umm if i use a dye designd for black women do i still need 2 bleach then apply color of choice or can i trust the color guide on the box that shows u "if your hair is this color the dye will make it this color"
in my experience, the color on the box is never the color i get in my hair. the ONLY color that i have ever used that will actually give me the right color is the L'Oreal Highlift for dark hair, because that specific line has a lifter built into the color so the dark coor is lightened and the color is applied all in the same step. check out my "Going Back To Red" vid to see how that one works.
i put a box of permanent honey blonde dye on my tips about two weeks ago and im not pleased with the color that came out...its a dark brown and i was looking more towards a lighter version (my locs are dark dark brown/black)so what im wanting to do is go over my tips with a revlon (frost n glow)bleach and then redo the honey blonde dye...now the question is...can i do all that in one setting or should i wait some time in between...please help!!
**i'm not a professional. do this at your own risk** but yes, i have bleached and colored my hair in one sitting. thats how i originally got my hair the bright red color that i rock. you said you just put the honey blonde on 2 weeks ago. i would wait 4 more weeks before you mess around with color or bleach again. but, really, all you need is some bleach, just leave it on til your hair color is lifted to the color you want then wash it out. no need for putting another dye on top of it.
no. i didn't notice that at all either time i used the henna. i know it is suppose to stretch out the curl, but its probably mostly for people with loose hair.
henna for hair (dot) com is great and i just got done reading the book yesterday. its great. but she says one her site not to use eggs in it. can't wait to see how your hair turns out lol i'm only half way through the video
umm... the hair was already red before the color. How well does it work on dark colored hair? I want to try it, but I haven't seen any color results on dark hair.
check out the henna for hair free e-book. the link is in the video description. they have pics of what henna does to dark colored hair as well. it kinda looks like you got a red rinse, you can only see hints of the red in direct sunlight, pretty much.
i've heard as long as a year. is been about two months for me and i noticed a slight fading of the color. but i've used a clearifying shampoo a couple of times since then and that may be why.
i honestly can't remember the brand. its the only brand they carry at the natural health store i buy it at. i've heard you can use henna as often as every two week. but i may be mis-remembering. check out the website. its pretty comprehensive!
lol i luved the video and it was right on time...i just posted one about keepin my kinky hair red and how i would be looking into using hennas next and BAM i see ur video PLUS u used RED henna so i kno there is such a color...thanks for the video it helped me on closing my discussion! peace & blessings!
Here is a tip for you: like that website said you can use lemon juice, but what it doesn't say is that you can use ANY acidic liquid like grape fruit juice , orange juice, lime juice, or even Apple Cidar vinegar to help deposit that red you are looking for. You can add 3 or 4 drops of essential oil, like rosemary, sage, lavender or whatever you like, to mask the "hay' smell of the henna. I have also seen women n youtube add yogurt and coconut milk. Hope that helps you next time. :-)
I think imma have to hit you both up when i embark on using henna on my hair...can yall direct me on a brand to use? i've heard not all hennas are pure and are not as effective and i need to keep my ends as red as i can get it....thanks for your help. Peace & Blessings! :)
Hey sis! your video is so polished and cropped much nicer than mine. I'm going to have to have to show you off! But seriously, this will help alot of folks understand the henna journey. nice work
Thanks for sharing your video. I just started my locs two months ago and look forward to the day that I can color my hair and I've been thinking of the henna's. How long have you had your locs? They look great!

Thank you for your vid. I've been considering using Henna but didn't know much about the process. Your color really "set in" well. Thanks again!

I have locs also and after looking at Nli810db video I was scared she said it changed her curl pattern. Did the Henna open up your locks at all?

the second time i used just lemon juice and it really did a better job! but in the long run i decided not to use henna anymore.
lillydot 2 years ago
If you don't use henna anymore, what do you use now to color your hair?
SweetAfrica1998 2 years ago
l'oreal high lift

My color teacher said you could use red juice for reds, coffee for brown etc etc. I want to experiment with henna now :-)
