again , to all of them ho say the truck drivers are dumb,, ,,,,FUCK YOU,,,,,,,,, we work hard and we ,, FUCK YOU HARD,,,, you should be the jerk siting behind the computer all day sucking the pen,,,you sad you work with them,, if you are DM we FUCK YOU more then,,,what about the 4 wheelers they know left and right ? the make all the accidents in the highways, do they know the trafic rules ? special if there is a truck close to them they get confuse, don't know where to drive ,, they suck.
@hercules784 Im not saying there are no good drivers out there, im saying that alot of them just dont care about there vehicle or anything else, case in point- I recently gave a driver a brand new cascadia. it just got delivered with 7 miles on it. he drove it for two weeks and brought it back with no drivers side mirror, no antennas and the bumper smashed in. the trailer was in worse shape and it was only 5 months old. this guy has been driving for 22 years.
TO ALL OF THEM WHO HATE TRUCK DRIVERS,,,, FUCK YOU,,,,, you should know more about the truck drivers, they are courageous with bigg heart , that's why they have the nickname ,, THE HIGHWAY HORSES,,, if they stop driving ,, you will died for food.
@hercules784 Truck drivers are about the dumbest people i know, I work with them, most of them dont know right from left, and these arn't mexicans either, these are guys that have been driving for years, its amazing that they can find their way out of bed in the morning. The stories i could tell you.
wow after seeing the comments here about the cascadia, i;m feeling convinced that the cascadia will meet the same fame as the Coronado? i heard the same bad stuff about it as well! :(
I drive a 2004 Freightliner Columbia with a ten speed automatic transmission with a Mercedes engine and I couldn't be happier. It's a very comfortable ride. I run Montreal - California and it's fun to drive. Thanks gang...;)
Looks nice, but I'm sticking with Kenworth. Can't beat a Kenworth. The New T660's are very good trucks. I haven't heard much on the T700's, but they looks like reliable trucks
I figured they would have rearranged things so you wouldn't have to have the arm rest down so you don't knock your elbow into it.
i also wonder if they rearranged the gauges so that the important ones like oil pressure (upper left of the panel) and pyrometer ( lower left) aren't blocked by the steering wheel.
I guess you could get used to moving your head around to see the gauges and shifting with your elbow up.
Goes to show the guys who design 'em aren't the guys who drive 'em.
Drove a brand new one over at Prime that a friend of mine got. Hated it. To new and takes the fun out of what truckin' really is. I wouldn't go with anything newer than a century. Rather have an FLD120 straight 10 or 13 with a 475 or higher twin turbo Cat ir N-14.
That's a fun video! The Cascadia looks like a beautiful vehicle. If they are having that much trouble, I hope they get it resolved soon. D-B took over Freightliner in the early '80s.
I heard a lot of bad things about these trucks. for one the windshields were popping out and heard a story about a werner driver who's cab fell off the frame while he was turning a corner. turns out there were only 2 bolts holding the entire cab to the frame.
The new Cascadia is a real lemon and it's messing up many owner/operators' lives, including my own, and Freightliner should be ashamed. We're talking about net losses in the tens of thousands, mostly due to downtime. One of us has taken the time to put up a website about all the problems he's had with his truck. Kudos to him for the effort. You can check it out at: (triple w) freightlinerproblems (dot com)
@biggestMetallicAfan freightliners suck, I've driven freightshakers, Petes, K-Whoppers, Volvo's & Cornbinders. The Internationals are good basic trucks, they'll get the job done. Pete's & Kenworth's are pretty good. if you want to spend the extra money. but Freightshakers & Volvo's are garage queens, they are always needing something fixed.
@kdraper2007 They ain't bad, my last job was driving an FLD Wrecker, it never had a problem, got kinda warm sometimes hauling up parleys canyon, but that's about it.
Hank, I don't know how you could possibly afford to run a 8v92, but I will say this, there is no engine in the world that sounds as cool as those old "Leak troits". The first big truck I ever drove had a 8v92tta which was rated at 445 hp , which in the mid 80's was big power. 4.7-5.0 mpg and a gallon of Delo 400 every 1000 miles though. Good old Silver Ninety Two !
20 some years ago, Freightliners were called "The poor man's Peterbilt" Freightliner has come a LONG way, and personally I would take a Freightliner over a Peterbilt, but I would take a KW over both.
I'm a long trucker and my freind drives the Cascadia. He's had nothing but problems with the exuast. His company is recalling all Cascadia's due to several fatalities with the truck. Accourding to all the drivers I talk to that drive one, most say they either have problems with the exhaust or electrical. Due to that I'm going to keep my Classic XL for a while.
i am not a driver but it looks like a well made , easy to operate vehicle. i think i would order it with the cat engine for some reason. I would look to buy this truck with an APU, even with the batteries for the HVAC system, and a bathroom and shower facility you can obtain as an add-on behind the sleeper.
@pete01768 it's not well made, There have been numerous reports of cabs breaking loose from the frame while in motion, electrical problems, transmission problems, engine problems, exhaust problems, & numerous fatalities caused by structural failure.
they dont only use mercedes engines they use detroit engines as well but you can order it with any engine you want the truck in the video has a dtroit in it thats what the guy saidd anyways. I prefer the 600 cat i got in my classic.
He has an 8v92T, there is no progressive shifting its WOT is not good. Regardless, it may save fuel, but I like to feel power and I enjoy hearing the motor.
