, I without any doubt will choose this particular song to be carried by the spaceship, and in a far away time in the interstellar void, someone, somewhere, will listen to this song and will say, "what a wonderful thing must be to be this kind of being".

  • Hahaha.. Are you MAAD?? This "dude" is one of the greatest composers and pianists of 19 century........ This virtuosu music can't be compares with nth modern, especially with C.Dion :D ahaha !!! Right, you have to shoot yourself while listening your stupid music...

  • I just listen to this song by Rackmamninovf and I was blown! in fact it sounds like Celine Dion's song "all by myself"! Did this dude copy her or something?

  • @scottysonf Please, shoot yourself.

  • @scottysonf

    yes

  • @scottysonf All By Myself was written by Eric Carmen, and he is the one who copied Sergei Rachmaninov

  • @B004017 We're on the Internet. None of us have a life.

  • it buffered during a suspension i had to grab a guitar and resolve before my head burst

  • Rach is my favorite composer. His passion tugs at my heart. Love him!

  • Nice........thanks for the post!

  • The opening is stunning

  • I have heard of this song in James bond movie.

  • IMPORTANTE!!!!!!!: ESCUCHAD A PARTIR DEL SEGUNDO 30´, ¿NO OS RECUERDA UNA CANCIÒN CASI ACTUAL? EN CONCRETO LA CANCIÓN DE CELINE DIÓN, ALL BY MY SELF.

NO HAY DERECHO A QUE PLAGIEN ASÍ UNA OBRA. ¿DÓNDE QUEDA LA ORIGINALIDAD?

  • @aeiou78100

  • 10 people dislikes this!?!?! why!??! Do you have a heart?

  • This is better quality sound than i would have expected. Lovely rendition but piano track a bit lost in the mix. And this is a slight problem - it sounds like a mix - production is good enough quality, but a mix nontheless, which takes away the live feel of the whole presentation. Does anybody know if an early (historical) recording of the composer as soloist exists?

  • It shouldn't matter how many people like or dislike this music. It just matters if you do or not. So shush and just listen

  • i love rachmaninoff's compositions... they are unique in every composition one is never the same as the other...

  • 10 people pressed dislike button

  • @sougias78 How so? Just intrigued. :)

  • Maravilloso!

  • Mi preferido;Inspiración pura

  • there was a pop song in 1976 called "All by myself " by Eric Carmen, you can google this song and you will find they have some similarity.

  • @huj0727 A lot of similarity, I should say...:) I have just listened to it.

  • @huj0727 "All By Myself": The verse is based on the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18. The chorus borrows from the song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973 (Wikipedia)

  • Кто не в курсе, второй концерт был написан Сергеем Рахманиновым в 1900 году.

Who does not know, the second concerto was written by Sergei Rachmaninoff in 1900.

  • @huj0727 yeah i noticed that, there's a little roll he does that goes with the "those days are gone" line

  • @huj0727 Of Course Eric Carmen based his song on Rachnaminov´s theme.

  • @huj0727 Eric Carmen plays de concert in his audition 8a part of it)

  • This is the most beautilful piece of music I have ever head

  • So wonderful, so inspired, so soul- soothing!...

  • 7 people have different taste in music and that's perfectly reasonable.

  • @dumbhead3

Well not exactly....if someone sees a Ferrari passing by on the road and says...."this car sucks".....he is not someone who just has a different taste in cars but somebody who should seek professional help immediately....hahahaaaaa!!!

Well this Rachmaninov's concerto... is a Ferrari!

  • @dumbhead3 ooo you're a clever one aren't ya ; )

  • @dumbhead3 the different taste is perfectly reasonable, what's not reasonable is coming here and listening to this music, and leaving dislike note. don't like it, go somewhere where you will like it

  • @emijta how about finding out IF you like it?

  • @dumbhead3 No it doesn't, they're just ignorants

  • @dumbhead3 it's as if you have taken higher ground - an unparalleled level of maturity on youtube - validated by the 94 thumbs up

  • @dumbhead3

but still they don't have to click on that dislike button

  • 9:28 what emotion, what overwhelming passion flows from the human spirit in this piece

  • Wow, the first time I ever heard a classical panty dropper song. Pure epicness!

  • I drift away listening to this.. Its nice watching the sun set to this :']

  • can i cry...

  • going from music like dragon force and dubstep to this, my music taste may be fucked up, but it's the best ;D

  • @michaelclark09 In this case, my taste may be fucked up too, but I adore this concerto!:)

  • 7 people have no soul.

  • Fantástico !!!!! A riqueza de toda a melodia com os encontros da harmonização . E o tempo passou e atualmente a conhecemos como All By My Self.... Um dos Grandes " Mestres " das simfonias e concertos. Sergey Rachmaninov. Poeta das notas . MARAVILHOSO! Fátima Neves Diretora da Academia Musical Point. Musical Point Sempre Um Toque A Mais

  • sometimes, when i'm listening this amazing piece... i cry; but, my tears are tears of joy; i can't explain exactly what i feel, but i think im ready to die after hearing it.

  • @SIGKOTAROSIG

I get waves of chills and actual goosebumps up my back when I hear perfect magic magic.

  • @SIGKOTAROSIG That's exactly how I feel!

  • This song always make me like flying to the dream world..

  • Fantástica composición. Un 10

  • The song as a hole is beautiful, but this beginning in particular... is simply impossible to describe with words.

  • The name is the same as the first movement for Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This is nowhere NEAR as good or as haunting, and some of it seems even rehashed.

  • @NaarghultheShadow Lol sounds like you might be confused about the meaning of Adagio Sostenuto. It is just instructions for the tempo. It means go slow and use a sustained style. A sustained style is one where the notes tend to be drawn out a lot.

  • @NaarghultheShadow You're comment made me laugh, it reminds me of how very little people now about good music these days or even about music itself since you don't understand what adagio sostenuto means.

  • A mi gusto Rachmaninov fue el mejor compositor para piano, mejor incluso que Chopin y Liszt. For me, it is the best composer for piano.

  • Its AMAZING how some people have absolutely NO respect for good quality music! SHAME on those who dislike and fast forward!

  • Has anybody else cried at 9:28? It's just too gorgeous for words.

  • @SordidSleeper

I have difficulty not crying most of the way through

  • @SordidSleeper

Yes, and it's the perfect moment to kiss the woman you love, as tenderly as possible..

  • @SordidSleeper No, the entire part from 9:03 to the end is beautiful. I remember when I had a Myspace (ha, remember those?) and I put that excerpt as my page's theme. Gorgeous.

  • @SordidSleeper goosebumps

  • @SordidSleeper

what pop song is 01:42 >>> 01:56 copied from ?

its on the tip of my whatsit

  • @donnyab I don't know if anybody already answered your question, but it is "All by myself" by Eric Carmen, you're thinking of.

  • @donnyab "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen.

  • I don't know that much about classical pieces, and this was the first time I've ever heard this work. At first I've found it somewhat weird and chaotic, but I loved the part at 5:35 and the end too =3

They were new sounds to me, and I've listened it again and again trying to catch it. It's becoming one of my favourites pieces. Great discovery!

Btw, if you want to get this song you could try aTube Catcher. It's for videos, and audio tracks too.

    Nananaaaa nanananaaa nananaaaa :B

  • Where can I get the original flac?

  • Unashamedly beautiful

  • Still beautiful like the first movement.. :-D

  • The whole concerto is exceptional..the last minute and a half or so of this movement always gets me.

  • Love this interpretation! it's definitely not too fast

  • on the 10th day he departed from our world and on this great day we all remember him, not just for his music but for his love of classic music and the inpiration he created within all of us

  • Beautiful, beautiful piece, but whoever interpreted this played it far too fast.

  • 6 people are deaf.

  • @THELOCKNESS101 shut the fuck up

  • @THELOCKNESS101 so what they probably beethovens

  • @THELOCKNESS101 ya son siete

  • I agree about the tempo. Sounds a bit, "lets get it over with".

  • too fast !!

  • One of my MOST favorite pieces, PERIOD. So expressive and haunting...could be a soundtrack to my life. :)

  • beutiful. (this is comming from a total metal head)

  • No doubt, God exist !!

  • @vicenteaboites Well Rachmaninov existed anyway thankfully

  • I love this piece!

  • When i listen this piece, i always feel so confident about my fellow listeners.... :)

When i am listening here, i feel free

  • The most beautiful piece of music I ever heard fantastic near had me in tears wanna start it again it so beautiful

  • IT WAS SOO G0:00D I WANT TO START IT AGAIN! :D

  • This is the best thing ever written

I would also like to take the time and point out that the clarinet part for this movement is badass

Rachmaninov knows how to write the best clarinet parts

  • This truly magical, and has been voted No1 piece of classical music in Classic FM's Hall of Fame yet again! - Yaaay

  • Is it just me or is the clarinet a bit sharp. It's sticking out like a thorn...

  • @andyng85 not until you mentioned it. now thats all i hear:p

  • @andyng85 NO. DON'T YOU RUIN THIS FOR ME. Now of course I'm going to listen to it again and notice it every time.

  • @GrundyMad sorry, didn't mean to...

  • @andyng85 Clarinets are ALWAYS sharp.

  • I agree that this is an excellent rendition. Several of the other versions are weak because they don't maintain the integrity of the triplets, so that the two-against-three texture doesn't work, but rather sounds awkward and fitful.

To me, this movement is a descendant of the Andante Teneramente middle section in F sharp minor of Brahms' Intermezzo in A major, opus 118 no.2, which employs the two-against-three rhythmic fabric to wonderful ends.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • stunning, inspiring, uplifting, reminds me of someone I once knew

  • ...and on the 10th day Celine Dion plagiarized it.

  • @andutadragan

You mean Eric Carmen. He's the guilty one. Celene just did her own rendition. Eric Carmen wrote the banal lyrics and collected off of a wonderful instrumental that wasn't his. We all know that it's the instruments and the melody that are responsible for the son'g success. Not his long, tragic, and deflated cries for attention.

  • @andutadragan plagarized* ,by the way. and He got credit for it, she purchased the rights.

  • @disfiguration plagiarized*

  • Oh God in Heaven this is perfect paralizing bliss! Thank you.

  • it's so beautiful...

  • 100,000 views!! Yeah!

  • This is the most beautiful piece of music ever composed and performed. If this music doesn't appeal to you then I really feel sorry for you.

  • This is the first thing i listened to with my bose headphones

  • 4 people don't have feelings

  • ma nessuno sente la forte somiglianza con ALL BY MYSELF!

  • Can't even begin to imagine how 4 people could dislike this.

  • simplemente fantastico

  • this piece is beautiful... forgive me if i am mistaken but that clarinet is not quite in tune..

  • es hermosa, nunca me canso de escuhar este concierto!!!

  • I can never get tired of this song.

  • this is probably the best song i'll ever heard

  • When the progress bar reached 9:30, I knew that the 2012 doomsday is a big lie!

  • Perfect

  • all by myself by celine dion - stolen

  • @igortom1 - "All By Myself" was originally recorded by Eric Carmen in 1976. He admitted that he had based it on this piece...

  • from 03:43 to 04:05 is just omg I can't even explain it,it touches my soul so hard in a way that cannot be explained

  • Une pure merveille, pour seulement 74 000 vues elle en mériterai 10 millions de plus, au moins...

  • and makin love was just for fun, those days are gone......

  • eric carmen you bastard!

  • @hotvision I know! It makes me mad because I associate this extraordinary melody to such a common ballad song ¬¬

  • I'll be hearing this by the Cleveland Orchestra in April! Can't wait!

  • @mahler151

    Where??!!

  • @Aristarxos85 Cleveland Orchestra, featuring Jiří Bělohlávek as conductor and Horacio Gutiérrez as soloist.

  • Superb. Just superb.

  • Carnforth Concerto ? Milford Mezzo ? - Anoraks Anthem !

  • when i'm listening to this i'm so glad that there's music

  • so beautiful, i want to cry.

  • HOLY CRAP !!!! IT DOES SOUND LIKE ERIC CARMEN'S ALL BY MYSELF!!!!! LAWSUIT!!! JK!!! HAHAHAH

  • @ojmccaf63

Rachmaninoff is actually credited as original composer in the "All by my self" song =)
