i had this a week a ago after broken nose, the pain was actually okay, but they really drugged me up, just a lot of discomfort!

i had a septoplasty after Cottle (+ cauterization of the conchae nasales inferiores) two days ago and it didn't hurt a bit. the only thing that hurt is when i got the temponades removed today.

it's just very annoying that i've got a damn runny nose and i must not sneeze...

the operation took 80 minutes btw.

I had Septoplasty along with 4 other sinus procedures 2 days ago. Yes, it hurts. The annoying part is the stint discomfort and changing pads a lot. Can't wait to get the stints out tomorrow.  Taking Percocet and Tylenol for pain every 6 hours; helps me sleep too.

I have just arrived home from having a Septaplasty and Fess procedure done. I didn't have the splints I had packing. which was removed 8 hours later. I couldn't believe all that packing up one nostril! when the packing was removed from the first nostril it was like someone turned on an air ventilator. Consultant said it will take 2-4 week to begin feeling the real benefits of the surgery. Glad i had it done!

I had the septoplasty in December.

Not only did it help the function of the inside of the nose, but it improved my exterior profiles as well.

They are less dissimilar now.

i'm glad I did it.

my nose was recently shattered. i mean... blasted into pieces, the doctor went in and did closed reduction and placed them. however when he did my septum buckled and i beleive a part of my nasal bone is trying to protrude through my right nostril. its closed off, hard to breathe. i just hope it heals and everything is well! if not ill need septoplasty and possibly a rebrake! :( and yea, getting packing removed HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU­UUUURRRRRTSSSSS

I had a septoplasty and polypectomy a few months back. Removing the nasal packing hurt like hell and I had about the worst sinus pressure headache for 2 weeks but after I was fully recovered I felt great. I breathe way better than before.

hey..i just had mine 3 days ago, am nose is so stuffed i still cant breath throuhg my nose have to slepp with my mouth open and am getting alot of muscus. did this also happen to you? when did u start breathin fully? Thank You so much

Yeah you will probably have to breathe through your mouth until your nasal packing gets removed. Then you will breathe very easily.

You're a dumbass. Septoplasties are usually done because of deviation and bone spurs. Septoplasty is not rhinoplasty.

it's by no means fun lol. I survived and it would have been worth it if i only had to get it done once, but no 1 more time then all is well. DAMN a broken nose. The pain pills were the ez part :D

As far as spiting out congealed blood wait till you have pieces of your sinus cavity come out of your nose. Truthfully it really wasnt worth it. I already think i am going to have to have it done again.

I just had this surgery done monday along with removal of polyps from my front sinuses. Yesterday I took the nasal packing out and it hurt like hell. Today I was able to start flushing out my nose with saline and i'm starting to be able to breathe again through my nose. I hope when it's all said and done the surgery will be worth it.

I just got my splints out today. The surgery wasnt bad, and it didnt hurt, but only breathing through your mouth for a week gets annoying...but other than that....not too bad

I had mine on thursday (3 days ago). I still have the packing in my nose and it won't be removed until tuesday. There really hasn't been much pain other than the headache from all of the packing. I've been really tired.......today has probably been the best day though, I've been up almost all day.
