Hey. I have a bet on with a friend of mine that I can get more views on my video's than he can and I'm loosing. If you could do me a favour and watch one for me by clicking on my profile, I'd really appreciate it. They might even make you smile.
Jeez, I just can't watch that asshole bill o'reilly. Typical bully-boy, if he can't win an argument on reason, he'll just over-shout the opponent. What a cunt of a guy. I admire the trouble you went through to make this video. You could do one on when he interviews Sam Harris too, that is even worse; he won't let the guy finish a single sentence, obviously petrified of his intellect (as he should be). Keep up the good work. Woof.
I finally understand "The Bill O'Reilly Show". He invites guests so that he can tell them that Bill is right.... Please make sure you Americans keep him in the US...
I find this genuinely painful to watch. How Dawkins musters the patience and energy to sit through this without laughing at O'Reilly is beyond me. It's like talking to a brick wall. I think sometimes I'm more impressed by that than his scientific work.
@kklindh so do you believe in supernatural intervention? or random?
Science is all about making equations for things, not accepting that things happen randomly. Causation! So in other words, unless random exists, or supernatural intervention exists, than the way the universe is tommorrow was predetermined at the big bang. look up predeterminism
the philosophy of 95% of scientists with any brains. therefore dawkins = idiot/non-scientist
@curthor well, if everything is predetermined, it's not like we know about it. So from out point of view it seems random. Supernatural intervention just sounds... i mean, where did that come from? Why not just leave it random? But that's what nature does opposite some times, things happen according to certain patterns. I mean, is predicting the the weather for tomorrow "looking into the future"? its just what we humans do, look for patterns.
Also...one fact often overlooked...the founding father didn't leave England to escape religious tyrany...they left to create it. They protested against the lax religious ethics of England. They even executed a man for sleeping with a pig because one of his children were slightly deformed...didn't strike them as odd that the child was still born of a woman. Religious maniacs. They killed the pig too....obviously.
@MrLaughingcorpse lol? christians didnt do what? yes, they did, also they burned jews and atheists, and "witches", and scientists, stoned homosexuals.
If there exists no transcendent being, God, and if our existence is owed to a "cosmic crap shoot", if the laws of "natural selection", and "survival of the fittest " prevail then no argument can be made to justify morality or ethics. What I can glean out of this life, by whatever means, is justified in my struggle for survival. In the absence of "transcendent truth", you cannot successfully label anything as "evil" or "wrong" it is what it is.
@skippy091065 Weak argument, you cannot say your God is the source of morality when that God is a genocidal, fillicidal, racist, homopohbe, sexist maniac, of morality comes from your God who is immoral you're in a bit of a problem. Morality is a product of evolution. We're social animals&cannt properly exist if we do not live in a social group, the only way such social groups can exist is if those in that group have codes that promote cooperation&collaboration, those codes is what morality is
@moroney1 Weak argument, MORONEY1? Really? Your myopia will trumpet your demise.Does a potter not reserve the right to destroy pots, cups, plates that he deems unworthy his name? HE is GOD, what He does is immutable and needs no justification. I love the way you narrow minded people through the term "homophobia" or "homophobic" around. "Phobia" by definition implys "fear of", use a word synomous with; repulsive, abhorant, disdain, repugnant these would more appropriate.
@moroney1 There has existed a deliberate and concerted effort to eliminate God from our society since the publication of Darwin's little work of fiction. Look at FBI statistical analysis, graph the increase in crimes of every kind, compare to a graph showing the increasing success in removing God from the social conscience and see the fullness of the delusion to which you ascribe.
@moroney1 the left claims that my faith is a "crutch" my crutch has survived thousands of years and is almost as popular as Oxygen. The real crutch, a broken, twisted, sappling of a crutch, is evolution. No real scientist will come near evolution. Darwin is not to blame, he made some very very simple observations, then developed an even simpler hypothesis to explain these observations. He never intended for, and in fact warned against, man using his theory as a basis for society.
@moroney1 The first step taken towards totalitarian rule is to eliminate God and or religion. Clearing the way for every kind of immaginable evil. Funny , because if man is basically good, and societies are to blame for evil, then dictators should become the most benevolent beings on earth, once above or outside the constraints and influence of a society. Hitler, Stalin, Mau, Pol Pot, benevolent? That's right,, you probably believe they were admirable figures of history.
@skippy091065 You're babbling nonsense, morality is a product of the need for a social group to survive. The best government in the world was built on making sure religion was not apart of government, to promote a wall between the two, the philosophy of Jefferson and the secular. If you look at the list of men you gave me they were built on state religions, Stalin was the new czar, Hitler was doing God's work and Mao claimed to be divine thus his supporters were his worshippers etc.
@moroney1 you must have study the 'revised' history books. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.
Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here."
--The Trumpet Voice of Freedom: Patrick Henry of Virginia, p. iii.
."While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian."
@moroney1 "I am a real Christian – that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ."
--The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, p. 385. You see it is easier to get someone to believe something today if I change what they believe about the past.
@moroney1 All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth...part 1
@skippy091065 Rhetoric alert! Jefferson was a deist, not a christian and the jefferson version of the bible cuts out supernatural parts of the bible. He discusse how you need to build up a wall between religion and politics
@moroney1 -that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?"
Benjamin Franklin, To Colleagues at the Constitutional Convention
Doesn't really sound like a lot of "diests" or "enlightened secularists" to me.
@skippy091065 No where does it mention christianity in the declaration of independence, Jefferson viewed christianity with contempt, eg the Jefferson Bible
Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
@moroney1 in their wildest imaginations and learned presuppositions did they ever envision a day in America where God's existence and sovereignty would be questioned. It was "Unthinkable" that prayer would be banned from government buildings, schools, and public in whole. Had they a cyrstal ball and could see the country today, they would undoubtedly made provisions to clarify their stance.
@moroney1 my previous quote of Benjamin Franklin, came from his attempt to bring order to the "Constitutional Convention", discussions had deteriorated into petty squabbling. What could be considered the "first" governmental meeting, by the very authors of the constitution, by the least christian man amongst them, implores them to return to prayerful consideration, to petition God himself for counsel and wisdom. Jeffersons reference to a "wall of seperation' is not in the constitution
@skippy091065 Christianity is never mentioned in the constitution and for good reason as Jefferson viewed it with contempt. and he clearly states that:
Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814
@`1976GGus1, You really have to break with reality to claim that God favors one race over another. Jesus was a "man of color", if this were not the case He would have stood out in Isreal like a sore thumb. It would have been the main topic of conversation throughout the gospels. Yet no mention. Surely the disciples would have used a white child born to brown parents as an indicator of God's providence. You should really quit speaking as though you "Know" God or Jesus, John 3:16.
Also,, the biggest problem with thing is colored people.Colored people are responsible for much of the bad things that happen.God see this. That is why I laugh my ass off when I see colored Christens. They are too dumb to understand,,but Jesus , and GOd want nothing to do with them. They have VOO DOO.
@1976GGus1 God is real and bursting with love yet he hates people who have more melanin in their skin than you, his chosen MASTER RACE? Get a job, racism is detrimental to the advancement of society
BOY OHO BOY,,,,,,,THIS PISSES ME OFF SO BAD!!!!!! GOD IS REAL!!! That smart mouth guy that is trying to make Jesus look fake just might end up with a pinch in the old nose. I hate people that think this way.
It's obvious that O'Reilly didn't bring Dawkins on the program to discuss "The God Delusion." He only wanted to denigrate an atheist to boost his TV ratings.
@Freakshow985 How more coherent could I be?? Both Burger King and McDonald's sell burgers. Doesn't mean that burgers are exclusively associated with Burger King.
RICHARD DAWKINS - "OUR COLLECTIVE FREE TIME NEEDS TO SHIFT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO EDUCATION. WHETHER YOU'RE A YOUNG STUDENT OR FINISHED SCHOOL LONG AGO, GET OUT TO THE LIBRARY WHENEVER YOU CAN AND WORK HARD TO LEARN EVERYTHING YOU CAN ABOUT THIS WORLD. EACH INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETY WILL BENEFIT FROM BEING ABLE TO SOLVE MORE PROBLEMS AND MAKE BETTER DECISIONS. EDUCATION IS AN AMAZING DISCOVERY PROCESS THAT REPAYS US ENDLESSLY."
morals are part of our dna makeup,my son is only 4 and he shows empathy and compassion and has never been to church and i certainly didn't have to teach it to him
Even better , didn't hitler just act like any good crusader? Imagine if Richard the lion heart had plans and tanks, Muslims and Jews would be extinct. Remember any none christian was to dealt with.
Moral foundations argument is bolony. I was born and raised an Atheist and my moral foundation came largely from my mom and some from my dad. He's a police officer and she teaches First aid courses voluntairily. So tell me, is that moral enough for you?
@TheConservativesrock If we're just matter, how can you think that? You don't have to understand everything, I'm pretty sure it's impossible. But morals rest on 1 easy principle. Treat people how you wish to be treated. Cavemen didn't beleave in any current god, yet they had social conhesion. Tell, me if we needed morals from a god, why do I live in a seculair and peacefull country of the Netherlands where crime rates are so low? Tell me, why do people we claim to see got populate assilums?
@Defhrone Explain something for me. Why should I do right? What is right and wrong? Why should i care about anything? Why should I treat somebody how I wish to be treated when they may very well not return the favor.
@TheConservativesrock Because a God told you so? That's the weakest argument I know. I can behave perfectly fine without a God. Why? For 1 I don't wanna disappoint my parents. 2 if I misbehave there will be repurcussions in THIS life, not only the next. Why do I refrain from killing a man? I don't wanna be killed and if I did I'd rot in prison for a good while. I do right and help people because I get rewarded now with friendships that can one day help me and also a good feeling about myself.
"Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given to the profane masses is another useful idiot for Jesuit machinations"-C.O.
Jesuitical: pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuits completely altered the education system to suit their evolution agenda to discredit the Bible. They cant have a Satanic society of 'Do as Thou Wilt' if people still follow the Bible.
I once saw Dawkins playing with his 2-inch penis !!! Dawkins' wife has got very beatiful booobs---you would like to play with them
Being an atheist brother, I want Dawkins to permit me to spend a night with his wife !!! I can make her scream with my ramrod penetrating deep inside her pussy-cat...
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need religion, hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important, qualitative differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption.
Homosexual activists, with complete support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims and martyrs; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
O'Reily looked like a school kid debating his school master. " I feel this way, I know it makes no since, but I dont know how to beat you so I'll just say anything to get this over with."
You want to bring up genocide O'Reilly? Seriously? The bible is a book dedicated to genocide! You think Hitler and Stalin were 'confirmed atheists'? They both had the backing of the fucking Church!
@Soundgarden8497 Hey I bet they do, but it doesn't take away the fact that the first alliance Hitler made was with the Catholic church, and he said that he was 'doing gods work'.
@Soundgarden8497 Whatever. If you're going to call me names, like a typical Christian with the mind of a child, then just fuck off. There is NO DIFFERENCE between a muslim extremist and a christian crusader, or a zionist jew for that matter. If you can't understand that simple truism, then once again, just fuck off.
@Soundgarden8497 Then you should be able to appreciate what I'm saying, you wacky bitch. Religion is NOT a good thing, I don't care whose it is. It's a tool for manipulating people and that's it.
@Soundgarden8497 Not really. Christianity has a whole army over occupying the middle-east right now. The best that the muslims could do was to get a few guys into a few planes. So really, they're just more creative than the stupid fucking christians.
Besides, if you want to know how dangerous Christian extremism is, then just listen to McCain when he was talking about having a 100 year war in the middle-east, or listen to Rick Santorum spout his holy war bullshit. They turn fiction into fact.
@Soundgarden8497 Not really. Christianity has a whole army over occupying the middle-east right now. All the muslims could do was get some guys on a few planes. So really, they're just more creative than the stupid fucking Christians.
And if you think that Christian extremists aren't dangerous, then listen to McCain when he talks about starting a 100 year war in the Middle-East. Listen to Rick Santorum when he spouts his holy war bullshit. They turn fiction into fact and fearmonger.
@melbyRick fucking dumbarse. that's to maintain the free world, if islam managed to gain control of the world, everything would go backwards and it would be like living in the middle ages again you fucking uneducated bastard. go kill yourself
@melbyRick there's no words to describe how much of a fuckwit you are. you're obviously a muslim OR a brainwashed social marxist. you're a waste of time, space and matter. go kill yourself
@Soundgarden8497 I'd rather see all you warmongering, pro-christian fuckbags go kill yourselves, because you won't be missed at all. We could make this world into a paradise if we didn't have you here to fuck it all up with your stupid bullshit.
Hey, if you love the holy war so much, then why don't YOU go pick up a gun and fight for it. Oh, and try to catch a few bullets while you're at it.
@melbyRick what an ignorant cunt, there cannot be paradise under islam. what an insult to all the oppressed women who are forced to cover up and have less rights than men. with an 8 child family policy, islam is the most unsustainable religion on the planet. once again, kill yourself.
@Soundgarden8497 Are you fucking brain dead? I said nothing of Islam. I hate them as much as I hate you, even though you're giving me a lot more reasons than they ever did. And guess what asshole, I'm not going anywhere. This world belongs to those who are willing to work and fight for it. And guess what bitch, I bet my will is stronger than yours. Religion is on it's last legs, just waiting to get kicked on it's ass for good, and then we WILL have a paradise. And You can go to Hell.
If you actually watched this video, and actually believe what you said, then I can see how you could convince yourself that a book which tells us to kill witches is a credible source of information.
@ndrthrdr1 Go ahead and refute O'Reilly if you can.Be aware that O'reilly is an expert in theology and his arguments are incredibly sophisticated that you can't refute them.
hitler wasn't an atheit it even says in mein kampf that hitler belives the arian race was created by a creator of the universe and says in biography's that he is roman catholic.
Look at the deepest desires of the human heart. Either a.) I believe there is another human person that can perfectly love me, OR b.) this insatiable desire is only satisfied in God, OR c.) this insatiable desire will never be fulfilled and our life here on earth is a big frustrating joke. Which one is true? If no one can satisfy my heart then I have no hope in this life and despair is the only thing left. Silly rabbit, just accept JESUS
Morality and God are inseparable. Do good and avoid evil. Basic truth written into every human heart which is fashioned by the Father through His Eternal Word. What wrong with believing in God especially when we all desire perfect unconditional love and cannot find total peace and rest yet?
What I believe is pretty straightforward. In the beginning there was nothing. In fact the beginning never existed, because it would have been something, but I will skip that part for argument’s sake. Now, as soon as nothing exists, there would be no laws. If there is not a single law, then an infinite number of things will come into existence. This means that our universe must exit, because there was no law to prevent it.
Do the unbelievers not realize that the heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they (now) believe(Quran 21:30)
"How can you disbelieve in GOD when you were dead and He gave you life, then He puts you to death, then He brings you back to life, then to Him you ultimately return"(Quran 2:28)
I have a direct link to God. When I was praising him the other day he told me that all believers need to take their own lives immediately to join him in heaven. He told me that he was removing the consequences of suicide for a short time only. So, all of gods children can go-- go now-- Kill yourselves---
They could have chosen the graphic, O'Reilly's Ball Itch, for Dawkins. I'd like to believe Thor busted himself all over space with that big hammer, etc. But I'll take Judeo-Christian re-interpretable values over Atheist moving-target fascism any day.
Notice that Google/Youtube still put a red line under Judeo-Christian ....
@TheJDorian "Scientifically proven?" Science doesn't prove anything. Science looks at what the preponderance of the evidence suggests. The only sense in which something is considered proven in science is in the context of a mathematical proof within a theory.
It isn't proven. For averages, you have to study EVERYONE. Weird how that works.
PS: I'm 'left-wing', if you insist on categorizing people in order to keep track of them.
Or, you could accept that each 'side' has morons and stop nitpicking on 4 IQ points, which is really just a manmade 'measurement of knowledge.' Measuring knowledge is logically impossible.
How about you get on the side of humanity rather than trying to claim superior?
@Cannablisst All I did was talk about a study. If you have a problem with that study then you can contact the people who conducted it. Otherwise you can fuck off.
@TheJDorian Based on that response, you didn't understand what I was talking about, which also happens to verify the exact point I was trying to make. Should have been able to see that coming.
Bill O'Reilly is just a talking head for America's religious right and his comments are scripted as such. However he chooses to preach such nonsense and so totally deserves the 2011 QQOQQ award.... youtube.com/watch?v=gcUo9Tk0A-s
Bill, u moron, u christians can't tell us how the universe got here either. Oh wait, u guys think it all got here by a man w a beard and only did it ALL in 6 fucking days! Yeah, that's sounds plausable. And the earth is only 6,000 yrs old AND people walked w dinosaurs. That all sounds really convincing. Bill, u r the stupidest person I swear!
Even if god exists, he puts us on this earth, gives us so much grief, instead of just giving the heavens to us, I would tell to his face '' Hey you psyco, Fuckkk You ''
Science: "We think this is how things work. We'll go out and test our understanding by performing experiments and gather empircal evidence and allow our peers for critque, review and debate our results. Over time, we improve our understanding of how things work, including changing our thinking depending on the evidence.
Religion: "My book says this is true, so it must be true. End of discussion"
@ciphrix Excellent description of science. I would, however, propose a slightly different wording for religion: "My interpretation of my book is true, so it must be true. End of discussion"
You might say that as gods only exist in the mind of believers, there are as many gods as believers. No wonder theists are so often at odds with one other. They profess 'great respect' for other religions a lot (fade up heavenly light), but who are they kidding?
@ciphrix A scientist was working on something for 25 years, He thought he had it figured out, Another scientist looked at it and point out at what points he was wrong. the first scientist looked at the data, and told the other scientist thank you for showing me at what point I was wrong. For a scientist the truth is what matters, not the man. A theist would would have tried to kill the guy.
When OReilly comes on, I switch to Fox BUSINESS News and watch Judge Andrew Napolitano on "Freedom Watch." I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal!
We don't think we@re smart because we're atheists, we're atheists because we're smart. Bill O jokeoff can't make a valid argument for the life of him.
i LOL'd when i saw that they put atheist above his name, typical FOX News, look i believe in God and am a Christian, but if you dont and are not, well thats alright too, i respect your choices if you respect mine

"we are working on it" Dawking says. But you are working on it with the assumption before the discovery.
Instead of the discovery leading to the fundamental truth, you are assuming the truth before the discovery. So if the truth is against the assumption, you might be blind to the truth by your pride as you believe in the assumtion.
@rationalopenmind If a person gives an argument, is it right to argue against the person instead of arguing against the argument that person uses? Furthermore it seems that the word idiot describes a steriotype, but has no proper definition, so please dont use it in an argument.
@setnoset You're right. We should castigate the message, not the messenger. However, when polite and reasonable questions are answered with twisted logic, arguments from authority, circular (bible) references and downright wishful thinking, tempers can fray. After all, atheists are often people who, being free from superstition are eager to hear rational arguments. Atheists have access to piles of pukkah evidence which excludes the need for gods. Can we not expect one pro from theists? Just one?
@Pleendriver srry, i didnt understand what u meant by "one pro". do you mean proof? I dont think there is proof for either side.
Anyway. if you are an atheist id like to ask a question? you dont need to answer me, just to think about it. Are you trying to convince others of this idiology? are u in a state where you cant setle until this issue is settled towards these ideals? perhaps more importantly, are you trying to convince yourself of this idiology?
@setnoset No no...Scientists are making an educated guess based on the information they have at hand. They then test this guess to try to illuminate the truth further. The assumption is on the religious who are assuming the existence of a God without any knowledge.. just like they assume the bible is true without actually having evidence for it.. and keep assuming in light of conflicting evidence from Science. It is why the religious are blinded to the truth by their belief and prior assumption.
@dan90555 Yes I do agree that the religious can also be blinded by assumptions. My argument is valid for anyone who assumes. Specifically, anyone who has a strong philosophycal belief and who has a lot of pride, and religious people do have at least one of these characteristics (strong belief).
I do hope that indeed no scientist should fall into this category. I am sure that there are scientists that do not but I am not so sure that all scientists do not.

Why should sir Dawkins even waste his precious time with this retard? Out of all intelligent theist people, they pit him with this blabbermouth airhead?
Oh wow, Guy at the end says "God isnt necessary for a moral foundation". Anyone care to elaborate on that? How do you account for an ABSOLUTE (ill be more specific) moral foundation without a moral law giver? (especially if you only believe in the material and not in the immaterial, considering immaterial concepts such as the laws of logic and morality ) And if you don't believe in absolutes, why are you right and not me?
I don't understand why its so difficult to understand for atheists that calling yourself an atheist IS having faith. Why?Let's grant that there is absense of evidence for God. Is this absence of evidence evidence of the absence of God? Not logically. You would have to know everything there is to know in order to DENY the existence of God. The furthest you can logically approach atheism is to say "I don't know if there is a God, because I can't have possibly analyzed all of the evidence"
@nequillim Tehehe -circular logic at its best. It would be nice if I could increase your iq by about 80 points temperarily so u could understand how delightfully retarded you are.
@rationalopenmind ahahahah " The other religious texts have been corrupted by satan and are false". He said that so staunchly I was expecting a DUH! at the end.
@nequillim "Atheism is a logical phallusy" A what? Did you perhaps mean fallacy, dickhead? (Sorry. Couldn't resist that last pun!) Something for my book of bon mots!
"As to which "God" it is who created the universe, well, I think the answer will instantly be self-evident to anyone who has read the Bible." Or the Koran? Or Torah? Perhaps the Vedas? Zend Avesta? Kitab i Aqdas? Read them all and more before deciding, did you? ♫ I don't think so! ♫
You guy's should see how this asshole treats Marlyn Manson on interview, he tries to bully him relentlessly but MM takes it all in stride and the whole thing just blows up in Bill's face. Here he sought demonize to this man and in 10 minutes he only managed to show off true colors which are as Christians would say, 'demonic'.
I really don't get how you prove or disprove the supernatural (a being not limited to the laws of our universe) with the laws of the universe. It's seems pointless to do so. Might as well try to explain music theory with algebra.
Remember, Jesus Christ was perfect. And God isnt necessary for morallity, but is the reason and cause of morals humans were to use free will to choose what is right. Which they dont. In order to benefit fully from along the course of life. The meaning of life, is an expression of love from god.

I admire the trouble you went through to make this video. You could do one on when he interviews Sam Harris too, that is even worse; he won't let the guy finish a single sentence, obviously petrified of his intellect (as he should be). Keep up the good work. Woof.

In the absence of "transcendent truth", you cannot successfully label anything as "evil" or "wrong" it is what it is.
skippy091065 2 months ago
@skippy091065 Weak argument, you cannot say your God is the source of morality when that God is a genocidal, fillicidal, racist, homopohbe, sexist maniac, of morality comes from your God who is immoral you're in a bit of a problem. Morality is a product of evolution. We're social animals&cannt properly exist if we do not live in a social group, the only way such social groups can exist is if those in that group have codes that promote cooperation&collaboration, those codes is what morality is
moroney1 1 month ago
@moroney1 Weak argument, MORONEY1? Really? Your myopia will trumpet your demise.Does a potter not reserve the right to destroy pots, cups, plates that he deems unworthy his name? HE is GOD, what He does is immutable and needs no justification. I love the way you narrow minded people through the term "homophobia" or "homophobic" around. "Phobia" by definition implys "fear of", use a word synomous with; repulsive, abhorant, disdain, repugnant these would more appropriate.
skippy091065 1 month ago
@moroney1 There has existed a deliberate and concerted effort to eliminate God from our society since the publication of Darwin's little work of fiction. Look at FBI statistical analysis, graph the increase in crimes of every kind, compare to a graph showing the increasing success in removing God from the social conscience and see the fullness of the delusion to which you ascribe.
skippy091065 1 month ago
@moroney1 the left claims that my faith is a "crutch" my crutch has survived thousands of years and is almost as popular as Oxygen. The real crutch, a broken, twisted, sappling of a crutch, is evolution. No real scientist will come near evolution. Darwin is not to blame, he made some very very simple observations, then developed an even simpler hypothesis to explain these observations. He never intended for, and in fact warned against, man using his theory as a basis for society.
skippy091065 1 month ago
@moroney1 The first step taken towards totalitarian rule is to eliminate God and or religion. Clearing the way for every kind of immaginable evil. Funny , because if man is basically good, and societies are to blame for evil, then dictators should become the most benevolent beings on earth, once above or outside the constraints and influence of a society. Hitler, Stalin, Mau, Pol Pot, benevolent? That's right,, you probably believe they were admirable figures of history.
skippy091065 1 month ago
@skippy091065 You're babbling nonsense, morality is a product of the need for a social group to survive. The best government in the world was built on making sure religion was not apart of government, to promote a wall between the two, the philosophy of Jefferson and the secular. If you look at the list of men you gave me they were built on state religions, Stalin was the new czar, Hitler was doing God's work and Mao claimed to be divine thus his supporters were his worshippers etc.
moroney1 1 month ago
@moroney1 you must have study the 'revised' history books. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.

He discusse how you need to build up a wall between religion and politics

skippy091065 1 month ago
@skippy091065 No where does it mention christianity in the declaration of independence, Jefferson viewed christianity with contempt, eg the Jefferson Bible
Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
-Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782
moroney1 1 month ago
@moroney1 in their wildest imaginations and learned presuppositions did they ever envision a day in America where God's existence and sovereignty would be questioned. It was "Unthinkable" that prayer would be banned from government buildings, schools, and public in whole. Had they a cyrstal ball and could see the country today, they would undoubtedly made provisions to clarify their stance.
skippy091065 1 month ago
@moroney1 my previous quote of Benjamin Franklin, came from his attempt to bring order to the "Constitutional Convention", discussions had deteriorated into petty squabbling. What could be considered the "first" governmental meeting, by the very authors of the constitution, by the least christian man amongst them, implores them to return to prayerful consideration, to petition God himself for counsel and wisdom. Jeffersons reference to a "wall of seperation' is not in the constitution
skippy091065 1 month ago

TheConservativesrock 3 months ago
@TheConservativesrock If we're just matter, how can you think that? You don't have to understand everything, I'm pretty sure it's impossible. But morals rest on 1 easy principle. Treat people how you wish to be treated. Cavemen didn't beleave in any current god, yet they had social conhesion. Tell, me if we needed morals from a god, why do I live in a seculair and peacefull country of the Netherlands where crime rates are so low? Tell me, why do people we claim to see got populate assilums?

@TheConservativesrock Because a God told you so? That's the weakest argument I know. I can behave perfectly fine without a God. Why? For 1 I don't wanna disappoint my parents. 2 if I misbehave there will be repurcussions in THIS life, not only the next. Why do I refrain from killing a man? I don't wanna be killed and if I did I'd rot in prison for a good while. I do right and help people because I get rewarded now with friendships that can one day help me and also a good feeling about myself.

Just one?
Pleendriver 5 months ago

It is why the religious are blinded to the truth by their belief and prior assumption.
dan90555 5 months ago 2
@dan90555 Yes I do agree that the religious can also be blinded by assumptions. My argument is valid for anyone who assumes. Specifically, anyone who has a strong philosophycal belief and who has a lot of pride, and religious people do have at least one of these characteristics (strong belief).
I do hope that indeed no scientist should fall into this category. I am sure that there are scientists that do not but I am not so sure that all scientists do not.

Refutingnonsense 6 months ago
I don't understand why its so difficult to understand for atheists that calling yourself an atheist IS having faith. Why?Let's grant that there is absense of evidence for God. Is this absence of evidence evidence of the absence of God? Not logically. You would have to know everything there is to know in order to DENY the existence of God. The furthest you can logically approach atheism is to say "I don't know if there is a God, because I can't have possibly analyzed all of the evidence"

Hitler was a catholic and was backed up by the Pope.
Stalin ddnt kill under for atheism but killed for Marxist-Leninism.
Pol Pots was Buddhist.
And Mao was Confucian....
You can't kill under the banner of atheism cause its not a religion.
its just simply a position... a disbelief in God or a god.

Remember, Jesus Christ was perfect. And God isnt necessary for morallity, but is the reason and cause of morals humans were to use free will to choose what is right. Which they dont. In order to benefit fully from along the course of life. The meaning of life, is an expression of love from god.
